oooh, that was a big ending! I was kinda right xD my first guess was that he was killed by belladonna poisoning before being stabbed, I even described the plant (and hemlock just in case) in that prompt we had to search for clues hahah (wrong belladonna, though :P)

Classically he’d said too much. Cin excused himself from Detective Andrews and made his way home. Somehow his own looming family estate was a comfort after the events of the day. Locking himself in his room he couldn’t bring himself to call the lead detective the next day. There were still too many questions, and what could a teenager hope to accomplish that the entire police department couldn’t? Instead he laid low and waited, paying close attention to the news. Poor Miranda. How her heart must be broken. To pass the time Cin learned how to fold a flower out of paper. His bedroom floor littered with them by the time Miranda’s letter reached him.

A chill ran up his spine as he read the accusation. Were all families as messed up as his own on the inside? Miranda seemed to have the right idea. Traveling would help, but returning would never be easy. The news hadn’t said anything about an arrest. Had Auntie really gotten away with murder? Suddenly the walls felt like they were closing in. It was time for Cin to take a walk outside. Maybe even leaving the city was a good idea. Once outside he took out his cell and made a call.

(( THANK YOU FOR THIS! I had a great time writing for the prompts and everything was so well set up. I can’t believe that bitch got away with it! -ahem- Hope to be able to participate in the next adventure you design for us :D This was a lot of fun. 10/10 would recommend. ))

Wow! Great fun :D.

I figured the chef was a red herring, but never really suspected the aunt. I thought maybe it was the laid back gardener hiding a crush even though I felt he was too old.

Thank you for doing this! And really appreciated my prize :D

And now I will announce the winner of the FINAL Raffle!

It is....

!

Congrats bab! I'll be sending you your prize shortly!

Also as a general announcement you might notice that this thread is now in giveaways so it will NOT be deleted at the end of Vesnali! All your hard work will be saved! Huge thanks to who gave me the idea to request it being moved. As a special thanks I'll be sending you a little something too ♥

And now that I know this thread isn't going anywhere I'd like to ask you guys a few things!

If I do something like this again, what sort of genre would you be interested in seeing? Would you prefer a continuation of Miranda's story? Or something new?

For the record after this giveaway and the rainbow one I'm also running I probably won't be able to do another one for a little while yet. I'm tentatively thinking maybe by Moros.

Also in regards to prizes, do you like something similar set up to this where there is an exclusive CW that can only be won in the event or would you prefer prizes that aren't exclusive? Would you prefer to see more prizes but of lesser value (as in no CWs but probably something like smaller denomination CSC gift cards or the like)?

I'd like to see something new, not as usual as an adventure, maybe another genre like romance for survival... It'd be hard to control the interactions, but maybe something conducted as a Bachelor reality, where the heart of the main character (who is pan) needs to be conquered by the contestants (participants), with prompts like poem-writing, ideal date...

As for the prizes, maybe paid slots for the exclusive CW could be accessible to people who participated in all the prompts, but I do like the exclusivity of it, though if you do something like this another time, where the CW is exclusive to the winners, I have a suggestion that it'd be nice to have more prompts with judgement (like the HA contest), not just a raffle (like all the other prompts). Let the fate decide the grand prize, and the dressing/writing/comedy/creativity skills to the prompts.

Lastly, I really enjoyed your event and appreciate your huge giveaways, thank you for hosting them <3

Also in regards to prizes... I don't care about prizes. Now don't get me wrong, I love and appreciate getting prizes, but its not why I play. A well thought out gift box of inexpensive items (for example, some roses, a chef knife, tea and some dainties would have been a great chapter prize for this event, plus maybe one bigger grand prize item).

For anything else, whatever makes it easier on you! You're doing the work - writing the main story, reading all the replies and adjusting/revealing story issues, gathering/buying prizes, judging mini contests (and that can be really taxing). If draws are easier - do that. If only giving out a few prizes at the end works better - then do that. You're doing the work and I want it to be as easy as possible for you so you won't burnout. Selfishly, I want more and I'm likelier to get that if its as easy as possible for you.

Again - thank you so much for all the work you've put into entertaining me :D.

I think you should continue to connect Subeta holidays to the themes of your events (Vesnali and a garden tea party setting, etc).

Also in regards to prizes, do you like something similar set up to this where there is an exclusive CW that can only be won in the event or would you prefer prizes that aren't exclusive? I don't really have strong preferences about this, but it is cool to be able to win exclusive prizes. I thought it was nice that the CW dress prizes tied-in with the OC dresses from your story.

I personally don't release privates or exclusives. When I do events that are winnable, the prize is a free copy, participants get paid slots, and the item unlocks one year after the event. But that's just the way I roll.

