Ryuu's suggestion of Umblob and its derivatives seems pretty fitting. Umblobra and Umblorba seems to be partially loaned from Hedorah, which is a blob monster from Godzilla films.

I'm so disappointed none of you appreciate what just happened here. :P

yas uni is a very unique name mmm a beautiful virtual pet name that would never have been thought of for 827294 years (also wow this shows how out of touch i am from neo)

I threw out Peacora in the news post, since it's a combination of peacock and pecora, the infraorder that deer belong to, but my other favorites are Yumera and Eyceeyew.

Also I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I love onomatopoeia-type names for the blob.

@ Speiro more people will have to be around to fully appreciate @ kbbob and you. You've got to have patience. ;D

On topic, as much as I love "The Blob", I feel like the capitalization rules for pets would make it strange, because it wouldn't be capped. I like Umblobra (or even Umblorba) a lot though!

so many good ones to choose from. I'm probably gonna go with something kirin-like for the peacock thing since that's basically my go-to pet. (was trying to have a ton a one point and recolor them all but.. ambition lol)

I'm terrible at thinking of names but I hope the blob has the stupidest most ridiculous name, like BLORBLE, because I absolutely hate the stupid thing.

I really want the blob to end up with a super basic name like blob, gloop, glob, or sludge just because it works so well with the color names:

"Pet Name the Marsh Blob". It's like someone doesn't know how to even describe it. "Well, it's marshy... and it... well, it's a blob of... something?

Also, I don't think I want to see it named after shadows (umblorba, and all the other umbra-inspired names) or anything else that describes what the blob is made of. It feels like it gives some definition or constraint to the blob, which is less interesting to me than it just being a thing. Plus, I really hope we get things like a slushy snowman or a sandcastle with eyes, and I don't see that working as well if it has to include black goop? But without the black goop in all recolors, those more defined names don't make as much sense. I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking it. :P

I love the idea of Yuck. Maybe a different spelling like Yuk or yuku yuki ?

Not sure about Yuk. It makes it sound more like a mud pokemon. Unless that's really the intention.

Oh! We could call it Ukli. It's like ugly, but not typed/said right, for this not-quite-right copy of things. (and a lot of people seem to dislike it, so maybe they'd like this? One more not-so-subtle poke at its existence? [sub]poor blob, you did not ask for real pet status...[/sub]) Ex. Mae The Darkmatter Ukli Gregg The Gold Ukli etc. ;D

Maybe we won't ever decide on a name so we could just call it an Umm
