Some impressions from Sylt (where snow is so VERY rare!) from tonight and this morning!
We have -4 ° Celsius now, that's 24 Fahrenheit, feels like -10 (14F) because of the North Sea. Normally, we have no temperatures below 0 here, much warmer than home in Munsterland, it is always mild in winter.
So we have to find some mittens and a better scarf for hubs today, we got him a beanie already yesterday because he didn't think he would need any here, LOL.
Ooh that's beautiful! I especially like the snowy beach at night, it looks so strange and liminal. Hope you guys have lots of blankets to stay warm in that house, it looks like it would be lovely in the summer but those big windows are letting all your heat out! Hard floors too, brr...I hope you have fuzzy slippers! Sending you warm, cozy thoughts! :D

Brrr beautiful but chill. I'd rather the waffles than the snow, I'm not ready for it to be that cold yet.
We have SO MANY blankets (15 or more), LOL, and we have additionally 8 beds to take stuff out and pile up, LOL. The floor is hard but wood so not too cold for the feet. There are rugs, too. The picture only shows the winter garden, it's a cold winter garden which we tell the cats IS the actual garden, LOL, because the one here is fenced but not defcon fenced. It is much more warm and cozy inside, no worries. I miss our fireplace at home, though.

I like warm weather more, too. But I love the beauty of the snow, too.
Ah, that pic looks more inviting. Cloth upholstery and a shaggy rug, much better! I hate leather furniture lol. I'm glad you've got plenty of blankets. And cats to cuddle with. My cat is way more cuddly now that it's chilly. :)

Yes, I think that wintergarden is only used in summer, we use it only as a kitty confinement when they want to go "into the garden" - we tell them this would be the garden, LOL. However, they only stay 5 mins out there and then come back in again!
They had snow in 2002 and this was the first time for more than 25 years. Then, they had some in 2018 and 2022 and now. Seems like the climate change changes this, too. I never thought we would spend some kind of winter vacation here! The kids were out with their sleighs today all over the island. It looks like a Winter Wonderland!
All of those pictures are beautiful! I haven't seen snow for six years now, so those are so pretty to me. I know this will sound weird, but the snow pics warm my heart! I hope you guys have a lovely time and make some wonderful memories. Stay warm!

We have, it is amazing! I wasn't expecting a winter holiday with snow exactly, it's years since we saw that much snow around.
Nothing better than that, and all the noise is muffled. Not much noise here anyway, LOL, but nevertheless!
