I've been zapping the same pet with the regular zapper since the challenger was announced and I still haven't unlocked him! If it does automatically unlock at some point, I must be getting close. I wish I'd kept track of how many zaps it's been so far. I've had alerts on and everything, kind of surprised it still hasn't triggered yet. I've zapped into a couple of experiments so far, but no Chibi pets. I won't even be able to fight him once he unlocks, I've just spent way too many wizard tokens to stop now!
Turns out he drops fire eyes too, it was just RNG that I didn't get one. So it looks like he drops all offensive EoR crystals.
this is like the best news just need to zap until i get him

I have been zapping every time my alert has gone off while still awake, so most of the day and night, and still nothing! This is rally frustrating.
