I had a chain of like 200 ponytas and a shiny psyduck showed up instead lmao. ;’D got a blue duck.

Also doing the master trainers. I’ve fought Red already and that was fun. Nostalgic kick, so I’m happy they added the Kanto cast of chars. Missed Blue, Green, and Red. ;;

Pokémon snap was so fun, and it was pretty relaxing. Would be awesome to use the switch’s handheld gyroscope controls for a game like that. ;;

That's neat! From what I heard, as soon as you hit the 31 combo on a species, shiny chance escalates for ANY encounter anywhere you go until that chain is broken. So you can chain Caterpie and then go wander around looking for a harder-to-catch shiny (but the IVs won't be as good). So many people have chained for a certain species only to have a shiny of another species show up instead. Blue Psyduck is SO cute btw, congrats!!

I found a full odds shiny Abra right next to Celadon city upon starting up my game. His name is Houdini and I'm never evolving him, he's my precious son ;o;

I just learned this yesterday, but a review of the game's data has shown that it's better not to sit idle and wait. Apparently, a Pokemon that despawns is still stored in the RAM and can show up again after a certain amount of time - the game "recycles" them so to speak. BUT you can leave a route and return, or encounter the Pokemon on screen and run away, and that will remove it from the RAM and cause freshly-generated encounters to appear faster. Standing still is still a viable method to some extent, but it can take much longer depending on your luck. The RAM does automatically clear 'recycled' Pokemon after a while, but not as fast as encountering them and running, or leaving a route and returning.

I keep trying to run faster by pressing B x_x...

My eevee's moveset was payday, bouncy bubble, sappy seed, and bite. Adamant nature, ate like 20 eevee candies or so maybe. I keep using payday first on every trainer and it never seems like you get much for it but over time it adds up so it's worth it to use it imo.

Oooh, I have that one. I'm not sure if it's possible to go back and get it. Try going down beneath the game shop or whatever, the place where you battle team rocket with all the lottery gambling stuff. The person in the middle is a spy who gives you the set, on the first floor I think in the middle when you talk to her. This is why you always talk to every NPC in video games xD I don't know if she'll still be there or what though. Shiny ponyta is superior to shiny rapidash but I'll be happy regardless if either pop up! I wish rapidash kept that beautiful electric blue instead of being GRAY.

Probably the more you get the more chances for a good IV spread.

Even with the shiny charm, a 31+ chain of rapidash, and active lures I'm having a devil of a time finding any shinies. Meanwhile all my friends are randomly getting shiny pidgies without even trying. I'm like ??? I guess I'm just not lucky xD I can still trade you pokemon even if you have eevee like I do. I completed my dex thanks to pokemon go and a friend who caught the legendaries before me (I'm gonna try to get shiny legends since I have the shiny charm now and I might have a better chance now). I will want my pokemon back though after trading, okay, especially for version exclusive pokemon since I only have one growlithe LOL. I need him for the master trainer,,,

When I'm done chaining for this damn Vulpix I'll have to go back and see! I'm pretty determined. I've given up a wild Zapdos and several shiny other pokemon just to look for this ;-; (somethings wrong with me lol) I chained the pontya because I wanted the shiny rapidash and found it easier to do that rather than chain for rapidash. I 100% feel you on the coloration of their manes. the blue is so much prettier imo.

Omg I would have grabbed the other shinies and restarted the chain. It's not too hard to get to 31 when you know what they do before running away. The game now makes 5 rapidash spawn at a time when I'm there because it recognizes I'm hunting them and so it keeps making more for me as a result. BTW I don't think pokemon who wear clothes are able to be transferred from pokemon go to pokemon let's go unfortunately! I know for sure the pikachus/raichus can't. Dunno about squirtles but I assume the same rules apply!

The strangest thing not to have on pogo to transfer I don't have a oddish or mankey .-.

ahhh there are just some shinies that don't take to my fancy LOL the only time Ive broken the chain was for the shiny Charizard because yes. |D also nope, the clothed pokemon can't be transferred unfortunately - goes for all of them.

I know... I only have a gloom and a vileplume... oddish must be hiding because it's winter it's the only logical explanation.

That's fair. I would break for a shiny charizard to ride! Gonna be hunting them soon for that exact purpose. I want to female so I can name it Cynder after the Legend of Spyro games!

I think they're version exclusive to let's go pikachu.

@ LadyFoxling They are sadly but I was hoping my Pogo had at least 1 oddish, or at least a mankey to rob it of, but it only has the evolutions.

All I have left to get to complete the pokedex is: Oddish, Mankey, Kangaskhan, Poliwrath, Alakazam, Machamp, Dragonite, and Mewtwo

Can't get Kangaskhan to spawn for the life of me, Currently my Dragonair is lvl 46 so I'm almost to Dragonite... still need to beat the elite four go after Mewtwo.... Oddish and Mankey isn't going to happen anytime soon it looks like, and the others I'm going to have to figure out trades lol .-.

Once you defeat the Elite four you can ride your Charizard/Aerodactyl/etc and then wild Dragonite and Charizard spawn above you. It's pretty nifty.

Just defeated the elite four with 3 pokemon: Eevee, Raichu, and Lapras I had Dragonair in my party but didn't use him at all

I hate when you get up to a 25 pokemon chain and it runs after the the first pokeball. But other than that I have been having a ball getting pokemon
