Today was a pretty normal day since I stayed at home, but I maxed out 2 characters in a game that I've been trying to max for a long while. So that whas nice (:

what a cool event! the last thing to lift my heart was my co-worker Wassef. He fled here from Palestine. Used to be a professional chef at some ritzy hotel in Jerusalem. And he is always feeding me. He makes this salad from tomatoes, cucumbers, and jalapenos that is to die for, followed by tea, followed by coffee with cardamom. He has endured so much, but always has the most beautiful smile, always cares for other people, spoils them.

Whenever I feel down and can't stop thinking about whatever dumb thing is bothering me today (anxiety is hell) I pull up PBS Kids or Amazon Prime on my phone and watch the Wild Kratts. They always make me happy, and I recently managed to snag a VIP ticket to their live show. I'm super excited despite the likelihood that I will be the only adult at the Meet & Greet opportunity without a child under the age of 10 attached to me.

He's been gone since long before we were born (1936) but watching this guy play with his keeper and his keeper's dog through the fence makes me happy, too.

Thank you <3 The last thing that made me really happy was this past Sunday, it was father's day so my mom and dad came to visit, but as a surprise they also brought my grandparents along! My grandparents live out of state and my grandmother has been sick so she hasn't been able to travel much recently, but we learned a month ago that her cancer is finally in remission so she felt strong enough for a drive to come see us! It was a fun day and a fun surprise and idk life needs more of those :)

something that's v nice and not entirely subeta related is i finally got around to getting a new betta today. i lost my last one a few months ago after he lost the fight against fin rot. he had it when i got him, and seemed to be doing much better for a while before all of a sudden taking a turn for the worse and wasn't able to recover again. i've had the empty tanks set up for a while with the hopes of getting a new friend one day and today was the day!

A great book is The Phantom Tollbooth by Jules Feiffer. I read it in middle school but i reread it recently and it's still great <3<3

Fun fact: I have a solid freckle on my left palm, between the ring finger and pinky about half an inch or so down, and for a majority of my life my mom thought it was a spot of dirt. She kept forgetting and would try to wash it off but then she'd forget about it. I was probably like 17-18 when the doctor was like "so you did see this right" and she was shook that it was a freckle.

The last thing that made me happy was talking to my crush today. I love talking to her about silly things because she's usually very serious, i feel so special whenever she laughs really loud when we're talking and she's got that cute smoochable face on. She's such a soft cutie, makes me just want to hug her forever!

@ Toarc I'm pretty happy that my new coworker is cool and we've been making each other laugh all day. Training her has actually been stress reducing for me which wasn't at all what I had expected!
