Good call, I've been experiencing lag on the forms for a while now. I hope it gets increased eventually, but as for now I see how it was a good call. Besides, if someone has more to say they can still continue in another post, right? Or is that like, considered spamming your own post?

I luckily only had one thread above 1k (that I remember lol). After about 30 refreshes it finally loaded and I was able to get my first post copy and pasted. wipes brow Whew.

This could have waited until the end of masq. I am not generally a negative nancy, but it was a bit of a bummer with my contest thread. Keeping track through multiples will be interesting. I'm just glad I was online to see it. Even a bit of a 24 hour warning would have helped.

edit: Anyways, I'm happier for a faster site and stuff loading better, we will just have to be vigilant with holiday contests etc.

Oh dear. If it doesn't get changed by Survival, it's going to be messy. What we did with four threads this year, we'll have to do in 20.

I understand needing limits, but losing 80% capacity is kind of a big jump.

It depends on the forum itself, I would double check the forum sticky if you're confused about the rules on posting there! Or you could file a ticket and check with staff :)

I used to go ballroom dancing all the time and the point of doing so was to dance with strangers and meet new people. Yeah, there'd be people there you'd recognize and sometimes talk to between dances, during set breaks for the live band, or when you just needed a rest and sometimes this would develop into a thing. But usually not.

I really appreciate you helping to get the site faster, thank you so much. However, one day of preparing would have been nice to give us the chance to change threads over. I imagine dancing threads with many users now have a great problem and also HA contest groups.

I support this change if it helps improve site speed/efficiency. ^_^ Sounds like it must have been an emergency decision if it was made so suddenly, but as always I echo the desire for a little forewarning before changes are made.
