1. The food. I love Christmas ham, the fattier the better, I could eat it with potato casarole all year long but it still remains a Christmas only meal
2. The music. I would sing Christmas songs year around if it was socially acceptable

1. My aunt from Colorado flies over each Christmas so it's really the only time I see her. While we have different opinions about certain topics (ie. gluten/gmos is the reason you have depression and anxiety... sigh) I do love her and she never fails to brighten my mood.

3. I don't feel bad about sleeping in because everyone else is doing it too...lol

What I love about the holidays (I'm not Christian and I don't have much family, so don't feel bad that these are the things I picked, OK?

1. Time off work

2. People seem cheerier and more relaxed, except when you're in a store

3. SALES

4. Peppermint and white chocolate. Everywhere. Even the weed dispensary had a peppermint bark bar. Needless to say, I'm working my way through it slowly--it helps me sleep, but it's so delicious.

Luminaire on Subeta is so amazing.

1. I'm always surprised in a good way when I open my presents. I don't just mean the stuff, either. I'm always astounded by the number of things I get from people I barely know. That lets me know that I'm doing a good job at being the kind of person I want to be here, and helping others enjoy the site like I do.

2. I can actually afford to spoil my friends online. :) IRL it's a little more difficult, both because of the distances between us (not knowing what someone has, not knowing the right size, shipping) and the cost. $50 goes a lot further on Subeta than it does IRL, lol.

3. I love Melody's Cottage, and the Melody story is amazing. And not too close to any IRL religion, which is nice.

1. My family getting together to open presents and eat food. It's usually the only time there's a lot less bickering; Also spending time with the family friend's, my bf has even gotten a few of them into board/card games.
2. The colder season, I just wish we had snow in Texas

1. Decorating my tree in RL. We have so many different ornaments that we've bought over the years, and it's fun to reminisce when we put them on the tree.
2. Days off to spend with my family, friends and dogs. I'm off today and we're getting ready to go walk our dogs right now.
3. The love, kindness and happiness that I see all around.

Thank you for hosting this. I had written a big post and managed to navigate away ;-; So I guess here we go again.

Normally Christmas is a pretty low key affair, full of cosy jumpers, fun films, silly presents, and an absolutely ridiculous amount of roast potatoes. This year has been very difficult, and very hard. I have spent most of my time in my local hospice since the 19th of December trying to enjoy the little moments with my mum.

1. Christmas Dinner - Roast potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, yorkshire pudding...etc. Absolutely love it. I like to cook and I normally throw on my Christmas Crooners playlist and potter about in the kitchen.
2. Spending time with my family - My mum and I are super close, and usually we do alternate Christmases, one year I go down to London to spend time with my Dad's side of the family. I'm very lucky because I basically get two Christmases (and 2 Christmas dinners)!
3. Subeta's lumi trees - this year particularly, lumi on subeta has been a great opportunity to escape real life for a while.
4. Home alone 1 and 2 - my go to Christmas films and they always cheer me up and get me in the mood for Christmas
5. Cosy, warm, lovely (and ugly) jumpers :) Love me some gross Christmas wears <3
