posting here for future updates
Hey all! I have been working on this for a while and I do indeed have an update on this and the wardrobe layer achievements!
The main problem is that these achievements involve a slow, expensive calculation to count your wardrobe items, that cannot be avoided. So I needed to come up with a way that wouldn't potentially cause server issues. I figured, at this point, any way to trigger it is better than having no way. So for now, I've deployed an update that gives you an "easy" way to trigger it from your wardrobe's items page.
STEP ONE: Make sure your filters are set to Items you own, and otherwise set to find all items:
STEP TWO: Wait for the results to load, and ... That's it! This will make the code update your achievement(s). The next time you load a page on the main site (subeta.net), you should see the achievements have updated counts.
Feel free to ping me with any questions or if it is not working correctly for you. Please be aware that site lag can affect this, just like everything else. There will likely be a lot of people trying to do it after this announcement, so if it is lagging for you, wait a bit and try again later, or in a day or two.
One question I have for you is: I think this is an "easy" enough way to trigger the achievement for now, but it's not intuitive at all. How can we make it clearer how to trigger them? I had a few ideas including:
I would really appreciate your ideas and suggestions for how to make this clear somewhere on-site!
Finally, I recognize this isn't the most ideal solution. It's the one I could bring to you soonest without potentially causing more issues with server strain. I want to let you know that, as continues making progress with server stability, it will enable us to code a way to have these achievements update automatically in the future non-problematically - which is a much better user experience!
Pinging because I know a lot of people have been waiting for an update on this.

thank you!
Is it possible to set those display filters as the default, so whenever you go into the Items tab it automatically lists like that with no need for user input? Then you wouldn't have to explain it.
[edit]it seems to be the default anyway unless I'm missing something...
Thank you!
I didn't find this a problem at all, and I think if I just visited my wardrobe normally it would have triggered the event as I didn't feel like I waited a long time for anything to load.
Haha yes - I was just about to say. I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it, but it's already the default.

Thanks, now I can finally remove the items I never intend to use X)
Thank you so much omg ಥ﹏ಥ
As to the "How do i put into descriptions": "Follow these steps {link}" Link is a forum post or w/e that has pictures of step by step what to do and also descriptive text of said pictures. Ghetto i know, but, it worrrrkssss.
This worked for the finger layer and back layer achievements but it's not triggering the arm layer achievement for me. I have 660 arm items but my achievement count is staying at 420/500.
Woo! After going through the layers, All of mine seem to have updated except for the 'Arms' layer?
Thank you so much, now I can finally remove the items that I don't need! This actually seems like a simple solution, and I think that it's fairly intuitive too (as well as automatic - as said, these are the standard settings, so if you go to your wardrobe to place items to your HA, you'll get an automatic update).
Thank you, this is great! I honestly think this is the simplest possible way to gain the achievement. If anyone visit theirbwardrobe to change their outfit, unless there's a great lag it's quite likely to load all by itself as there's no soecial button to press
You've earned the Filled Wardrobe achievement! You've earned the Filled Wardrobe achievement! You've earned the Filled Wardrobe achievement! You've earned the Filled Wardrobe achievement! You've earned the Filled Wardrobe achievement! You've earned the Filled Wardrobe achievement! You've earned the Filled Wardrobe achievement! You've earned the Filled Wardrobe achievement!
And now for the big clearout...
- the 'finger' layer and 'arm' layer count doesn't seem to be updating for me, unless I just need to be more patient? (I'm not due an achievement yet, but the count isn't updating as I add new items).
To make this new triggering system clear to other users, maybe a stickied post in the achievement forum? Users can then be directed there if they ask about it in the Help topics etc for a more detailed explanation.
Thank you! I'm so happy to finally have the last tier of the filled wardrobe achievement. I thought that process was very easy too, not sure how else you could trigger it.
The arm layer count isn't updating for me either.
Achievements

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
There use to be a sticky in the Achievement forum that listed various triggering locations for achievements. It actually looks like it's still linked to the sticky: [topic not found]. But it's so old! Maybe something we can work on recreating, and making sure to include the trick posted here about for the layers?
