Seconding (well thirding, fourthing?) the request to add the dropdown for each item. I almost never need to mass move items to a single category; I usually need to add 40-50 items to the correct one of 82 categories :)

Thank you for the quick fixes! I'm no longer scared of deleting tons of wishlist items. XD
Maybe a compromise would be better? A combination of the two systems (either on the same page or separate pages) with both the individual dropdowns and the bottom dropdown.
A 'check all' checkbox would be helpful as well - I just went to update my wishlist and only had the 6 new beanbags on it, so being able to check them all off to go to the beanbag section would have been handy. ^^ Apparently I'm blind! New suggestion: Move the 'select all' checkbox to the bottom of the page and make it as similar to the vault in terms of formatting as possible. That was what I'm familiar with and partially why I didn't see it. XD
I'd also like to suggest that all the checkboxes be placed at a common height with no links on the same level. I use Snap Links (which also serves as a checkbox checker) to check multiple boxes at a time which is super helpful for things like the Fragmentizer or the new wishlists, but it also opens links which kind of ruins the whole thing when they're in the way. x) Having all the boxes at the same height could really speed things up!
Oh man, I looked for it twice and even ctrl-f'd 'check' but didn't see it because it says 'select'. XD Yeah, I'll edit that to say to move it down. Thanks!
Really not liking the change.

Regardless of any other changes and tweaks that are going to be made I'm actually a huge fan of 'mass add/remove' function for the wishlists, i've been wistfully thinking of one for a while Now if only you could mass remove items from TCs :')
(Tl;dr: The dropdowns will be back soon!)
For those wondering why this change was made: it was a user suggestion and I had no way to foresee the problems that would come up. My apologies!
Now I can see this is a situation where it's best to have both options available for usability, so I am working on bringing the old dropdowns back while keeping the bulk-move option for those who prefer it.

thank you for deciding to bring the individual dropdowns back! i can see the benefit of the mass-add option, but i mostly find the new system hugely frustrating and sooo time-consuming, so having the old version back is fantastic ❤

Thank you so very much for bringing back the menus!
I like the combo of the two! :D Thank you! This makes it easier to mass-move stuff while also keeping all of the functionality of the original system.

I’ve been a bit inactive for a little while (rl, yay) so I haven’t paid much attention to a whole lot, but today I was finally able to do a bit more on here. I saw the WL updates today and I have to say I am super impressed! I made the suggestion and you don’t know how happy I am that it’s going to be so much easier to go through my scary huge Unsorted section. Thank you so much!
TL;DR: You’re amazing and I love the new update
I still find the change confusing. I select each category for each item and I make it to the bottom of the page to find two options: save wishlist changes and "bulk categorize or remove selected items:" with the button "bulk edit wishlist"
the second option sticks out farther and overshadows the first option, not to mention since I am categorizing my wishlist, I see that button and think it's what I want. It's not. more than once I've selected a category for each of my items then hit the option to bulk categorize and... it refreshes the page and my items don't move from unsorted. Because what is actually meant to move the items is "save wishlist changes"
Idk the whole wording and options are confusing to me and I keep making the same mistake. Not sure if anyone else struggles with it but if it's just me I suppose I'll eventually learn how it works.
