It was late when Biscuit limped into the cozy living room. He'd cut his paw earlier and though Annael and Missty had fussed over him and bandaged it and given him treats, it still hurt a bit and the young ruffie was tired and seeking comfort.

Mischief looked up and said, "I heard about your mishap. How are you?"

"Okay," Biscuit said, holding up his bandaged paw. "It'll just take it a couple of days to heal."

Nodding, Mischief said, "Well I promised you could make a wish today and I think you really need it now. I'll write the note for you if you want."

"Yes, please!" Biscuit said with a hint of his old eagerness. Then he paused before telling his wish. He'd already had treats so for once the Ruffie didn't want anything further at the moment. He glanced over at Mischief's beanbag. It looked nice and comfy, but to Biscuit one thing would make it even better. "I want a new plushie friend," he decided. "Please ask the special gift fairy if I could have to cuddle."

Smiling, Mischief wrote the note and then with very little urging, he herded Biscuit to bed, promising that his gift would be there waiting for him the next day.
