Well, we have Saggi and Chase who are kinda jerk-ish in their own ways. Jaxon is mostly just bitter and unamused. But yeah, we really could use more jerk characters.

And Maleria, but she's not been back to full power in ages. Really all that's left is Merana for being an evil witch. though I still say Shinwa is the true evil here

Speaking of Calvin, what's he been up to? He's just kind of....there. Would be fun to battle him.

Hmm, wait. Does Mori count as a human evil NPC?

Hmm, I'm not sure. I mean, the lore says that she's supposed to be evil, but we haven't really seen her do much of anything. We haven't really seen Nori do anything either, except for both of them having items in the quest shop.

Maleria is a goddess - she kinda doesn't represent the type of evil that's lacking on this site. I want something less supernatural (So Mori and Merana don't count - I won't encounter that type of person in my daily life) - just a Subetan that decided that being good sucks, and that fucking shit up is the better option.

We're seriously lacking in jerks, bullies and casual nasties. :(

Those of you who weren't there during the Great Pandemic, we didn't know for sure what caused it or how to avoid it. Some users in RL ragequit. Drowning someone may not be kind quick or humane, but it's safe-ish and prevents any tiny wound you might get from infecting you and causing you too to start taking (or thinking about taking) sneaky little bites out of your kin and kith. Non-consensual biting was very much a thing back then.

There were Achievements for it and stuff, and we had no idea there'd be a cure.

I was thinking today, but then maybe not since it's a holiday in the US. So maybe tomorrow? I'm not sure.

Yeah, I was kind of disappointed nothing happened sooner. Lore is great and all, but for just a mini-event/update/whatever, it seems to be running kind of slow (or maybe I'm just impatient).

For what it's worth, I hadn't checked on Anne at the Brewery for a few days to see if she'd heard anything, so I don't know if her dialogue ever updated. Manwar and Rumi are no longer discussing rumors either, now that they're back in their usual shops.

It's never over, and yet it never begins.

The site was having an attack of squirrels (SQLs) for the last couple of days, so maybe they're trying to get that settled before releasing any updates. But I agree, letting real time pass for a sense of realness is kind of annoying when we know something is about to happen.

Anyone else think the past few days of lag could be a result of Gunter's wanting to prolong the inevitable?

(Lol yes I know that's not the case but I do find it funny how the lag happened to be worse than usual near the end of the holiday.)

If that one news post with Thorpe was all we get for a plot...that was sort of anti-climatic. But maybe there will be more...?

We're not getting a plot - it's just character development, nothing more.

There's also the text when you visit the SAI HQ saying to come back on a weekday, so we might be able to go talk to Gunter after tomorrow or sometime later this week.

But yeah, it's not a plot just some story info. So we may get some more things to read but not really any steps or puzzles that need completing.

Burkhart liked rats? Like...lab rats? Like SAI was super interested in those pastries because they know that they themselves were responsible for the first Great Pandemic of which Burkhart the mad scientist himself was the first victim? And there's no such thing as a Vetan or Centropolis constabulary that the super secret SAI steps in. I smell a rat.

Maybe Gunter wasn't so much drunk as he was drugged by his unethical brother so that he wouldn't notice what was REALLY going on. It was self-defense when his system got used to the chemicals and he had a moment of lucidity. THEN he became a drunkard.

I read the letter and...man. That was rough. Apparently jealous and irresponsibility were the main factors in this murder.

It's sad that Gunter didn't understand what his brother was going through until it was too late....

Now the SAI won't answer questions but WILL let you visit Gunter-he won't talk either though. Not much point after confessing anyway....maybe we can vote on his method of execution-I think he should be impaled or crucified. Or staked to the ground in the path of foraging Siafu....
