Oh it's going. I'm keeping busy. I ended up moving overseas, so I've been in Germany since last year. Certainly better than things were in the US. Back at ya!

Sorry I'm not on too much these days--I was largely on to keep DI running. I wouldn't mind joining in for fun again, but the new wardrobe doesn't seem to run well on my system.

Haha well they could always be going better. Because of Covid, everyone here got put on Kurzarbeit (so basically you work fewer hours than you normally would, getting paid for the hours you work and then the KA program additionally pays you like 60%-70% of what you would normally earn for the time you aren't actually working). The company just stopped doing it finally after like 7 months, but I think it's largely because things were really falling behind in production which was creating issues. Because if people are only allowed to work like one day a week, things kind of tend to fall behind and tensions get kind of high when people still expect you to make 100% of the things in 20% of the time. So there's issues going on there and we're trying to keep things moving as smoothly as they can. x.x

And yeah. Wardrobe is crazy. I made some drawers to make things a little easier but they don't seem to be working well. Won't let me make new drawers either.

ridiculous expectations - staff simply cannot do in 1 day something that takes 5 days. You either have to hire more people, reduce your expectations or work out some other solution. Just demanding the impossible isn't it.

Well yeah, that's my thinking as well, but the hiring wasn't going to happen since the point of the KA was to decrease the negative financial impact on companies (though not remove it entirely), so funds are still less fluid overall, so new hiring wasn't going to be a thing, but I think that with the general doom and gloom atmosphere and the stress, people generally were not as happy, and were turning out lower quality work overall, as well as just generally being more likely to have conflicts with each other. There were already issues with communication (or lack thereof) before, so I think the KA/covid situation exacerbated things, unfortunately, so that meant MORE problems, which then increased stress and the like more. On top of it, there is at least one person in the company who I know actively goes out of their way to cause problems. I don't know why, but they do. People have flat out quit because of it before, and I've hear other people talking about quitting because of it. So it's overall a concerning thing, due to the additional strain. It's not a huge company, so too many people quitting at once could deal quite a blow. There was some attempt to address some of the coordination/org issues and bring up the general lack of team spirit sort of thing a few times, but from what I've seen, not that much has actually been done to effectively make changes to fix the things that were addressed. Not only does that mean the same problems keep happening, it means that folks on a management level get more frustrated (what with seeing the same thing over and over), so that also contributes to a kind of worse work environment in my opinion, since then people are more inclined to lash out at each other more due to frustration than anything else. I'm rather lucky--my job is kind of everywhere and nowhere. I'm tied in with every department so I'm in touch with every department, but I'm not specifically part of any single department, which means that department-specific conflicts usually don't reach me. I just hear about them second-hand. I also have kind of completely lost faith in people actually organizing things on their own, so I usually go out of my way to kind of do that for them for the things that my work is tied into. That at least means that I can do my job for the most part, even if someone else messes up, so at least some of the disasters get averted. Obviously I can't do much about things completely out of my field though.

Well, I came close to using only ToT items. The only thing in the picture that isn't a ToT item is the lipstick.
