My father is a carpenter and crafted my cradle and then my bed. It was a simple rope-lattice four-poster bed frame. Mother crafted the mattress with a light-weight ticking that was just right for a little weasel-girl. WE couldn't afford goose down, so Timothy hay filled the mattress. Fitted sheets are not available so two sheets are used, you have to learn as a child how to miter a corner and my mother would bounce a silver piece on my bottom sheet to see if it was tight enough. If the coin bounced back up to her paw without her having to stoop to catch, it was good enough to sleep on. A crazy-quilt blanket was passed down from my sister Fritzi to me and a candle-wick designed bedspread covered it all and made my bed look pretty. The best part of my bed was my pillow which was stuffed with feathers. Mommy sprinkled lavender water on my sheets every night just before she tucked me in, to calm my little ADHD brain enough to go to sleep. Sleeping on hay is a very soothing rest.

Hi everybody! It's been a not-so-great week for me, and I'm glad it's pretty much over. I'm looking forward to a fresh start on Monday. (Just to show how bad it is: I'ts 6:30 Sunday morning, I'm out of bed because Lizzie threw up on my side, and I'm eating Christmas candy as if my life depended on it, all the while thinking that it is Monday.)

Sorry for not commenting on your posts much this week, but I've barely been on here. I've tried to quest a couple of times, but there is still a lot of lag, at least for me, and in my current frame of mind, I just couldn't handle it.

I finished my latest cross-stitch project last night. asked me to post a photo, so here it is below. The floss is a variegated one, going from very bright red to nearly black, and it was fun to use. The photo doesn't really show it, but the fabric has silver sparkles worked in throughout it. It's about 9 inches tall by 5 inches wide (23 centimeters by 13 centimeters).

-Fall Putting up the tree is such fun! We can't have a tree because of one of our cats. Even though he is now 7 years old and 18 pounds, he still tries to climb it. I tried again last year, thinking he would be mature enough, but no. 😆

Happy Fireside, everyone! After having my first two attempts foiled by being stolen by a jollin, I've had great luck with Red Rreign prizes. I do wish the floating items were more frequent, though, but I have managed to get a complete set of the Blob Kitty beanbags and the giant Rreign dolls.

We're celebrating Thanksgiving today, as it's Bryan's day off and he works Thanksgiving. I expect to be in a food coma in about three hours! 😆

Anyone taken advantage of the Black Friday sale yet? I bought several backdrops that I'd been eyeing.
