Happy Saint Patrick's Day, I hope you are taking some time to celebrate the true meaning of the day and to celebrate the wonderful contributions that the Irish have made in the world. Whereas my clan and tribe have their origins near or in the Black Forest, Half of Weldon's tribe and clans originated from Dingle, Kingdom of Kerry.

So, today we had a fry-up for breakfast (mouse rashers, tomato, quail eggs, black sausage, and soda bread and tea.) For the afternoon meal Welly is preparing a roast, colcannon, roasted roots, soda bread, and apple pie. We managed to get a small barrel of Poppy's Famous Wheezle Brew to drink during the day. YUM!

Our human friend, Bridgette (O'Riley) Wold, the State Biologist with the Department of Fish and Game who lives in this area, is hosting a huge St. Paddy's Day bash at the human's Skunk and Stoat Inn. There will be lots of green beer, brisket, cabbage and soda bread and I was invited, as the Queen of the Tribe, to join her party for dinner and dancing, though I'm not going to drink green beer. A traditional Irish band is providing all the music and I am very excited to hear it. I was promised a sip of Irish Whiskey from the bar and I want to taste some Guinness Extra Stout, I heard it is quite good.

For all the wee creatures who are of Irish descent, (which includes everybody today) Poppy's Famous Wheezle Brew will be served all day down in the Burrow Inn. Mrs and Mrs Otter, the lead cooks have had their crew in a frenzy preparing massive stew-pots full of hearty meat and root vegetable stews. The bakery crew has turned out scores of Irish soda breads and hundreds of scones. The Burrow Inn will be packed, Cousin Sparky Wheezle's band will be playing tonight and it will be a great night for my community.

I know that some will drink heavily today, which is just fine. But if you need a traditional Irish hangover cure, toast two pieces of white bread, butter it and make them into a sandwich with potato chips for the filling. It is supposed to be quite a magical cure, and the Irish swear by it. They call it Potato Crisp Sandwich. I heard that they believe that 7-Up will cure any ill and drink it with a splash of hot water to make it flat. Make 7-Up Yours!

I've really been working on books for her and food for Gypsy. Along with plushies, beanbags, etc.

Things are still good.I'm working hard on the house and i'm tired..I went out had supper with friends,which was good to do something different and talk to people.

: The humans really love to party, but the wee creatures sing, dance, eat and drink with everything they have until they collapse in a communal heap and sleep if off. It was a great party and we are blessed to have the Irish in our world.

Aaargh... Parents are coming back from their first trip outside the country together. It was for their 37th Anniversary that's actually Wednesday. I was hoping to have some sort of funny or cute sign welcoming them back from Israel, but my sisters (I'm talking to You and !) are being party poopers. P: What to do to make up for their lack of participation...? [Flowers? Balloons? Hmm...]

Why not flowers & balloons. They will be exhausted. Maybe something yummy for them to eat that they will have missed. Their bed all clean with covers folded down ready & inviting. Flowers on their dresser. House all clean... Then lots of hugs & kisses. :)

I have been on long trips and the flights are exhausting. Bed and a hot meal besides getting jammies on are at the top of the list. Plus fresh towels in the bathroom for a nice hot shower. Believe it will be much appreciated oh the signs and flowers would be so welcoming and showed they were dearly missed.
