I'm not really a NY 'resolution' girl, but here's my try:
this year
A bad habit I'm going to break: I'm going to try to break my bad habit of not getting a new mattress. I keep putting it off because mattress shopping is so intimidating - there's always a 'sale' so when is there really a sale? And there's basically no way to comparison shop because they change the names from store to store. Also you can't even trust online reviews because the mattress companies bought the review sites lol But despite all that I have to get a new mattress, my mattress is so old and worn out and my back needs a better mattress.
A new skill I'd like to learn: I'd love to learn to make great cocktails but that's a fairly expensive hobby to pick up - so I guess I'll go with I'd like to learn to bake; I hear it's good for stress relief and it sure would make the house smell good (hopefully).
A person I hope to be more like: I'd like to be more like Dean Winchester. He's brave, kind and even when the world is crashing down around him he never gives up and generally still cracks a joke.
A good deed I'm going to do: I'm going to keep taking care of the stray cat we brought in this winter and try and make his life better.
A place I'd like to visit: If I had money I would love to go to New Zealand. When I hear the question if you could go anywhere the first place my mind always go is fictional places I love - so New Zealand seems like a good 'real' substitute. I could go visit Hobbiton and see all those beautiful landscapes from the Lord of the Rings, Hercules and Xena that I grew up watching.
A book I'd like to read: I'd like to finally finish 'This Book is Full of Spiders: Seriously, Dude, Don't Touch It' by David Wong. 'John Dies at the End' is one of my all time favorite books I don't know why it's taking me so long to get around to reading the sequel. I've started it so many times (and loved it) but never get past the first chapter or so and by the time I get back to it I have to re-read what I've already read because it's been too long to remember the details lol
A letter I'm going to write: I have a friend in Canada I haven't talked to in forever I really should send her a letter.
A new food I'd like to try: I would love to try tofu noodles - I love me some pasta and tofu noodles are lower in calories and carbohydrates so that could be a positive change.
I'm going to [try to] do better at: Not letting my cat slide when she does naughty things. I tend to let her get away with a lot of stuff and I really shouldn't lol
I love to bake so if you ever want a recipe to try or want to chat about it :P

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that and with the baby on board that's gotta complicates things hands you a mug of warm throat comfort tea Same old, same old with me, back's being a pain but not too bad although I have this horrible suspicion it's getting ready for a big flair up.
a bad habit: not keeping up on chores
a new skill: i already know the basics of knitting, but i'd like to learn more techniques, how to make things other than just rectangles
a person i hope to be more like: my mother ^-^ ze's my best friend, and such a kind person, and has such good ethic, always putting hir all into things. additionally, rey star wars. i could always use to be more like rey star wars, for obvious reasons.
a good deed i'm going to do: well, tonight, the dishes
a place i'd like to visit: unlikely to happen this year since we're going to be fairly tight financially what with my dad buying a new house, but my mom found this little cottage in the french countryside that goes for about $700 a week, which is very affordable for vacation accomodations... the problem is the plane tickets, we're american :p but it would be very nice to go there and just spend some nice quiet time in a new, nice place (or a Nice place, lmao)

a new food i'd like to try: oh golly, i'm so bad at thinking of foods.... more than tasting new foods though, i'd like to learn to make new foods, and take some of the work off my mom for cooking. i have a very small repertoire for recipes but it's growing! i made some very nice pancakes the other morning ^-^
i'm going to do better at: getting things done, dammnit. i'm the crown ruler of the billion and ten unfinished projects. the next chapter of black pear tree beckons to me, as does several one on one scenes from red fox ranch, several projects i'd like to do for this site.... but i have depression and am sitting here playing sims 4.

Swiss Alps, Germany, Norway, England, Ireland, France, Chile, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Galapagos Islands, Antarctica, and a bunch of other places mostly in Europe. A realistic place: the sierra mountains in California or Cascade Mountain Range in California/Oregon/Washington to go camping or backpacking. A book Id like to read... more textbooks.
