I agree with everything everyone here has said. (Except Kisrah, who for some reason likes this change.)
I have a wishlist with 82 categories, and several of those categories are owned list categories.
I don't want to remove any CWs from my wishlist by accident because they go in my owned lists (which are separated into gifts/privates, no offers, and offers OK, because I am not willing to sell more than 95% of my CWs).
If I am going through other people's wls to buy them presents and find things I want, and there's also an event going on with a bunch of new items released not only in currency shops and the cash shop but also multiple quest shops/loyalty shops that are related, I do not want to have to go through my unsorted page 82 times, mess up at least once and have to get those items out of the wrong list into the right list, and accidentally delete at least 2-3 items.
The way it was before, I occasionally made mistakes like every other human, but I didn't delete anything by accident because that was the only thing you had to check a box for, and I only had to save my changes ONCE after putting everything in the right place using the dropdowns.

I like the idea behind the mass-move feature, but the implementation will just cost me more time and energy than the previous version as I have a lot of categories. I'm also very certain I'll accidentally delete a whole load of items off my wishlist at once and have no idea what went missing or how to fix it. To me, that's dangerous.
I'd much prefer a toggle to access this page for when users want to move items en masse. Day to day, it's much less helpful, even if this was a frequent suggestion.
I like the idea of mass sorting things, but I generally keep my stuff tidy, so I will only have like 10 items to go to different categories at a given time. So instead of click drop submit, it is now click, submit, click submit, click submit. Not sure how I feel on it, since I only tried it the once. Maybe with less things it would not be so annoying?. But I would certainly not mind having the choice to have the old drop down and or the mass sort. Dunno if that is impossible to code, however.
^ This so much.
I had recategorized my whole wishlist to work on an alphanumeric system where I could just click through and put things in wishlist 1, 2, 3, A, B, C, etc.. and they would be organized based on where the item goes, but this new dropdown list completely messes with that. I spent time reorganizing my wishlist so that I had owned CWs, wanted CWs and non-cw items in neat little lists that were easy to access (albeit with a bunch of tabs in between to get to the different dropdowns) but that system worked and now this one is just a mess and would make me not want to organize my wishlist anymore because of the "Move to Category".
I find the "Move to Category" thing to be absolutely unnecessary, if that was removed and it would go back to being able to select A, for it to go to whatever WL started with the letter A etc.. even with this mass select option, I think that would be fine. I don't care so much about the multiple categories at once. I mean yes, in the past I used to take advantage of the old system and organize my unsorted into multiple categories at once, but it doesn't bother me so much that I can't do that, it bothers me more that I can't move item x into F wishlist because selecting F in the dropdown doesn't automatically select the first item with the letter F (which for me is F - Shoes) etc...
If there was a way to bring both worlds, where I can type in C and in the drop-down list and it would select that wishlist (while doing the multiple checkboxes) I'm fine with that, but this new change really makes organizing my wishlist a huge pain. And I really would prefer this feature be reverted to the old one if I can't select a number or letter and it reflect that in the dropdown.
I also vote to remove the "remove from wishlist" option on the dropdown. I would never use it intentionally and if I do use it, that would likely be accidental. When I want to remove an item I just use the link from the hover because that's the fastest and easiest way for me to remove something anyway.
Ps. I'm writing this late at night and am trying to figure out how to explain what I mean but I do apologize if this comes off as confusing, I'll try to reread and reword it if necessary tomorrow.
Edit: I just checked it out, I would still have to do tab tab tab click in order to move things en masse quickly, so that defeats the purpose, with the old method I could just do tab tab tab A, tab tab tab 1, then do that for everything in my unsorted (or other wishlist category) and then click the "move" button once to send everything to it's rightful place so this makes reorganizing even more of a pain than I assume was intended to.
The more I think about it, the less I seem to understand how this is meant to be used as a mass sort option. We could already do that basically with the old one, couldn't we? Choose a new category for each item we wanted to move, and then click the update button or whatever? Now we basically still have to do the same thing by going through and checking each item we want to move, except now we can only choose one category at a time to move them to instead of multiple categories. So that really doesn't seem like it's as useful as the older version.
I know I already posted here, but I'm just trying to understand what's supposed to be better about this update, because right now I can't see it. :c
But I tend to move items in groups anyway, so this works well for me. It's much easier to click a bunch of checkboxes and move items instead of having to double-check which category each item belongs in and which order they're in
I like the new mass-move - sorting anything before gave me wrist-ache if I didn't use a work-around, with all the clicking and scrolling - so I'd hate to see it removed, but I'd like the drop-down that was below the items returned for when I only have a couple to sort.
I think it's only useful as a mass sorter if you are dumping things into one category. Checking off boxes and using a drop down once instead of picking from a drop down for each item (and getting it wrong sometimes) seems like something I actually did want a couple of times.
But I imagine if you were dealing with more than one category, or several, then it does actually become tedious.
This new change is so time-consuming. With the old way, I could organize all of my unsorted items in one go-around taking no more than a minute or two. Now, because of how I have my categories set up, I have to go through my unsorted category at least 10 times, which takes significantly longer. I've also found that I'm making more mistakes with my sorting this way 😭
Please either change it back 😭
Yeah, based one some of the feedback here, it seems like it fixed one problem but now has created another. Like you said, for people who need to move things to multiple different categories, you'll still have to do just as much clicking and scrolling as before.
I think it would be nice if we could somehow have both, keep the individual drop downs on the main category pages and maybe have some sort of separate page. Or have a toggle option on the category pages for mass-sort or individual sort, if that's possible, so you can switch based on what you're doing.
Also I definitely agree that having the "remove from wishlist" as the default option in the drop down was a weird choice, and could lead to a lot of accidental removals.
Thank you for the great feedback and suggestions on the recent wishlist changes! As with most areas of the website, we are always open to and appreciate feedback to help us continue to make improvements.
I super appreciate this topic; there are some really great insights and suggestions here for how to address the new problems that have come up from this update. I'd like to ask for your patience and understanding as I take some time to comb through this topic in detail and figure out where to go from here. <3

Two quick wishlist changes for now:
"Remove from wishlist" has been moved to the bottom of the dropdown. Nothing is selected by default.
The "Move to category:" part was removed, so now you can use your keyboard to quickly select categories again.
More in-depth changes to come :)

When you are able to work on it some more, please please pretty please add the drop down under each item back if that's possible.

Thank you for those two most important changes! I'd definitely still like to have a way to move to multiple categories at once again, but even just these fixes are monumentally better and make my organizing much easier again ❤️
Please bring back the dropdown list under the items. Its easier and quicker to sort items out. This new method makes sorting time-consuming, and I do not like having to take 10 minutes for something I could have done under 2.
Positive note - I do like how the private sections are highlighted by grey color.
WHAT THE HECK I'm sorry this makes sorting things way more annoying. I generally add a bunch of stuff to my wl then go in and sort all those newly added things in one fell swoop. But now I'll have to go through several times instead of just once. Who thought this was a good idea? Put it back the way it was ;A;
I'd really love to see this option back too! Super grateful for the change on the drop-down though! Tysm! <3
Yesss, the dropdown makes me much less nervous now when moving WL items between categories, and I can once again use my keyboard for quick category selection! I like this much better.
I'm still not 100% behind it because it feels so different compared to the old way where I could categorize everything in many different categories, all in one fell swoop, but it's definitely better! Certainly going to come in handy for those times when I mass-wishlist a lot of holiday-specific items and want to move them into a holiday-specific category. :P Less so for all the times when I randomly wishlist a smorgasbord of things that all belong in different categories.
