I really hope they don't get rid of survival. It may not matter to you (general), but survival is my favorite event and biggest community event. Ever since NVLB and the biting directory was created, the holiday has been less scattered, and less 'every one for themself' and there's a one-stop-shop for the community to come together and help others collect skins. I've been working on going for rarer skins to help fill requests for them and not leave people hanging for hours. It's the one time of year where I truly come out of my shell and chat with other regulars while making sure everyone who comes by gets what they want. It's the one thing I look forward to every year, starting with the day survival ends that year. It is my escapism. It's a virtual unity event for me. If it was canceled I don't know what I would do with myself.

But hey, this is coming from the self-proclaimed # 1 Alegarten fan, and we see how that turned out.

As for actual suggestions, I agree a lot with a focus on non-romance love items in L'amour parlour. A focus on family, friends, platonic relationship etc would not only be an appreciated warm sentiment, but also be a good balance to uh, what was in there this past year. And here I am, almost five years later, still throwing in my hat for Replacement Limb: Den Steel Right Arm

On that note, IMO rochelle's limb replacement should be intergrated into the wardrobe eventually. Most of the available limbs are gorgeous but you rarely see them used since the system is so totally unintergrated with the wardrobe. Same goes for the face painting kiosk.

Spiked collars and bracelets and anklets!

More headbands featuring hearts, skulls, bones, brains, etc.

What said is so true about the people who want to escape reality here and others who want to acknowledge it. Just not sure which I would prefer.

As far as ideas for the event go I really like both of these suggestions. I love books and food since they are great ways to add more personality to my pets. The added benefit is if it isn't a dual purpose item it doesn't add to the load on the wardrobe. Many of the past minions like Phoever have also been really cute. So a few more that fit next years theme would be nice. The cut outs from other events have been really nice and I also liked the foreground items like the Veta Market items from Neugarten and the Topiaries from Vesnali or the Gourd Witch from Morostide. It would be fun to have tables or candles that are more romantic than the Gourd Witch or if we went for a more family and friends kind of love maybe games, crafts, or things that bring people together. As for the sanitizer suggestion Sopheroo may be right about it being a better fit for Medicontra but either way I think it would be fun if the item brought our hands together with soap bubbles like we are actually washing them.

But wait I can't forget skin requests. While I can understand the desire to not have any new ones for a year so people can catch up, and it won't bother me if this happened, I have almost everything I want. Mostly because I dislike the one I think are too gory or gross. So I cautiously wait to see what comes next year. What I would love to see if we do have new skins would be more like Pinkie Patch, Love Bug, Freckle Fever, Fevermore, or Butterfly Bruise. Or at the very least less gore and gross. Freckle Fever is really nice because it layers with other things and its almost like you can create your own skin. The other nice thing about it is how short the infection time is, so if we had more skins that were so simple it would give people like me new ones to collect and other people time to catch up.

Honestly I think everything should stay the same but maybe with less disease themed strains. Obviously the whole thing is disease themed somewhat, but there were years where you just turned into something food related or otherwise tame. We could just lean more into the romance/platonic love theme. The truth is, epidemics are always real issues. They just aren't usually in the limelight in the west since it generally affects poorer nations. If they keep the theme tasteful and make the art for the transformation less gorey or reminicsent of real disease I think it would be ok. I also think it's a great opportunity to acknowledge the reality of epidemics and would be a shame to not utilize.

There could be items like: -books and pamphlets spreading awareness -"thank you first responders + doctors + essential workers" signs

• research papers

-and unrelated: i would LOVE matching wearables you could wear with subeta friends

Here are some ideas I have for strains:

• a strain that turns you into a stuffed animal (like one you'd recieve on v day)
• strains based on goofy fictional disease (e.g. "dragon pox" from harry potter, "shame" from hitchhikers guide, lots from futurama such as "clownitis", "electric flu" from pokemon, "head pigeons" from invader zim, "the suds" from spongebob)
• strains that turn you into something related to inanimate objects like having a lightbulb head, a body made of shag carpet, or made of metal
• i would also love to see skins that in general are more usable. some that dont grow outside of the base or just affect certain parts of the base.

