since there's always someone trying to game the system, staff has wisely refrained from giving out too much detail on their quest-reward algorithms. They have alerted us to the fact that they do tweak them (although there hasn't been any evidence of this IMO within the last two years or so) There's a ton of sP out there and not enough to sink it on so if a user was bored and wanted to.... Yeah, they're not telling. :)

sorry, I derped and did the graph wrong! You're right, we do NOT need 300,000 quests per day, more like another 300,000 total. I must be tired myself. 😰

What it's trying to show is ... "if we did as many quests in this day as the red line (moving target), then we'd be fully on track for only needing the dark line (linear target)".

So, it's "daily target" plus "amount we're behind by overall".

But in any case ... I think it's not useful to post my graphs now. It might possibly be something Staff might consider when planning the next Questathon (how many quests per day we can manage, with lag and no bonus quests), but for now it's just not very encouraging for us players. 😞

i have other stuff to do before i go looking for the numbers to be sure (like finishing my own quests!) but we've done 100k+ daily before pretty consistently, so they might've thought that 80k daily was fine even though the timing wasn't great.

It's timing that we've struggled with before. I think this is our 4th or 5th Quest-a-Thon and we've done great the first few times but this time and the last are the times we struggled and it's because something else was going on. This could have waited until the server updates were dealt with, or the Jelly War could from last year could have waited a few days so that two click-heavy events weren't going at the same time.

It's just kind of frustrating if we fail because the site was unusable for a couple of days. It's the things that we can't help that kills the morale and that's hard to recover from.

(plus an earlier one with no thread, which is why i gave up and posted that one and this one lol) Quest-a-thon 2016! [topic= 836615] plus at least one christmas one? dunno if that got a thread. idk how many of these have The Numbers, i just thought comparing daily participation would've been neat

we've had maybe six? i have six "event prize" pet slots, and i think they've only been given out through quest-a-thons. but yeah, this one just seems... particularly iffy, even if the site isn't melting down because of multiple events.

personally i've got my fingers crossed for a small extension. it might not've been as bad as last year, but all the mess at the beginning clearly put people off participating.

in hoping for a tiny extension too. Esp since current events might be taking some players out of commission as they should be because they're far more important. That and the lag which happens during events a lot. Hoping for maybe an extra day.

If it's not against ToS, could someone give me a ping to show up in my sidebar to remind me to do the rest of my quests, maybe? D= I have to go out with my mom to grab groceries, and I'm the type who usually forgets to do things if I'm pulled away from them. I'll definitely see the notification in my sidebar when I get back, thankfully. lol

I hope it's okay to ping you, I'm so sorry if not. ^^; I vaguely remember a 2014 QaT and a 2013 QaT, but I could be wrong, though. I've been playing on and off since late 2012, I haven't been dedicated for quite some time.

I also remember they did a surprise 'be online when we have 1,000+ [or more?] users online and get a pet slot!' one day event, but I don't remember too much about it, or even when it happened. Maybe someone else could confirm?
