No problem (:
My gf should be home from work soon. Hopefully she’s in a good mood
-fingers crossed- I beat shreiking cell for the first time yesterday! My little battle pet is getting a little better slowly but surely!
Congrats! I don’t really battle much since reaching the cap. It’s kinda boring sadly
That's a bummer :( i want to beat shrieking cell 5 times so I can get the loot. I made it to one which was a huge success but the secound round has not gone so successfully XD

Dang, that's a lot of fam getting manicures together!! :-D
So I went and looked at the list of Michener books and don't recognize ANY of them. But I know I've read many of them, but so long ago I couldn't tell you which ones. I did find a few authors I've read a lot of and remember being disappointed by one of their books. Ken Follett is one, John le Carré is another. Most of my lifetime reading has been either best selling authors, or for many years I worked on trying to read all of the Pulitzer Prize (fiction) winning books. Biographies is another genre I read a lot of too. I used to love Ann Rule then read a few duds...sorry for the ramble. lol
I wish I could cancel TV! Liz and Philip would go nuts! I could do it though! :-P Juneary!! :-) We sometimes say that too, but mostly we call it June gloom.
I saw and just wonder how you both have so much restraint.
haha, we watch a lot of stuff on the PS4 or our computers so we have stuff. Daniel also downloads soemtimes. haha, i have never heard of that but the last time i remember snow in June i was like 10 yrs old.

Lol! You can organize pintrest?
It eas kind of weird but my sister and I got to have dinner alone and we haven't done that in like 5 years so that was really enjoyable!
Is the loot any good? I forgot what it was
We both don’t want to hurt anyone else but ugh it’s tough.
all my boards and pins, yup

I was wondering how you could make it without shows to watch. Snow in June? 😳 Pretty sure we have never had that but June can be cold and dreary here.
That's great you and your sis got a dinner together!
That must be super rough!!
haha, thats why people are calling it Junuary.. as in January = snow. we didn't get snow.. we just had a massive wind storm for two days, but parts of alberta and bc did.

It felt great holding her hand last night though. We were so tempted to do more
Its like a bunch of minions freed from a cage. I collecy minions so it would be cool to get :O
Pintrest sounds like a lot of work! XD
Yup :) her son was away with his dad for two days so we got some sister bonding time :D
Oh nice! If they aren’t books I never pay attention
so back when I read Michener, I also read books that I thought of as basically the same genre (historical epic, I guess) by Leon Uris. And also (books that got made into miniseries got me started, and then other books from those writers) by James Clavell, Susan Howatch, and Colleen McCullough.
Not sure if you ever read anything by those writers. Mostly I don't pay attention to how well a book sold because it doesn't help me tell if I would like it or not - there's some best selling books or authors I like (Stephen King might be the best example) and some I strongly dislike (Dan Brown) and some I thought I would like but never did (Michael Crichton) and some that I think are fine but can't tell why they are as popular as they are (J. K. Rowling) :D
Now I'm looking at the historical bestseller lists here (top authors by decade, https://pudding.cool/2017/06/best-sellers/ ) and for 1950 I like Pearl S. Buck and hate Taylor Caldwell ... 1960 I like Mary Stewart, haven't read the others. For 1970 don't care for Ludlum (except the Bourne series which I liked), Updike is well written but annoying, Irwin Shaw is good, Le Carre is well written but ... just not to my taste, and ugh Taylor Caldwell yet again. I can't express how much I hate her books. One of them gave me horrible nightmares as a kid.
The 1980s are where I start to recognize the writers and I'd say I like Stephen King and Dick Francis most, I also like Michener and Danielle Steel, really dislike Hubbard, Robin Cook, and Jack Higgins, and the others I just haven't read.
1990, I also can't stand Dean Koontz except the 2 books by him I liked, but the bad ones are so bad they kind of spoil the memory of the ones I liked almost. I also liked Parker up to a point (the 9th Spenser book, around there) and then not anymore.
2000, I liked Laurell Hamilton ok for maybe 5 books (but she was not a good writer, just a fun to read one) and then she went off the rails and kept going worse and worse. And honestly the only new one in the 2000 list I like is Nora Roberts, and she's far from a favorite. Don't care for Evanovich or Cussler or Patterson, haven't read the other new ones.
Finally 2010, only ones I like are ones I liked from previous decades, including J. D. Robb who is also Nora Roberts anyway.
But that list is not all the ones I'd think of as 'best sellers' anyway (it didn't have Brown or Rowling on it even) so it's hard to be sure. My parents were big proponents of reading best sellers. I think the reason was that they wanted to read the same books their friends did? Like reading was more about social interaction than about actually reading for them, in a way. So maybe part of my animus for reading bestsellers is juvenile rebelliousness and some sort of purity of motive thing, I mean, I know other people who just think bestsellers are what they actually enjoy reading, but those early impressions stick with a person I guess.
So the thing about the Pulitzer prize books is interesting! What were some of the winners you liked a lot, do you recall? I haven't read much based on awards until pretty recently (although I did tend to read winners of the various science fiction short story awards actually for a long time, so that's not totally true) but I didn't look into Pulitzer winners yet.
[edit] hey, I rambled way longer than you did! ;)
Hubby says/thinks the Hawaiian volcano is affecting our weather quite a bit. After it being so cold for the last few days it's supposed to get really hot in 2 days. Usually we don't get nice weather until after the 4th, which is our big outdor holiday, and it always rains on it. I actually pray for rain as it shuts down the fireworks a bit. Ooops! :-P
I'm not judging, but why have you not broken up with your gf? Being nosey mostly.
You're so lucky to have a big sister! :-)
The site is going down in a few. I'll write a reply tomorrow. Going to screening your comment and research it. :-)
She’s still with her husband and will probably stay that way. I’ll try to work on things with my gf in the mean time
No worries. How are you doing on the book achievement? I am wondering if I just bought like one weapon if I would be able to beat it LOL!!!-probably not-
Indeed having siblings is nice :)
