So the past few days I've been getting a few error messages around the site, which go away if I refresh the page. This evening I've gotten them more often and the past hour or so I started getting broken/blank pages around the site. I cleaned my caches to see if that would work, but it didn't. I don't know if it's on my end (satellite has low/no data) or not, but I figured it worth a shot to check. -Using Firefox 58.0.1 on Win 10 -Only site I'm having issues with right now -Errors code is 503/504 (I believe) pops up randomly -Lost site when I clicked Sag's Quest Button

Getting a lot of lag and stalling today. Yesterday was bad with the errors and the site crashing.
Me too. Lots of 503 and 504 errors. Sometimes can't get the page to load for several minutes.

Constant crashes for me, terrible lag when battling/questing. I got booted out last day of Jan for almost 15 minutes as the IT terracoon bludgeoned everything back into order. Disabling shoutbox did not help at all. I'm also on 5g wifi and every other site I visit is fine so it's definitely not my end. Every time I come back from a hiatus it seems like the site crashes get worse and more frequent.
I've also been having trouble with slow loading pages, 504/503 errors, and blank pages for the past few days. Chrome on Win10 and OSX, Safari on iOS.
For at least a week I've been getting "the requested page cannot be found on this server", completely white pages, 50s, extreme lag. Just now I could barely turn in my items to Saggi within time!

Just to be on the safe side:
- also having 503, 504, and blank pages
- also confirming lag for several days. Not seeing the super speedy site after the server changes. As per usual after a speed update had been announced, it never lasted more than a few days, before being back to slower speed and lag.
- also having endless loading pages now. That used to be a recurring problem months ago, but just today it started again. Mostly it's something along the lines of "transferring data from sapi.subeta.net or img.subeta.net"
- also sometimes having only a part of a shop's items loading when restocking. Like half of the images show, and then the other half shows boxes with "send query" or something along that line in them.
Re: 503s/504s and "page not found on this server" problems.
We traced this back to an issue with our deployment process. Basically, sometimes it would actually take the whole site down for a bit when we deployed an update. In other words, whenever you ran into these issues, it was because one of us had just made a change, and the deployment made the site go down. This happened with about half of our deployments.
We're working on fixing that asap, we definitely don't want the site to keep going down every time we make a change!

Since moving to PHP7, there are times when the load is so low that Subeta only needs one server. So when we do a deployment and that is the case, there will be a few minutes where the server goes down, and there is no other server for it to switch to.
When a deployment happens, the server has to shut down, get the new code, and then restart. If there are two or more servers, that's fine, because traffic can just be redirected to another server. (And they just do it one at a time.) But when we only have one server up, that server goes down and the whole site goes poof for a bit until it comes back up :c We have not noticed extreme lag in general. However, we have noticed extreme lag being caused by the site coming back up after a deployment. Our tools show us a spike in activity right as the site comes back up and be related to human avatars (like rebuilding the avatar cache from scratch or something), so that's another thing we're looking into.

I haven't been getting many errors myself, just a couple here and there. But I've definitely noticed periods of time where things like forum posts and HAs seem to take forever to load while other times they load really quickly.
Thanks for the explanation of what's happening, at least. Hopefully it can be sorted out soon. :)
I'm getting 504error when i try to view my profile, but nowhere else.
A few 504 errors today, slow loading for forums, and my HA takes forever to load. In fact, it takes so long, that I've hidden it.
ETA: Just got another 504 at 6:30 pm Subeta time while battling.
Just an update on the above: We changed our deployment process so you should no longer see the 404s and 503s! Hooray! (The downside is that deployment takes a bit longer now, but it should no longer take the entire site down.)
We're aware there are still random 504s, but these seem very intermittent and usually go away with a single page refresh. We're still investigating what could be causing these.

There was a long white page intermittance yesterday Subeta afternoon. And a lot of 50s. Though I hope, those all happened before your last changes mentioned above. Thanks for your work and update!
Just reporting that I'm still having 520's as well. I was playing the Polar Ice Fields for the one below.

[edit] Seeing 504's mostly during specific activities, don't know if it's just me, or really linked, but they show up mostly during Ice Fields, Tiles game, and quick stocking.
