Even used books on Amazon or so? You could try some german children books like the fairy tales of the brothers grimm or the books from Otfried Preußler. ^^ I want to help you so much.... But you could still watch the movies in german with english subs to hear how the words are pronounced!

Private Outfit

I've taken a look around, but part of the issue I'm having is it's hard to actually tell if I'll be able to read something beforehand. My reading level is BAAAARELY at Old Man and the Sea. I tried to start with kid books like the BFG and a bunch of the words were too complicated for me to start with. I don't have too much trouble with the pronunciations, it's more just getting used to phrases and word order and noun genders.
