hi guys!!! i've been sinking every bit of freetime i have into andromeda and i wanted to make a place to talk about the game!! i have no idea where i am in the game, and it'll probably take me years to finish since my classes resume this monday. ;___;

what do you think of the game so far and whose your favorite squadmate? as everyone who knows me expected, i'm madly in love with vetra!! i also really love our resident grandpa drack!!

I haven't had as much time to play it as I've wanted due to house-sitting, but I'm really enjoying it. The character creator was extremely disappointing though. I was like, 'where's the rest?'

It's such a huge game, I feel like it'll take me forever to finish, haha! My favourite squadmates are Vetra and Jaal so far, though I really like everyone tbh. I don't bring Cora along as much because we're basically the same class, and her and fem!Ryder's voices sound so similar to me in some moments, at the beginning of the game I had no idea who was talking half the time,

I am literally only leaving Eos for the first time. I keep getting caught up in Multiplayer LOL. had some time and joined me in some of the chaos. xD

I don't have Jaal yet, but so far Vetra is my gal. I love her to death, she's always with me. ;u;

turian + flax cannon = best site ever.

AWWW YES! We had quite a team going! That cannon ability is overpowered, jut run out of charges and end up stealing all the grenade ammo on everyone LOL.

Plus our pink team blinded the enemy: (It was so funny)

I think I've got around 25ish hours into the game lol. I think that may include the trial as well since I had the EA Access 10 hour trial?? My fiance and I are huge fans (I can thank him for getting me hooked on the Mass Effect franchise) so even though we work full-time, we've been spending our evenings playing Andromeda and basically nothing else.

I am loving Jaal. At first I thought he was going to be overrated and whatnot but I really do like him. The Angaran eyes are so freaking gorgeous too, I just had to throw that out there. I also really like Vetra. Idk how I feel about Peebee yet. I want to like her...but I'm not digging her personality early-game. BUT DRACK, YES. I made a fanpet for him bahaha I'll have to give him attention sometime soon.

THIS GAME IS GOING TO TAKE FOREVER. I spent like 5 hours on one planet today and I'm still not finished with it bahaha curse being a completionist.

Hey, is someone playing Andromeda on PS4 or XBox? How is the shooting working? I played the other ME games on PC, but I don't think my current one can handle it.

I'm having a bunch of fun with it at the moment. :D Lord, the game is HUGE. If I had one complaint (well, I have two) it's that it really could have done with more linearity at the beginning. I spent at least two hours running between the Tempest, the Nexus and the Hyperion and I just wanted to get on and explore. It's shitty because you know you'll be penalised down the line if you don't try to do everything. It's really hard to get that balance right. My second complaint would be the lack of... assets, I guess is the right word. Like, okay, I've fought the Kett. I've fought them at least 50 times. They could have done with more than a handful of classes, y'know. Same with the Revnant. Give me more variety, because the worlds are massive and it can feel a tad repetitive with time.

I'm ploughing through Voelo at the moment and it's beautiful, I'm really enjoying just trawling around between checkpoints and getting distracted by everything in between. I've spent at least three hours and not even scratched on the main quest here. It is a really good game. The early reviews did it a disservice, because it does feel true to the Mass Effect moniker. My fave squaddie is Vetra, she's a staple with every team, and I've been rolling with Jaal, Peebee and Cora (for her quest I don't really rate her tbh). I'm trying to romance Gil because my gay Ryder needs some loving and... that's kinda the only option thus far. Might have a couple of flings for the trophy.

I'm playing PS4! It's... a little clunky at first with the controls, but I've settled into it now. I play Engineer too so the auto-aim of my powers means it's not so intensive, I'm generally rubbish at shooters/anything that requires hand-eye coordination so yeah, it's fine. I played the others on PC but my laptop would have suffered too much. You don't really need to micro-manage as your squad members are relatively competent.

WHAT CAN I SAY!!! I'M PREDICTABLE!!! TBH I'm really excited to be seeing more female turians in general!! It's so refreshing after only seeing One Whole Lady Turian in the trilogy. EVEN THOUGH SOME OF THE TURIANS ARE WEIRDLY GREEN.

I didn't set my expectations for it too high, because I was super disappointed in Inquisition. I have a few complaints about the writing and some stuff from a design standpoint, but in general I'm really enjoying!

Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with the character creator options! Honestly, the thing that bugged me the most were the scars because even when you lowered the opacity they looked fresh. Which... works fine I guess after you get into some action, but I was really hoping for some faded scars and stuff like that. I ended up just playing default fem Ryder, which is fine because sometimes people call me by my first name (I'm wondering if it's the same if you change her or male Ryder's appearance but leave their name the same?).

I've been wanting to do multiplayer but I don't have anyone to play it with on Xbox. :( I'll prolly start playing it alone which isn't as fun, but it's something. I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A PS4 SO I COULD PLAY WITH YOU GUYS. ;___;

I think I've put ... 35ish hours in now? Today's my last day of spring break, so I'll probably spend most of it playing Andromeda.

I was honestly surprised by how much I like Jaal. I'm not really sure why, because I never really had anything objectively against him when he was revealed. I like Peebee! She really grew on me fast, and I love her banter with Jaal and Vetra. In general, I really love the level of interaction between squadmates and Tempest crew members. I feel like they really pushed the idea that these guys have relationships outside of their relationship with Ryder, more so than they have in previous games.