Throwing my hat in for more cutesy zombie skins! (or those based on Subeta lands)

Also support platonic love-theme items.

Could we have a dinosaur-inspired strain?

More fantasy and fun strains rather than... yeah. I LOVE the one that turns you into a moth and the one that turns you into a naked mole-rat. Those are excellent, not insensitive to real life stuff (because, yeah, we come here to escape), and provide skins with a lot of potential and fun. There's no downside to them and I love them a ton, lots of creativity can shine there.

Also, preferably not more kink gear, because I'm still bitter about that from last year. Between the site being for 13-year-olds and up ("but older items--" yeah? never said those weren't wrong) and the sheer tastelessness of releasing that stuff alongside pride stuff (which i LOVE seeing as part of celebrations of love), I don't want to see more. I want to see more celebration of different types of love and more pride items, for sure.

edit: Just saw the limb replacement thing and YES that fits really well. There's bound to be plenty of undead with missing body parts, so that fits thematically, gives HA makers more options, offers more representation for those who have prosthetics/want prosthetics/are in that general group... I like it a lot.

I'm all for strains to be around in 2021, but it would be nice if they weren't diseases per se, maybe more like.. beautiful transformations? :)

Let's go for more Subetan land inspired strains that are fantasy and whimsy, maybe nothing too grim or gorey this year. ^_^;

I also personally don't take offense to it being called the Pandemic as it's normally generally called Survival anyway and it's a years long established event. It would be in poor taste if they suddenly created a 'new' pandemic event but there's enough history and lore on subeta for even new users to realise that it's a tradition. In respect to people it may upset though they could rename it to just Survival and remove The Great Pandemic.

Though I’d be a little bummed out, I’d understand if we didn’t have new strains this year.

I second putting more focus on the Survival Memorial or making items that are themed around it rather than the usual valentines/zombie stuff. I wouldn’t mind a news post addressing the change in focus for this year either, if that’s what they intend to do.

I would love to see more collectible items (plushies, beanbags, trading cards) and pet-usable items (books and foods). Less wearables overall.

I missed last year but wasn't super bummed about it since I'm not a huge fan of a lot of last year's items. I think that having strains that aren't disease and flesh related are a good idea until the pandemic irl dies down, but of course still allow people to get the older skins.

I'm honestly ok with the Pandemic on here even with the current one going on. Even though people don't like real life to bleed into Subeta (especially the negatives) that doesn't mean I'm going to let whatever's going on in my life ruin my experience on here. The pandemic on Subeta is about zombies not a real disease (although the Heartburn strain was a bit controversial) so I don't see a problem with it but that's just me.

I'd love some strains/ items based off folklore or uban legends! Japan and Scandinavia have some good ones but I'm always all for more world-building!

This does sound fun but why only bachelors? I'm sure some users wouldn't mind dating some of Subeta's eligible ladies either. And, yes, more Rift lore is always good.

I'm also 100% in agreement with the idea of celebrating the different kinds of love other than romance. We definitely need to acknowledge family members, close friends and even self-love (not in a prideful sort of way but in a "I'm using this day to take care of myself so I'm at my best for others" kind of way). I think this is definitely a great way to handle the previous year since it's made a lot of us appreciate our loved ones more and learn to find ways to de-stress.

Also, can we get some ruby chocolate items in the Parlor? It became a new thing a couple years ago and I'm surprised Subeta hasn't jumped on it yet. I'd love to see what they do with it!

I actually had to search Ruby Chocolate...that looks super cool. Reminds me of the berry-chocolate wall in Animal Crossing.

I don't have a ton of suggestions except for more body mod options but I'm not creative enough to expand on how lol. OH or some items like the old Rose Thrones, those remodeled would be nice for the holiday. Boquet of roses, bouquet of sitting roses!

I will be really upset if there is no Survival because of real life. I pretty much only come back to Subeta around Valentine's Day, just for this.

I will always hope for a return of the organ harvesting mechanic they did one year. It was the coolest event I've ever experienced. I still have hundreds of stolen hearts, eyes, kidneys rotting in my vault.
