I always hit the snooze at least twice. Once in a while even 3 times lol. I would love that!

I use my phone and I think it technically has a snooze button but I don’t have it turned on. I prefer to just set a bunch of different alarms lol. I usually set 2 every morning to make sure I get up for work. I was kind of hoping to see it when I got on just now but oh well. Tomorrow’s another day I suppose.

Anyone going to watch the prequel when it comes out? I wont. I don't trust them not to make us wait 2 years between seasons! Not devoting that many years to it! Plus we will already know how it all ends.

Yeah I'm not sure about the prequel. It's supposedly going to be about the first Long Night from like 8,000 years before the current story or whatever. I know Martin has written a lot of backstory for the universe he created, so they would have a lot to draw from. But I'm also not very satisfied with how this final season is going, so I'm kind of torn on any future content. I'm worried it will end up turning into a cash grab trying to replicate the huge success of the original series without putting enough effort into good writing and characters.

I am planning on ditching HBO again after this series is over lol. I am not a huge fan of how the show is going. They managed to turn my favorie character (Tyrion) into an idiot. He used to be intelligent, insightful and clever! Now all he does is make mistakes! It is like his brain fell out when he got off the boat. They seem to be ruining quite a few characters. All of a sudden they seem to be doing things completely out of character just to rush the story along.

Yeah, I feel pretty much the same. I'll still watch just because I've watched all the rest, but I have a feeling most fans are going to be in an uproar after the finale. A lot of people online already aren't happy with how this season has been going.

It's not so much that the events themselves are the problem, but how they're going about doing everything. As you said, it's all too rushed. I don't know why they couldn't have had seasons 7 and 8 be full 10 episode seasons, and even then maybe a 9th season would have helped with some of the pacing issues in the writing, and allow for more details to build on characters making certain decisions and having consequences for their actions.

But yeah, the past few episodes it definitely feels like things are happening out of nowhere just for the sake of moving the plot along and not necessarily because it makes any sense. Also, if you watch the behind the scenes stuff after the episodes, the writers' explanations for things make zero sense sometimes. Like Dany forgetting about Euron's fleet when she went back to Dragonstone in the last episode, like really? You're just going to forget about one of your major enemies while you're at war? Just a bad excuse for bad writing.

It's disappointing, considering how great the show was in the earlier seasons when they still had book material to go on.

She was way too comfortable just flying around like she was on vacation or something! She should have waited at Winterfell until everyone was in peak fighting condition! The throne wasn't going anywhere!

The writing was great for the first few years. Especially Tyrion's lines, but now it is just meh!

It probably doesn't help that they've cut some story lines from the books, I feel like some of the characters that are in the books only but not the show will end up being pretty important to the end of the overall story there (if the books ever get finished). I haven't read the books yet, but I've read enough through the online wikis to know about a lot of the things the show hasn't covered lol. But I still think they could come up with a better solution even for the story they do have going in the show. I know Martin supposedly gave the show runners information about how he planned for the ending of the story to go, which they probably are incorporating, but it's ending up feeling like some of these things are happening because they need to somehow but the writers couldn't think of a good way to get there so they just threw it in randomly. Like they're going through a list of bullet points of things that need to happen, but skipping a lot of the in between.

And regarding your last points,

Now I'm just hoping the book series gets finished eventually, because even if the same general conclusion is in the books, at least it will probably have better writing and a better explanation of how everyone got to that ending than the rushed mess that has been this season of the show. :c

I haven't read any of the books either. Yeah they really is how it is feeling right now. They seem to be jumping from A to E and so on and just hoping we will go along with it and just figure it all happens for a reason. Whatever that reason might be,

I don't watch that many shows regularly. Just GOT and Supernatural. I have to record other shows and watch them when I get around to it or I would forget.

Yeah I guess that may have been part of the problem. Dany probably feeling overconfident and just not being smart, but I still think it could have been handled a bit better.

I do hope he is able to finish them. I know some of the delay is also because he was having trouble for a while too figuring out exactly how to get to the end. Like I think he knows what he wants to happen, but with there being so many characters in the books it's probably even more difficult to bring them all together there in a way that makes sense. But I hope he's at least still trying, I'd love to be able to read the books at some point with the ending that he intended that's written a bit better than what we're getting with the show.