I've been playing it on Xbox! I have the trilogy for both the 360 and PC, and I've always preferred playing it on console because I'm MUCH BETTER at aiming with a controller (and I never bothered hooking a controller up to my PC). I've been enjoying the combat, but it definitely takes some getting used to with the jumpjets. I miss being able to control my squadmates powers because it made setting combos off a little easier, but I've been managing. You also only get 3 three powers (that you can swap out), which is a little disappointing.

They also removed Warp from what I can tell. I don't know how many people actually care, but it was one of the powers I used a bunch in the trilogy LMAO.

The lack of diversity in enemies has been really driving me up a wall. I'm sure it boils down to budget constraints, but I'm already tired of fighting the Kett (more so than the Remnant, but I'm sure they'll get there too), especially after Voeld. Seeing some of the same creatures on planets that are so wildly different and also nowhere near each other is a little strange too. I'd understand it more (albeit, find it a little lazy) if there was an at least explanation of "Oh! Well, the kett/angara brought this species to multiple planets".

The worlds themselves are really pretty though, even if they're a little repetitive! I'm excited to see the rest of the planets.

Right? I never play as default anyone, but I was almost tempted to because the CC was so lacking... I did end up dicking around long enough to get a decent-ish looking Ryder, but I'm not sure if you still named them Sara/Scott that they would still call you by name, maybe? It'd be interesting to see.

But yeah, I'm just keen to see more of the game and learn more about everyone and everything, haha! I'm like, 'let me know EVERYTHING.'

I actually don't know how many hours I put into the game now?? Apparently I was totally off because when I finished today, it said I put in 21 hours. And I feel like I played a lot more than 21 hours, especially if I include the trial. Idk.

I think it's just because Jaal is a new species to Mass Effect and everyone was pretty hyped about him prior to the release, but I just had the mindset of I won't know until I actually meet him. But he's really sweet! I like that the species is emotional. As for Peebee, I just have mixed feelings currently! I liked her more when I first bumped into her, but I don't care for the attitude of her mentioning that she won't be staying long, yadda yadda. I do like that she has some character and a 'tough' mentality and whatnot though. I just need to get further into the game and get new dialogue lol.

ALSO I admit, I do miss the power wheel. I used so many different powers in the trilogy that I miss having options in the middle of a fight handy.

Maybe we could set up a night once a week at least or something where we could play some ME:A together! Jaal finally joined my party and I went to the first of 2 planets. So distracted by sidequests it's not funny...

I feel you and both. I miss that too. I know I can make different profiles and switch between them for abilities... but only having access to 3 is kinda meh. D: Menus seem so clunky!

I grabbed Jaal a while ago but then I zapped him by accident and have to start over again LOL had a friend make me a bhakoru for now on the official release day. I've told myself I'm going to watch for Vetra, but I'm sure the user might come back since they've only been gone 2 months. The things we do for fan pets lol...

It's a good and bad thing. I love how we can just pick whatever profile we are in the mood for rather than having to be stuck with one. The first time I ever played the first Mass Effect, I picked Vanguard BUT I hated using shotguns so idk what I was thinking. I literally started over just because of that lol. However, I hate it when I'm rocking biotic powers and come across some Remnant Observers and think "Wow I wish I have Overload equipped." I had quite the Sentinel setup on ME3 and used practically all the powers soooo I just wish I had more than 3 options at a time lol.

I searched Jaal's name before out of curiosity and noticed that you own him, congrats! Zapping mistakes, oh no I hate those. What was Jaal before you zapped him on accident? SERIOUSLY THOUGH lurking for any pet name that could potentially clear is rough. I was watching a name that would've cleared in two months (not a fanpet), but the user logged back on the other day lol. If I don't forget, I'll totally keep an eye on her and help you try to claim her if her name clears!

Yeah he was a scribble experiment # 549. Going to probably make him a scribble bhakoru and make him a silly overlay like my pet undercover matt. Yeah I know that feeling for pet name clearings haha, it can get SUPER frustrating.

BTW what are you playing ME:A on? You a PC or a console person?

Ohhh yea I recall that now! Though I do love Bhakorus (because I love dinosaurs) so that will be just as awesome! Don't know what I'm going to do with Angara yet. I created an Escalade because the design of its head kind of reminds me of an Angara. I don't even know what to call the things on the Escalade's head but IDK I just sort of picked one for the time being. I need to stop being lazy and earn sP so I can work on my pets.

I'm a console player. I currently don't own a PC that could handle any sort of game xD I couldn't even run Goat Simulator, goodness. I play on Xbox. But honestly I haven't touched multiplayer since the trial! I've been so hooked on the campaign that I haven't given multiplayer any love.

Why thank you! I might revamp his story a little, along with Commander Shepard's. Want to shorten them some. And might tweak a bit. Idk if I necessarily want a story that is basically retelling what happens in the trilogy, lol, sort of want to come up with my own idea that didn't happen in the trilogy or something. Idk! BLASTO. I'm in love with the profile.

I was curious of what would happen if you changed her name. Granted, she mostly goes by Ryder (though I've seen 'Sara' pop up a couple times). I like your Ryder! Admittedly, I am running the default Sara. When I got the trial, I got so anxious and just began playing as is. Idk if there was even an option to edit your character in the trial or not, but oh well. I would've liked to change her hairstyle (even though Bioware is not the BEST with hair lol) and tweaked her face some, but oh well. I didn't tweak Scott either lol.

Yeah the face options were a bit... UGH. It's so weird the hair this time around was the best part. It actually moves and flows ;u; it made me so happy that it wasn't a solid mass like other Bioware games. xD Almost wish they'd add something like the black emporium in Dragon Age where you could change your appearance on whim. (At least a hairstyle place would be awesome...)
