Holdover problems from original hair salon:

1. no indication of "base" hairstyles
2. multiple instances of the same hairstyle: ex, Beachglass shows up 3 times, Blaze 4 times, etc.

New problems: I've seen mostly what everyone else has reported, disappearing highlight colors. Clear button not really working - it gets rid of the hairstyle, but when you select a new hairdstyle and change the highlights, it applies them to the cleared hairstyle instead of the new one. Moving the hair to another layer clears it, but also, if you're wearing 2 hairs, moving either of them clears both.

So if you use a single hairstyle it works wonderfully, but as soon you change your mind and want to pick a different style, or use two hairs in tandem, nothing works. It stubbornly keeps the first style around and applies everything to that one.

This is what I have so far, please feel free to ping me and ask me to explain better or to try to reproduce the issue, I'm more than happy to help out! n.n

For reference, the "legacy style" I refer to is the Waterfall hairstyle.

1. Saved Outfits

~ Pre-existing hairstyles saved in outfits do no transfer hex codes into the style in the new system, so you lose the colors you had before and have to try to recreate them. Will saved outfits save hairstyle colors in the hex fields in the future? Or do we need to save the hex codes in the "Your Palette" section to be able to edit a hairstyle coloration that we've saved in our outfits? Because currently it doesn't work and hasn't for a while, which severely limits your ability to work on an HA and save it, then come back to it later to finish, or edit an old one you've saved without having to completely redo the hair salon colors. That can be a bit of a pain in the butt because you can't always just use a color picker to get the highlight and lowlight shades you used.

2. Earned vs Unearned

~ Currently, there are red checkmarks on all salon styles. I can select "Earned" in the filters and it does show the ones I actually own, but they're still marked with red checkmarks. Idk if this is relevant haha but I'll leave it in just in case.

3. Palette - Color Deletion

~ There needs to be a second step for deleting colors from your palette. A confirmation or something. One accidental click and it's gone.

4. Highlights

~ Highlights work fine on one hairstyle, but I went to add the Adia style after seeing comments about highlights not working properly, and it doesn't show the highlights on the preview for the second style, nor does it show up as such when you click "Update on avatar". For the legacy hairstyle I already had, it allowed me to change the highlights. So it only affects the second style. Highlights don't show up on the preview and are reset to none for a second hairstyle.

~ Also, when I chose a new hairstyle to layer over the legacy one and applied to the avatar, the highlights from the legacy style reset to default. Now that I've had more than one hairstyle on the avatar, it won't add the highlights even when there is only one currently listed on the avatar.

4. Palette Not Saved

~ When I closed the page, then navigated back through the link on this thread, my palette colors were gone and replaced with the "#85572c" one that is there by default. I didn't log out or clear my cache, so it should still be there, but it is not. When I simply refreshed the page and did not close the tab and navigate back, it did keep the colors saved.

~ When you say that the colors you are currently using will be automatically transferred to your palette, do you mean only for that specific hairstyle or that it should be added for use in all styles? Because it worked when I selected the hairstyle I had saved by clicking on the shears icon (in the worn items list area), but not when I chose a different style. Editing to add: I don't know why it worked the first time but isn't working now, but the colors from my saved hairstyle now don't show up in the palette at all. I tried choosing another outfit with the same hair, tried clearing my cache/cookies, logging out and back in, opening in a new tab, refreshing...none of that worked to get it to show back up on my palette.

5. "Clear Current Hair" Button

~ Does not work on legacy style or newly applied styles at all. You have to remove them manually on the left.

5. Hairstyles Listed Multiple Times & Broken Styles

~ Listed several times each: Ambition, Beachglass, Blaze, Calm, Dignity, Heat, Lang, Loyal, Material, Seaglass, Sincere, Syne

~ No image loads/broken image: Chance, Deck, Deco Long, Deco Short, Delishnaive, Enigma Long, Enigma Short, Fall, Freedom, Gale, Haize, Hazed, Hazedbeardless, Inspire, Justice, Masq, Mendbeardless, Onyz Short, Onyx Long, Overcast, Permafrost, Pi, Pime, Posy Long, Posy Short, Renew, Ringlet, Side Ponytail, Slatebeardless, Snowyday, Sonnet Long, Sonnet Short, Statement, Steam, Strawberry, Tea, Verid Long, Verid Short, Warmfront, Wenbeardless

The standard hairstyles are showing up as "unearned" even though, well, they're standard hairstyles. Is this a bug or a feature?

Also, why are the unearned hairstyles showing up as a red checkbox and not a red "x"? Is this intended to be this way, or is it also a bug?

EDIT: Testing it on PC now (Firefox 86.0, Windows 8.1) and when I try to activate highlight strands on Wry hairstyle (chosen at random), they don't show up in the preview

EDIT 2: There are still repeated styles in the Salon for some reason. And I'm not talking about those with and without beard, but downright duplicates.

The only hairstyle that is showing up as earned for me is Xolif (which is, I think, the only wig I've redeemed). The default hairstyles and the ones that I earned via Councillor's Cruise are marked as unearned.

Like I'm also seeing some duplicate styles--eg, Blaze shows up four times, Calm five times.

My highlights disappeared from the preview after I updated it to the avatar.

I just feel really stupid :( I'm seeing so many comments about how user-friendly and easy to use it is but I'm struggling. This is going to take some getting used to.

It's possibly just the highlights I'm having a hard time with, there's two white squares side-by-side and apparently the first white square disables the highlight and the second white square makes the highlight white. When I click on a color to make a highlight a certain color, my instinct is to click it again to disable it, but that's not how it works. I have to go back to the first unmarked white square to do that.

edit: I should also add that the "selection" border be something else when in dark mode. That's adding another layer of confusion for me because I can't see what I'm selecting when it comes to those first two white squares.

The highlights disappear for me too, don't worry :) I also get a little caught up with the color changing and the general idea of 'reclick = remove option''

Thank you for the fixes! I would suggest having the option to collapse (hide/show button) the Palette section, similar to how you can hide/show the filters in the Items area of the wardrobe because currently I have to scroll down a lot to edit the "section" colors and then I can't see the hair I am editing unless I scroll back up.

You might want to check out this “You must be logged in to view this page”.

Also, I often get the "you must be logged in" message. I just wait a bit and it usually goes away and the wardrobe/hair salon loads. But that might be a different issue than you are experiencing.

Glad you got it working and know the specific cookie you need to allow.

My big concern would be losing the live color view directly on the wig. Like when you mouse around the color wheel to get the color just right. Otherwise, it's great. I just think not having that immediate color view makes for a lot of trial and error.

I have a ton of hair I unlocked a long time ago in the salon but I never use. I wish there was a way to take out all the ones I don't want and sell them.

I thoroughly agree w/ . I have heard many complaints about this over the years and it's been a factor in whether or not people will even buy the coupons.

[edit] Forgot to add - the way the former salon was, it showed you everything you actually have. Now it shows you everything and you have to scroll through many pages to see what you actually have. That is annoying as hell.

If you click on filters, there'a an option to show only earned hair styles.
