3 Things about the Holidays I love:

1.Getting time to spend a few hours, unplugged, with my friends and family. For a few hours, we are all together. 2. I LOVE gifting people here on Subeta during Lumi! It makes me so dang happy, and proud, to be able to spread cheer to some people who might not get much cheer IRL. 3. ALL the treats and foods and goodies that I get to eat! I really, really love food!

Three things I like about the holidays are:

1. Christmas lights and decorations.~ I love looking at houses all decked out for Christmas with light shows and the like. I also like houses with little decorations here and there.

2. Wrapping presents.~ I apparently have more of a knack for gift bag set up, but I love looking at wrapping paper and deciding what presents get wrapped in which paper. Also the sound of scissors shearing right through the paper is just--amazing.

3. Gift giving.~ I love seeing the people whose gifts I put a lot of thought into get loved and cherished, and letting them know that I was thinking about them with said gift. I also love the feeling of randomly gifting a total stranger (on here), anonymous or not, and giving them some obvious big ticket item from their wishlist, then seeing them freak out over it in the happiest of ways. -- I'd like to be put in the drawing for:

The 3 things I enjoy the moooostest during this period of the year have to be:

• Curating gift packages for my loved ones!! Being sneaky and finding their wishlists and then making sure everything matches heehee, gotta have a theme and be surprising!!
• Cooking food / hosting a party again for family and friends, I just really really love making recipes, listening to music and playing games until everyone goes to sleep!!
• Decorating and taking pictures! As I am a photographer for a living for over a decade now, sometimes I take breaks and not take so many pictures of my own life / stuff but whenever the Holidays come around I get giddy and merry and just put lots of cute things all over outside and inside and then make little scenes and snap shots of it for future memories!! ❤️

My favorite thing about the holidays is being with my siblings and my little brother being here with me for Christmas since he's out of school (high school). He's 14 and a brat but I feel more calm when he's with us/ more safe. I like listening to holiday music especially https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UV8x7H3DD8Y and i like eating food lol D= i love snacking on chocolate and eating prime rib and all the fixings and just relaxing on the sofa. lol this gif is so funny and i love the grinch :P

1. It's a strange thing to like about the holidays but I LOVE yule logs on TV. They're so calm and ridiculous, they make me very happy. I even have a yule log DVD lol
2. Up until this year I loved the Doctor Who annual Christmas special. There was no new special this Christmas so I settled for re-watching old specials lol
3. Honestly, one of my favorite things about the Holiday season is subeta. I'm always overwhelmed by the generosity you see here this time of the year and it renews my faith in people every year ;)

I love these things about Lumi and Christmas:

1. Baking cookies I'm so proud that my grandma gave me her personal family recipe for her cookies. I felt like a 7-year-old again while making them. So much laughter and feelings it's wonderful!
2. Lumi here on Subeta To be earnest - I've accidentally married a grinch. The tree I'm allowed to put up is 40cm high and I have a few tablecloths that are okay for him - nothing more. Lumi here on Subeta gives me all the Xmas feelings I need and can wish for. The people are so nice and helpful, you can always have a nice talk and Lumi is always a blast!
3. Christmas Markets here in Cologne/Germany We have some really wonderful and beautiful Christmas Markets in our City and I love to visit them with my friends and sometimes I manage to even get my lovely Grinch there.

I love the time off (I don't usually get a lot of vacation, so the office closing between christmas and new year is a big plus for me), I love going home for a couple of days (I live on my own, but each year around christmas, I go to stay with my mom for a few days, it's like the best "hotel" ever), and I love the general atmosphere around the holiday (both in RL and online, people seem a lot more friendly and caring towards each other).

Had to be a cat image, since I'm getting a new kitty somewhere in January. :D

3 things I like about the holiday season: 1-Gismo's (my hairless sphynx cat) birthday is the 22nd. My mother sends him a card in the mail every year... I read it to him and he sniffs at the paper knowing her sent, at one point tries to chew it and that's when it goes on the display rack. Over 15 years ago when I first moved to university she started a tradition of sending me cards, positive thoughts, little gifts, etc. through the mail so it wouldn't be as depressing checking and just getting junk mail. She's still doing it ❤ She also makes special holiday cards for the merchants she visits on a regular basis (something they look forward to every year) and takes time to send relatives cards when most don't or have stopped to let them know they're important... helping break social isolation and bringing joy to anyone she can. 2-Trying to brighten other people's days. Ok, I try to year-round but it's a time of year most tend to try to do something extra. I also like recieving extra help. It's the time of year I get a Christmas basket at the food bank (got 2 chickens as extra this year) and was accorded a special service: delivery of the basket, which avoided 3hr travel to get it and health probs that would have ensued. Although I have a small income, I don't let it stop me from doing things for others. Subeta-wise I organized events when others weren't able to this Lumi to make sure the joyful traditions continue (ETs & Secret Shark Santa). I grew my own herbs this year and gave some as gifts to thank people that helped me as well as family members. I called people up to wish them a Merry Christmas. I smiled to people... seems like a small thing but in a busy city it's often neglected and I've actually been thanked various times for smiling and/or taking the time to say hi (compared to those that stay in their bubble and are glued to their phones). 3-My father's side of the family gathers for Christmas lunch. Ok... my father got severely lost trying to pick me up this year but we made it! I got to meet the newest addition to the family, my cousin's baby... closest to having a nephew I could have since I'm an only child erm cough adult. We haven't had a kid in the family for decades... some took the opportunity to spoil the little one like he was their own grandkid. The highlight: a plush dinosaur at least 3 times the size of the kid... I don't know who was happier: the kid ridding dino or the ones pulling him around on the dino ❤ As well, my eldest cousin (the rest of the gang are at least a decade younger than us) came... has been out of the region for over 6 years. We talk on the phone once in a while but wow it was great to give him TWO really tight hugs (2nd is to make sure he's really there). I just didn't want to let go ❤
