I don't know where to go to ask this, but here goes.
So does anyone use video editing software? I've been experimenting trying to figure out what the best one is....and it's been a mixed bag so far.
The first one I installed was Openshot. Found out that the audio plays all funny when I playback a clip, which is annoying as heck. Crazy since it's apparently an award-winning software. It opens quicker that Adobe Premiere on my laptop so that's a plus I guess??
Then I found Shotcut. Soon after I installed it, I got a low memory error. Turns out that's a common error with this software! It might be even WORSE that Openshot in that aspect and I'll be uninstalling it if I can't find an easy solution.
Tomorrow I'm going to try another software I found while browsing Internet forums. I just want to find a nice video editing software.... I'm really frustrated at this point. :(
But I kinda want to know if anyone here had any experiences with the editing softwares that I mentioned and what tips and tricks you have. If not, could anyone tell me which Subeta forum is the best for requesting help on this subject?

Sadly, if you want an inexpensive video software, you'll get an inexpensive result... when using Windows/PC. Expensive solutions: -Adobe Premiere Pro, used on Windows/PC, annual fees, mega-expensive -Switch to Apple, learn how to use an iPad, get LumaFusion, learn how to use that... then you'll have a good software that doesn't cost as much but it'll cost to get the operational system and it's a VERY steep learning curb.
Then there are issues of copyright so if you want to add graphics, sound effects, music, etc. it's problematic or you have to pay a good amount to subscribe to a professional database.
Unless you're willing to make the investment, stick to the programs that will make you swear a bit but it'll save you the mega bleeping headaches of getting high-end things that even if you have you need to learn and have a good concept of other things (lighting, sound, science, etc.) before having something that might start to look a little "nice".
Here is the video I did for my campaign to be elected as resident admin. It is in French though... because most residents understand French. https://youtu.be/n3JWo6X1JyM
It took weeks to do and near the end where all the residents indicate that I am amongst them took several days to film then mount yet it's only a few seconds.
Important: If you don't want to see what I look like, avoid looking at the video & please don't refer to my RL here. Thanks :)
What software did you to make the video?
I may keep Openshot if the audio in my projects exports properly. I did a small test with just exporting a short audio clip and it's fine, so fingers crossed on that one.
I'm also looking at videos about using these software. Currently looking for how to resolve the low memory issue on Shotcut.

LumaFusion on an iPad
To work audio, try audacity (for PC). Best of luck
Hey, everyone!
I am using Subeta a lot more than I have been in the past and was looking for a new place to chat. This place seems like a good one to do it!
What is everyone up to today?

I'm glad you've been enjoying watercoloring! I've never really tried it (other than when I was a young kid with a watercolor book and those cheap paints lol). I just finished painting a 5ft double-handled saw for my sister. I need to gift it to her soon, it was for her birthday, which was last month lol.
Good luck finding a video editing program. I think teacup is correct, you get what you pay for! I've tried free ones in the past (I honestly don't recall what they were) and they were junk so I deleted them lol. I do have iMovie on my iPad that can create home videos, but it's not the best.
welcome! I'm Jenn! We are a friendly group, but not super chatty as of late. It seems that real life is getting in the way of most members and we tend to pop in when we remember to! I suggest subscribing to the thread so you know when someone posts (little checkmark at the top right corner of the page).
Hi, Jenn! Nice to meet you! Hopefully we can turn things around and make this chat a little more active again! :)
What are you up to today?

Hi all! Hope everyone's day is going well. I have to get to packing for a mini vacation with my parents. We're going to Arkansas to visit with family there.
Welcome! How are you? Cute HA by the way :)
I am okay. I was having a bad day at work and then my boss told me to take the day. But I am just trying to cheer up now. How are you?

Aww that isn't good, hopefully having the time off will help you feel better.
I'm doing good over here. My parents are on the road to my house, so I'm waiting for them to get here.
Yeah, I am sure things will get better! I hope you have fun with your parents!

Have a wonderful time, Leilani!
I'm sorry you had a bad day at work. I worked a long shift today (12 hours) and tomorrow is another long day for me at work, but then I get Thursday off!
Awww, I am sorry! What do you do for work?
I also get Thursday off! :) I can't wait lol

Could someone refresh my memory of where we find the Avatar circle things in the wardrobe?
- Wardrobe>Personal (it's near the top center of the screen)>Cosmetics>Set Avatar Border :) Took me a minute to find the 'personal' drop down because the letters for the link kind of blend with the background..
I'm a week away from heading to Colorado for nearly 3 weeks <3 I'm both excited and nervous, the whole flying thing has me slightly freaked out, but I'll be doing so in first class seats which I'm hoping will help <3 So much to do & get done in the next week before I leave! Hope everyone has a good one <3

Thank you. I never noticed the two things on the top bar. Learned something new.
Peeks in... I've been lurking but RL has been nipping at me. These days I feel like this:

:) Glad you found it :)
I'm so not ready for my trip, I leave on Saturday - haven't packed anything, haven't even thought about what to pack (aside from things I've picked up for my daughter and the grandbabies), realized my two big suitcases have found their way to Colorado without me.. apparently she 'borrowed' them during the past couple of visits and intended to bring them back ..
My anxiety is through the roof, I rarely leave my house and when I do I avoid people as best as I can.. I'm looking forward to being in Colorado, just not the whole flying part.. Pre-pandemic, I loved flying/traveling, eventually I'm sure that will return. Thankfully hubby gets it and is headed home slightly early today to take me shopping for the few things I need for my trip.. I stress much less when he's with me then I do by myself.. he keeps me grounded <3
I also quit smoking (not as a requirement to go to Colorado, but because it was time <3), so I'm slightly moody, less today than yesterday, and it should continue to get better every day at this point.. nearly a week in and doing great. I had planned to quit right before the pandemic hit, but then the stress of all that, there was no way those around me would have survived me quitting, lol.. it's far easier when the stress levels are low :)
I'm gone nearly all of July, of course the quest-a-thon happens while I'm away.. I hadn't planned to take my laptop with me, but I may do so now since trying to quest on my ipad drives me crazy.. kind of wish there was a service where someone did them for you when you were away.. but I'll make it work.. need to not miss any quests or days for questing to get those pretty prizes <3
Ok, I've drug my feet on getting things done long enough, have a wonderful day all <3
Life is better when you're laughing <3
. Safe Travels! I hope everything goes off without a hitch!
I think I must be the only person who finds questing on my phone easier than on the computer, but I really do. I can knock them out way more quickly.
I’m excited for my first quest-a-thon. A little sad that they aren’t bringing the blue border back since blues my favorite color, but I’m sure the green will be lovely too!
