And wow, I didn't realize the bobbleheads were discounted, that's actually not a bad deal in this case I think, since usually when they bring them back it's not at the discount. Now is a pretty good time to take advantage of that then.

I can't believe it's already December. I've been really bad about being active on here this year, but I'm going to try and get better about that. Yeah, I don't know why she automatically thinks that everyone in town is going to eat out at the same place every single night. It adds up and most people can't afford that, especially the older residents in town. It also isn't healthy to eat fast food or fried food all the time. I lost weight after it closed for the season. A water filter may be something we try next year, if not for drinking at least for having better water to cook with. My parents had an expensive system put in that stores filtered water in a 5- or 10-gallon tank and they don't drink enough water to empty it, which is why they don't mind us filling up jugs of water. Next time we see his in-laws, I'll try to convince Chris to have a talk with them and hopefully it will be better than the talk he had with them after he returned from his deployment. We sent his mom a Christmas wishlist through Facebook messenger and all she said was "tell Santa's elves".......not the response we were hoping for. We've already gotten Christmas gifts for them, granted we didn't spend much on them. We had planned to spend Thanksgiving with his parents, then it snowed, rained, and snowed some more. We decided staying home was better than getting hurt or killed in a wreck, which disappointed his mom. Chris and I did have a discussion about family holidays and traveling for them. If we have kids and the weather is terrible, we won't travel to the in-laws, safety is more important than seeing extended family. I don't know what the plan is for Christmas regarding the in-laws. I know Chris and I will be spending Christmas day with my family and we won't be doing any traveling on Christmas eve. MIL law is more concerned about planning Easter, that getting anything figured out for Christmas. I haven't read any of the SW books or comics, Chris focuses more on the books. I have been watched The Mandalorian with Chris though, so I might start watching the movies. Yeah, recreating an existing character as the opposite sex shows a lack of creativity, just like when a movie is remade and nothing is really changed. Create something completely new that can add something to an existing universe. I need to go watch the preview for the Dr. Doolittle movie, I keep forgetting to watch it. It comes out in January so my we might go see it in theaters. There's a movie theater 45 minutes away from us that does cheaper tickets during the week and we've found out that on Friday nights, tickets are under $4 for college students. We aren't college students anymore but apparently we look like we are because we've gotten the discount twice. Saw Knives Out on Frida. It's a pretty good movie. If the local movie theater shows it this month, I might go watch it again. It's too much driving for me too, but since I hate driving in big cities, Chris does the driving. I think we somehow shaved an hour off of the drive this year so we got to the Ren Fest grounds pretty early. That would be really nice. With Christmas coming I've motivated myself to tidy up my craft stuff in the sitting room so the tree can go up. I still have about a day's worth of work to do in there. The greatest motivator for cleaning is having company over. I got the living room tidied up in about an hour. I got a new puppy in October, she's a chocolate lab mix with heterochromia. I haven't really told many people because I found her on the road. I'm assuming she was dumped because I haven't seen any missing/lost dog ads for her. Chris told his parents we got another dog. showed them a picture of her and his mother's response was kind of shitty ("great, when are we going to get a grandkid that isn't a dog" o.O)

You could make one if you'd like! I think we usually don't do like a general chatting one during Luminaire, because it's the whole month instead of just a week or two. I think most of the time it's just the giveaway threads or the empty trees, gift the person above you, holiday contests, those sorts of things.

It's generally better to keep any important conversations over here anyway, because all of that stuff gets deleted at the end holiday when they close the forum.

😀 Lumi and Christmas are my favorite holidays! I woke up yesterday morning thinking it was still November because last month went by so fast. I'm hoping I remember to visit Melody every day. I've been cooking more at home too, which helps because then we have meals for a few days. I'm allergic to corn but I still don't know what my tolerance level is (thanks to the moldy corn brought into co-op last fall), so I have to check the labels of the food I buy. For now, I just keep an eye on what I eat, like if I have a Mountain Dew and Doritos, with one meal, I avoid corn/corn by-products for the rest of the day. We had looked at a Brita water jug that has a filter, but for the price, we didn't want to try it and find out that it didn't work. I need to price water filters that attach to the faucet before I bring up the suggestion to Chris. I really hope she gets the hint from the wishlist that we would like to get things we'll actually use. One year I got socks that were too small and slippers that were way too small. Chris has more stuff on his wishlist than I did, I just put down some sewing thimbles that I want more of and gift cards. We probably could have made it there if we had left really early and driven slow, but then we would have been expected to stay the night and our dogs would have missed two meals. MIL works at Wal-Mart, so she tries to get holidays off far in advance when others don't realize it's a holiday yet. Originally, the plan was to get together for Easter on Easter, but now she has Palm Sunday off. Still doesn't work for us because Chris works on Sundays...and I honestly think his mom hates that he works on Sundays. Last night she messaged Chris about an extended family Christmas get-together that's happening on a Sunday. Chris reminded her he works Sundays and she said: "I know, just wanted you to be informed". I think she's hoping that Chris will take every single Sunday off to go to the extended family Christmas's since he missed last year. They also have a bundle that's Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ for $12.99. Knives Out is similar in concept to the Clue movie, or Murder on the Orient Express, basically a murder mystery. Daniel Craig plays a detective who's been hired to investigate the death of a crime author but he doesn't know who hired him. It was quite interesting to watch the beginning of the movie and pick out all the lies the family members told. I'll drive when I have to, but I absolutely refuse to drive in bigger cities, it just stresses me out too much. And when I drive for too long, I get tired. She is really cute and she's super attached to me. I can walk her around outside without a leash because she doesn't stray too far from me. People can be really crappy, this is the third dog this year that I've saved that has either been dumped or forgotten about. Chris told me if I find any more, I can't keep them unless one is an Australian Shepherd (I had one growing up). The in-laws have been wanting grandchildren as soon as Chris and I got married and they haven't been subtle with their hints. FIL went as far as ordering a copy of School House Rock from Amazon and posting about it on Facebook saying it was for future grandkids. Cue extended family asking if he was making an announcement. facepalm LIke Chris and I wouldn't have posted something first.

Some have gotten their names, while others will have to wait a while longer. Site issues... earlier today ran into the same problem after a few smails. Tonight I was able to send a few more before probs. Those that have not gotten their names have gotten a comment from me. Same! I try to visit her right after midnight so I don't forget. I even go back a few times a day just to make sure lol. Yeah you really need to be careful. Eating out is convenient, especially on the days I want to be lazy, but it is deff not good for us. Is that Brita thing the one where you just fill it up and it supposedly filters it as you pour it out? For some reason those just don't like they would work that well. I think they should just stick to gift cards. It would be so much easier for both of you. She needs to understand that he has to work when they tell him to. Does she expect him to quit his job? Is she going to support him? If I download it to the PS4 (never did anything like that before) I can watch it on the tv? Ugh these services are getting so confusing. I can't imagine leaving a helpless animal outside to freeze like that. Wow that is so pushy and rude. I can't imagine dealing with her. I would have snapped a long time ago.
