Seems like blocking earth is a necessity. But which secondary icon(s) do you suppose? Dark/physical? Or is it more important to parch away those freezes?

Maybe try Cronus, even though magma isn't a major major icon, the speed boosting helps with the crits. Also definitely use parched for the freeze protection.

You may have missed it in my post, but Vine Snare can definitely freeze you often. I used half freeze protection mods on my main weapons (Maniacal Slappy Hand + Cronus Blade).

dunno if you have it Scott, but the Maniacal Essence blocks all dark. I have an Ornamental Hook Swords and that blocks all Earth. Between them they have eight mod slots. With Magentawhimsy, I can outspeed this thing, so I'm only gonna use four of those to prevent freeze and four for physical defense
