I heard about the trees issue. Pretty sad that some folks might be missing out on gifts......

Depending on when the issue is fixed (it's complicated but staff are working on it), it is still possible to fill trees in a mad dash till the end. I'm concerned that people will lose interest but I'm trying my best to keep the morale up of others. ;)

There are still a lot of items stocked in the token shop! [edit] After a year+ of having the neighborhood dug up and orange conduit sticking up in everybody's yards, they have finally finished burying the fiber. Tomorrow I go from 50 Mbps to 1000 Mbps internet and save a few bucks on the bill! :)

- I loved our fiber internet, so fast and so reliable.. the new house has terrible internet options, we're less than 1k feet from the end of the cable drop/run and they're not interested in expanding it.. talk about frustration! Turns out the house on the bottom of the hill directly below us is the last property on the high speed so we're talking with the owner about establishing service and then running extenders/repeaters down our property line.. oh the joys to get high speed back, lol. On the upside, ATT says their fiber network will be extended to here by the end of next year.. not sure my patience will last that long, but...

The storms the other day were insane! Hurricanes have nothing on nighttime tornadoes!!! I was up until 5 am when our area finally got the all clear. Multiple tornadoes touched down in the area around us causing damage, thankfully no lives were lost in our area.. just to the west of us, they're still searching for over 60 people who are missing .. just breaks your heart when things like this happen this time of year.

Did you have streaming tv along with your fiber internet? I have loved U-verse since we first got it but it looks like the streaming tv is cheaper. U-verse isn't taking new customers and I don't want satellite, so I will have to a lot more research before I think about switching my tv over. The line of tornadoes that wrecked Kentucky started just northeast of us. We were under a warning, and we had some really high winds and hail, but thankfully no tornado here.

I wish I had time to organize a Secret Santa this year, but I really don't :( I have grading to get done in between finishing presents and wrapping and baking... there's not enough hours in a day!!

I'm so glad you guys were safe from the tornadoes! I've never heard/seen one, and I don't think I ever want to! I'll take a blizzard any day! Speaking of, we're finally getting some snow Saturday! happy dance And it looks like it will be cold enough that it won't melt before Christmas gets here!

- we had att tv and it wasn’t bad at all. It gets pricier than satellite once the promo period expires. They will add another promo on if you call given there’s one available, but dish satellite is far cheaper over all and you get more channels for less cost. Roku is pretty good too, plus we have Netflix, Amazon prime, Hulu, hbo, and Disney plus.. all work amazing on fiber internet. It really comes down to how much regular tv you watch and local stuff like news… but there’s plenty of streaming options available that offer those as well.

The closest a tornado was to us was a little over 5 miles away. Hit a hardware store and did some damage in and around it. At one point, the one that was on the ground for nearly 200 miles was headed straight for us. The destruction in Mayfield and Dawson Springs is heart breaking.

Crazy weather everywhere lately. Yesterday they were getting hurricane strength winds in Colorado where my daughter is! Thankfully no tornado there, but the winds did enough damage. I follow a guy on YouTube - RyanHallYall - and he covers all the weather events Live on there and TikTok. Pretty informative stuff. He was warning everyone about the supercell storms a week out, we just didn’t realize how intense it was going to be!

I seem to have caught a cold or something.. really hoping it's just an allergy sinus cold thing and not the damn plague.. I lean toward cold because I've not been around anyone at all in the ten days prior to getting head congestion and a sore throat (both things I tend to get when my allergies get out of control). Anywho.. if I'm not feeling better after Christmas, then I will get get tested.. in the mean time, lots of liquids, rest, zinc, vitamin C, and some home made chicky noodle soups should hopefully have me feeling better sooner rather than later <3

Same here, 210 is my best streak. Through this holiday season is my best(or maybe worst) chance of missing a day. I hope you feel better FOR Christmas day!

Well, I've been pretty busy too but that all came to a screeching halt today - Tom got covid. I was supposed to be helping my parents get ready for Christmas Eve dinner tomorrow, but now I'm staying away. He's not too bad so far and I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse. We're both fully vaccinated but he didn't get his booster until this past Saturday; I've had mine for almost 3 weeks.

No chance for a white Christmas here tomorrow. It's supposed to be 65 degrees in the morning and warm up to close to 80! There is a chance of breaking the record high temperature for Christmas day.

I hope it's mild and passes quickly and that it passes you by completely. Every time is a bad time, but right before the holidays is particularly difficult.

In Montreal (biggest city population in Quebec, Canada) we've hit record highs & it's continuing to increase due to omicron. The entire province is under semi-lockdown. However... things should start to improve within a week due to all the new measures that are in place :) Plus, I'm spending a bit of time with 1 friend that's a resident. We both aren't seeing anyone else so at least we're not completely alone. It'll be more pleasant this year than last for me :)

We don't know what strain he has - he only had a rapid test. But, it's pretty mild so far, with a fever, sore throat and body aches. He's been staying in our bedroom while I'm staying downstairs, and we've been masking at home too.
