Anyways I'm bummed we didn't get the pirates because I wanted to try the Captain since I couldn't beat him last year ): but then again I've been soooooo busy this past week my head's reeling so idk if I have much right to worry about it... Hopefully we do get to fight them later like the news post alluded! I'm moreso bummed that the expensive ToT items on my WL didn't go down in price through the quest goodies lmao.

Well, at least I got most of what I wanted done. Also managed to get two pets to T10. Now to catch up on battles before the next holiday hits. lol

Thoughts, in no particular order:

• Damn, those are some shiny drops.
• Both of these challengers were really fun to fight. The way Daemon is focused around tanking the Blue Infernos makes the battle really feel tactical—mod crystals are suddenly totally relevant when you're defending against one big weapon and not an average of the opponent's, and getting the right setup makes a huge difference, yet doubles and crits hit so hard anyway that other parts of battling (blasting/timing your clutch heals/investing in just that little bit more speed) all still matter. Meanwhile the wild oscillations of Cozcoatl's low health/high heal—especially coming right after Daemon's high health and no heal—give it a really different feel from most of the other challengers (and when I finally got consistent results it was with a strategy I'd never tried before). Seeing playstyle emerge from mechanics is very, very cool.
• I got my last win on Cozcoatl at 11:58 with 2 HP remaining. If I were superstitious I'd start buying lottery tickets.

How many challengers do they usually bring back for Morostide? And do you think they'll bring back any of the new ones from last year? I sort of hope that Wurlm creature becomes a regular Morostide challenger, I want to get revenge on it for making me worry too much during last year's plot X)

Did they buff crithbolcan in BQs the last year or two? I swear he used to be a freebie back when I had like...3000 less stat points and now I’m getting whooped :x

there are 16 Morostide challengers, they usually bring back about half a dozen from what I remember (someone correct me, my memory is terrible). Given that the pool is already pretty big I don't think they'll add any of the plot opponents to it, but they might do.

Deathly Harbinger, Scary Chairy, Spider, Candy Scorn, Lingering Haunt, Pumpkin Patch Goblin, Torchbearer, Wolve, Carrion Lord, Eager Dentist, Umbrus, Mirror Ghoul, Nightlady, Organ Collector, Devora and Rouland.

Nightlady and Rouland are the ones everyone wants to see, Nightlady drops Shriek scrolls and the achievement for whupping Rouland ten times gives the Manifesting Weapon. We had both of them last year, I'm not sure if they're guaranteed or not.

We'd better get Rouland! I was only three wins away from the MW last year! :D

I know that not all of the challengers are always guaranteed, because there are so many they do kind of rotate them around. But I think they have brought back Rouland every year for a while now, so he's almost guaranteed I think, especially since he's only available for a day or two usually anyway.

(At least I'm also really hoping we get him for sure this year, since I'm only 5 wins away myself lol :P)

I don't know, maybe they'll have all previous challengers, or maybe they'll bring some of the new ones from last year but not some of the older ones, I guess we'll just have to see.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of us then. Typing will be a pain, but it'll be worth it to finally have a MW. :)

Haneul is still probably not quite ready for Rouland. But I dunno, maybe he is...if I manage to borrow weapons...Nightlady for sure though, he beat her last year and we got one scroll off her
