Tokio Hotel used to be everywhere here, lol I am generally not a fan of music with German lyrics (not sure why, it just kills my nerves to hear German songs for more than a few minutes) and so I never have been a fan of them but I remember their faces and that "Monsun"-song for sure, there was no way to escape it.

Yeah, same here about Peter VDV. In the previous years, I've watched on the BBC with Graham Norton in order to avoid his comments, but I somehow couldn't find it on Tuesday, so I had to keep watching.

We aren't having a big party this year, just a few friends :) Eurovision has a bit of a cult following in the UK which we are proud to be part of. It's almost more fun to watch when you have no expectations of winning!

Lots of guys with very high voices it seems. 😅

The yodel song! That song got stuck in my head for awhile as well. Even today during work it suddenly popped up for a moment.

Anyway, I'm happy the Netherlands and Norway went through.

I still can't believe Eurovision is already here! To be honest, this year's representant for Spain is OK, but I prefer the Croatian singer - gosh, he's bloody incredible! - who's essentially a boyband inside one man's body, and the Italian guy with his gorilla, whose song is very interesting.

Hah, I struggled to stay awake as well. I went home early today, calm at work for a change, and I was too tired. (I don't "adult" well. Being a kid it was all "when I'm an adult, I'm going to stay up forever". Being an adult, I can barely stay awake, lol.)

And the Swiss dress immediately made me think of Beauty and the Beast. :)

Im so gutted ill be missing it this year! I usually really enjoy watching but alas this year ill be on the overnight bus to Cologne Germany from London while its on and will miss most of it :( Ive seen our entry (Lucie Jones) in a few musicals and shes not bad but ive not heard our song so cant really comment. Not that we'll get any points anyway, we never do lol

I love Eurovision! I'm so excited! Although, that said, I don't watch the semi finals (I like all the songs to be a surprise), and I've no idea what our entry is. Regardless, we're going to lose hardcore this year, I bet you. It's been 20 years since the UK won last, and we've been scoring dreadfully ever since.

Spain also scored really badly recently, with some exceptions. Let's see if 'Do It For Your Lover' helps my country score beautifully! :)

Sorry, but last place has already been taken - by Brexi- I mean Britain. Which, as a remain voter, breaks my heart.

Still, not as bad as Austria getting zero points the year after they hosted.

Haha, I feel you! I don’t think I adult well either. Sometimes it’s friday night and I find myself saying “I’m tired, let’s go to bed”, until I look at the clock and it’s only 9 pm. :D And yes! Beauty and the Beast! Exactly what I was thinking! Those big, brown curls didn’t help me in unthinking that either.

Belgium has only had one win ever, in 1986 ^_^' I haven’t heard this years UK entry yet, so I’m quite curious.

Tonight is the night, everyone! Who will win? I’ll be supporting for Portugal (aside from Belgium and the Netherlands, obviously). I think Portugal has a shot? Or in top 3? For Belgium, I hope we can place top 10. That feels possible. Italy seems to have a high chance as well?

Ooh i hope so! Though ive never had much luck with their wifi as they are a budget bus company and the plug sockets never work and the wifi is often choppy but since its an international bus im hoping that it might be a bit better.

Just looked up the UK entry out of curiosity. It's... not too bad, I suppose. A sort of dramatic ballad thing. Not wholly forgettable. Although it does sound a bit like cheap dance track where the beat just never kicks in. I'm resigned to our fate.