I know you do want your prizes to be exclusive to your events, but since the prize copies are free, why not offer paid slots to all participants? Getting a free CW that I really like is enough of a prize for me, and enough to satisfy most people, I think!

IDK whether the reason you can't do another one till Moros is lack of time or lack of money, but allowing some people to pay for copies would help defray the cost of the free ones if money is any part of it.

I really like the idea of a bachelor/bachelorette style event for Survival.

OMG, I won! My luck has really turned recently. This was so fun, even though I wasn't keeping up towards the end because work got h e c t i c (mainly because I made some improper calculations and ruined about a month of work with my stupidity).

I'd love to see events like this again, with new and interesting characters. Reading the story was super fun, even though my little assassin girl was kinda absent through most of the story.

I like the idea of exclusive CWs (especially since I won, lol), but I agree that it should be like everyone in the event has a chance to slot on a copy, but random raffle winners get their copies for free. Instead of flowering or whatever, if someone participated in x prompts (however many you want), they are able to slot.

Thank you so much for the fun and for being so generous - too all of us and thank you so much again for my wonderful gift! <3 <3 <3

Whatever you decide to install as a writing game, I am in. Most important thing is that it is a theme you like so your heart is in it like with the crime now. I wouldn't mind an adventure without bloodshed and murder, though, however, if you do a Moro event, this would naturally fit, LOL. ^-^

Also, congrats to my birthday twin !!!

Since a lot of people mentioned this particular point already I think in the future I might allow slotters on the event CW to those who participated in writing prompts since that seems to be the general consensus. I don't want anyone to feel left out, that wasn't my intention. I just wanted to have something that would be a little extra special. We'll see what the future brings though.

I have to say I really like the idea of a Bachelor sort of set up. Kind of giving me ideas for something already. It wouldn't be a strict story line but it definitely a lot of fun potential.

I thought about having more 'skill based awards' but ultimately decided against it in terms of writing at least. There are a lot of people here of many different writing levels. I didn't want anyone to think what they wrote wouldn't be good enough, or get discouraged looking at other responses. I wanted people to have fun with it and for everyone to feel liek they had an equal chance of winning no matter their personal writing level.

I might be open to include more HA contests in the future with these where a direct winner is picked as opposed to a raffle though as I feel HA creation is definitely something we're all on equal fields on!

Some smaller themes gift bundle certainly seems fun! Though knowing me I'd probably still keep all the big prizes and just have the prize packs in addition.

And for the CW tie in I think it's something I'd like to continue. I like the idea of it being related to the story event. Next time though whatever I do I hope to make the event prize something that more plot relevant in the future.

Short answer. Yes it's the money. Slightly longer I have VERY recently given away 33 CWs and probably over 100milSP in site items across the two events I did, this does not include recent birthday presents I've given to friends or the 3 future winners of my recolor raffle which will include a free slot for them as well as me paying an artist for the recolor. I need to take a break from it.

Even if I allow slotting to make up the difference it's still a risk. Always with CWs it can be hard to gauge what will be popular. If I do another big raffle and don't get enough slotters to offset prizes before I feel I'm ready to do so it'll be no bueno for me. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE giving things away. I love holding crazy raffles and contests. It bring ME joy to see other people excited to get something fun! But I feel like a few months between my big crazy ones is adequate. It also ensures I'll be able to cover a slot or here and there on my own releases that don't fill completely as well as do fun birthday releases for my friends!

This will also give me time to streamline my process and plan things out to be a smooth as possible. I also want to create art for it as well so it's JUST as spectacular as any site event.

I will say that something Bachelor related IS starting to brew in my brain. But for Moros >D We'll see how it goes.

TBH I just pictured your assassin girl just hiding out from all the popo.

I think that's kind of the route I'm looking for. Like if there are five prompts you must respond to two of them to qualify for slotting or something along those lines. It's a work in progress

I've already got some ideas spinning for the Moro even and it'll definitely be more humor orientated I think!

oh my gosh a trick or treating spooky plot for Moro :O i'd be totally in for something like that.

yes to different stories (although if taking down Belladonna is involved in the next one = HECKS YES), but the same characters during different subeta events could also be fun, whatever is easier for you. any genre is fine by me, but having that mystery element is always interesting, i love getting shocked at the end ^^

prizes wise it's ultimately up to you, whether it's a simple themed giftbox or awesome CWs, the fun part is participating. the prize is just the bonus :)

my one teensy tiny selfish suggestion would be to include the cut-off time for each chapter with the prompt. i was often worried i'd be too slow, and thought if i posted a 'check in' then i might procrastinate until the next night and miss my chance to write something for the prompt ><

thanks again for hosting ❤ i thought it was wonderful~
