They are still broken for me. =(

I don't know where the shift happened, but staff have really dropped the ball this year. Tickets are taking longer than necessary to be solved (it took a month for my ticket regarding getting retroactively rewarded a tome from the Evil Morty oversight to be resolved); things are breaking here and there; and of course no one on staff gives a shit to make a news post explaining what is going on or how they're going to make up for it for those affected.

I'd almost say after Scarsdale left staff (programmer, I believe), the site's gone to hell in a handbasket. We need more programmers that actually know what they're doing. I know part of what's going on can't necessarily be helped because the site code is old as snot, and a tangled mess, as it goes for any website with longevity. But still. I've been here a long time, and this is the first time in quite awhile I've been genuinely agitated by staff's behavior. All talk, but nothing to show. Typical. And of course if you try to call them out on it, you get accused of breaking community guidelines.

I suspect they're having a ton of trouble getting the sql proxy to work right because of the age of the site. If they pull it off I think it'll result in the site handling high traffic better than code fixes alone since it'll do something about the database itself being a bottleneck. But AAARRRRRGGGHHH. Lost or wrong DB entries suck, and I'm stupidly skittish about trying to open up gift cards (or even move them from my vault to inventory) because I don't want a DB fail to cost me 5000csc at a time when they're probably dealing with a huge load of tickets.

hmm strange i fight bandit but when i look at the stats of my pet it says and i quote:

No battles found!

and that strange error is also still appearing - i guess they are still working on it ?? right ??

it seems a bit useless to keep fighting because i dont get the crystals or the 10 sp either it just says battle won but then again when i go look up the battles for buttwings it stays at 42 wins even when i did another 10 fights and have won those fights ????

guess its safer then to quest instead of to battle this time :)

I'm hoping that things get fixed in time for Quacksalot to have a crack at Bandit. Galaxielle was able to one-shot for the first few battles so that was fine, but Quacks is going to have to rely more on freezing.

1. subeta is a small team of artists and programmers who work on subeta part time. A lot of them have other jobs so it takes them a while to coordinate with each other to fix things. The people responding to your tickets are also not always the people that can fix the problem. All the battle related issues are being directed to the battle admins. They could be waiting on one person to figure out what’s wrong and that’s why it took so long.

2. there have been a lot of changes and updates going on which are causing things to break. There are two different failure modes - immediate failures and latent failures. Immediate failures are something like a misplaced comma in thousands of lines of code but as soon as you find it the issues are gone. Latent failures are harder to find because they don’t fail right away, only after certain situations (ie: surges in site traffic, people using the mass add feature, fragging 1k items at once, etc). I don’t believe the reason staff hasn’t said anything is because they don’t care. I think the reason they haven’t said anything is because they don’t know what the root causes are. I think people would be even more upset if they continuously released news posts saying what they think is wrong, only for the site to break again or even worse, “we don’t know what’s wrong this time but we’re working on it!”

Did a few BQs and they went fine but I dread the next steps.

I was able to finish BQs and the exp was counting. I still had to keep refreshing after each turn though

Ugh those last 15 quests took forever.

So I just realised that 9 items on one of my pet's TC are in the cash shop...all 150 CSC...and now I'm like...do I get 1 or 2, and then get one of the items that can unlock a battle opponent? I currently have 880 CSC...hmm...so hard to work out what to do!

Battle opponents won’t be part of the Black Friday sale but other things are, so definitely don’t buy them until the sale starts!

Yeah...I didn't think they were. So I suppose I could always get stuff for my pet, and keep saving CSC from the bathhouse and spend that on opponents...

I hope battle staff will ping us when things are fixed, then we can get back to beating up some challengers :)

Thankfully I am done with the charity achievements. The pumpkins from morostide are great for that. I do need a couple of those new brownies from Fantine though
