Support. I'm not always on board with these requests to change things but this one is a pretty large oof indeed, especially the pink and black ones. I don't think the others would be problematic on their own; they're not particularly clever or interesting but they seem pretty harmless in the context of a zombie clothing item called a "scrap".
I never even read the descriptions before. I didn't realise they were that bad. Considering some of the other items on this site, especially the new items this year, I think they should be changed to something more positive.
Like, there are a ton of words like that (slut, whore, tramp, harlot, etc.) and they're all geared toward tearing women down.
Add 'hussey' to that list too.

Totally. The reason I didn't include it in my post was because I thought it was implied considering the subject matter. Also, there are a lot of synonyms and I didn't want to list them all. Seriously, go to an online dictionary and look at synonyms for 'slut.' 'Hussy' is on there. And, oh, Dictionary.com also lists the synonyms for 'bitch' and 'cunt' along with it! How helpful! And by helpful I mean extremely telling. Does that prove my point or what.
Oh dear... Please remember to stay on topic and respond to the thread and not other users. Thank you!

These tops are really cute. They may not be modest, but I do agree those descriptions need to be changed 😬
The black one is offensive. I don't find the other ones offensive or slut shaming, because they can also refer to other things/contexts. You know, like someone not wanting to wear scraps of clothing / finding the scrap disgusting because it's physically dirty from being found and preferring to wear more clothes.
The Blue and Green descriptions are fine. Suited to the idea that this is kinda tatty clothing. The Black and Pink ones though... Yeah. Those need changing.
Full support!
While the blue, green and white, are okay, I think if you include the context of the black and pink, they are nearly as bad. If the black and pink are changed, the other colors can stand as they are.
Confession time! I almost never read the descriptions when items first come out. I guess I really should :P.

I don't know why nobody addressed concerns about the item descriptions way back when, if they had that much of a problem with it. i'm just as baffled as everyone here, make no mistake. I don't think there was ever an ill-willed intent on behalf of whoever came up with the item descriptions. Otherwise I don't think it would have been given the okay by staff--as someone said, 7 years from then and now isn't nearly that much time difference--but maybe it was given the green light because staff felt it was fine.
I'm not bothered by the descriptions, because they describe exactly what the item is, skimpy dresswear. Any implications is up for discretion, and clearly I'm not part of that majority. If staff agrees to change the descriptions, by all means, do so.

[/box]The Black shirt is not good & Pink could also be better. Change them up!
Think Blue & Green could be ok, since they're supposed to be scraps of garbage. :d White's ok on its own, since there're a lot of zombie drool jokes... unless it's a joke about getting white shirts wet to see what's underneath?
I certainly wouldn't care if they were all changed.
That's a good question. The answer? shruuugs
I will say, the items were released in 2013. I know you say that 7 years isn't that long, but 7 years is the difference between a 16 year old and a 23 year old. A high school student and a college graduate. A lot of personal growth can happen in that span of time! The mentality of a userbase can change a lot over time too. I hate to reference Tumblr, silly place that it is, but I saw it go from 'lol night blogging' to 'SuperWhoLock' to 'Antis' over a span of... however many years. (It may have been 7, since the article for 'night blogging' on Know Your Meme is from 2013! And I should say; I'm not making value judgments on any of these phases. I'm simply pointing out that fandom there is different now than it was in the past.) It's not unheard of for someone to think something is funny at one point in their life and then change their mind further down the line.
Also, if the posts here are anything to go by, a lot of people just didn't see the descriptions for these items. Haha.
Yeah, these could definitely use an update, adding support.
Yeah no, those need to go. I don't read descriptions, as does, it seems, do many other people, which is probably why it got through, or at least took as long as it did for someone to say something about it. we get what, several dozen new items each holiday, plus the event itself taking up time away from someone wanting to learn the deep lore of a pink cloth scrap.
(also big yikes at this thread, but as per staff post I will not directly respond or comment further)
