But... some of us old farts are still around who DO remember EVERYTHING (sometimes even better than Keith himself does :P). I, personally would hate to see too many revamps. The site has a l-o-n-g... albeit sometimes sTrAnGe history. Some item descriptions do have a few issues, maybe, (I cannot tell you how long I have been waiting for someone to realize that MY name is still in the item description of my custom Minion, Shoofly, who was my new dog at one point, but whom I haven't even owned in years now), but Keith vs. Cyde, etc. are just a nostalgic part of it all.

the past makes us who we are, the same applies to this site. i get that a lot of things are being changed just so that it is, constantly asked for but not everything should be. updating item art is one thing but rewriting & changing the the concept of it to fit a newer perspective, please dont! let these "relic" items of Subeta past be! just because they have no place in the present expansion of Subeta lore doesnt mean they have to cease to exist. not everything has to "fit".

I freaking love these, honestly, and all the others. Moving forward doesn't have to mean erasing the past. Bad enough all of the "embarrassing" Keith items were changed! So what if they don't "go?" Everyone and everything changes and evolves until they die. But you don't burn photos from your childhood just because they don't accurately represent what you look like now. It's nice to be able to look back sometimes. If you don't like the items, why not just not own them? I get the ones that are problematic in hindsight (the "spousal attitude adjuster" for example) but otherwise I don't see the point in erasing nostalgic items from the old days when there's no reason to beyond "they're old."

If I remember right, weren't some of the Keith items renamed to "King Keith," to make it fit in more with the lore or something?

Except Bush was a terrible person and terrible president who threw the US into an illegal war that still continues to this day? A war that's killed thousands of innocent people and been one of the direct causes for ISIS being created?

There's a difference between something goofy and nostalgic like the Amy Lee items, and something actively controversial that's referencing a terrible person.

No need to change the art, just the descriptions. Make them pro- or anti-shrubbery or shaving.

I am 100% a fan of this being pro/anti shaving. This made me laugh so hard that it is perfect.

Users make suggestions. Other users give their opinions of these suggestions. Staff make the decisions. Most user suggestions are turned down for one reason or another.

On a serious note, I actually would be fine with the Bush pins being changed. Subeta's long had a stance of (mostly) keeping separate from the real world aside from death tributes, so that makes 'em seem really out of place. Plus there's a difference in having items that reference something controversial, and having items that are specifically pro/anti-that thing.

That and they're ugly af.

The bush pins are ugly, and I'm totally fine with changing them.

The Keith items changing were mostly because I asked (lots of hair choices 10+ years ago...) but the ones from specific plots (keith vs cyde, etc) I think should stick around just because they're actually part of the site lore(-ish)

I support changing those pins as well. We haven't gotten any other ones after that, and for good reason too!

About the Keith items, I'm in the group which preferred them to stay. But of course, I'm still fine with the changes, although I've been wondering if it's necessary to change some items like the colored Keith birthday cakes which weren't embarrassing at all.

There's no need to change the image of King Keith in the Free Shop either because that could easily be explained.

King Keith (as opposed to Keith the site owner) is in the SubetaPedia which makes him an NPC. He's an ordinary citizen now but he takes on a ceremonial role for certain special occasions. The monarchs used to give free goods to their subjects and Sebastian Phoenix kept this custom. It's understood that if citizen Keith is unavailable, somebody else can take on the role of monarch.
