I am desperate for long skirts on Subeta that are actually wearable. Long trains aren't terribly practical, but skirts that puddle on the ground 360 degrees around your entire body are much worse. They're trauma calls waiting to happen. I see those and wonder how many people in Centropolis break their necks trying to go up and down stairs, or get caught in escalators, every day.

So often there seems to be no middle ground between butt-short skirts (don't cough or bend over or the world has the gynecologist's view of your undercarriage) and neckbreaker skirts on this site.

there's a whole ton of middle length skirts, but they aren't always the newest or most popular. Still, our HAs don't have to walk, and a skirt that puddles around your feet is great for not having to match your shoes :D

There are a good number of maxi skirts that don't go too far below the ankle, too.

, oh it's true that there are some (and I grab them the minute I see them unless I do not have csc!) but...

If dresses are just longer than the avatar or cover the feet/shoes, that's not an issue. I own dresses that cover my shoes, and I have to lift them when I go up stairs, but it's just by a couple of inches. (This probably bothers me more than other folks because I honestly rarely wear trousers/jeans/slacks. I either am in a skirt/dress or a tunic with leggings 99.999% of the time.)

It's specifically the big puddles, trailing lines, and so on in the direct path of where you'd be walking, that are clearly several feet of fabric bunched up on the ground. I just can't with those. The mermaid skirts and the Delish lines are the absolute worst for that. I really want to know how many deaths in Centropolis and Ziara and Delphi are directly linked to those skirts. :) Either that or maybe the ones from Ziara have anti-grav tech. Which is my handwave for one really silly dress that OC-Valiska seems to like anyway.

Sure, HAs don't have to do anything, but I don't think I have ever made an HA that represented a person who of the stand around and look pretty/do-nothing type. I cop to Queen Vali's hair being unrealistic, but if you look at the avatars that are her casual/working rather than court clothes, she's got a lot less; I'm sure there are plenty of rats and extensions involved in her court hairstyles.

yes, I see the point, definitely. my HAs probably have some kind of preternatural dexterity and never trip. I in real life trip over my own feet sometimes and yet haven't ever tripped on a skirt (fortunately) but then again I haven't worn a long one, even in my wedding I wouldn't put up with that :D

it doesn't bother me at all though in pixel art. but I sympathize with your desire to make it realistic!

it's just a thing my brain does. :) I actually love maxi skirts, but not THAT long. However my very favourite skirt length is probably tea-length. Long enough to suit my tastes, not so long that any lace or ruffles you put on the hem will get ruined by street dirt.
