Niall didn't know what Drew was on about but he was content to play with the cats whilst Tamsin decided. He'd promised himself he'd help her first.

Magnus snickered as he watched Drew's hair get nibbled on. "Good or I might 'ave to silenco you."

Still laughing, Drew said, "No one appreciates true talent." He tried to pout and couldn't. Instead he made a face at Magnus and said, "I'm going look for the puffs again." He started off and the raven gave a final tug on the boy's dark hair before flying back to the rafters.

((heading to bed now. Night!))

Paddy followed the group into the pet store, and laughed as Niall was followed by lots of cats. "I think they like you," she commented, as the black cat made itself comfy on the boy's hair.

She looked around trying to find the magical mice, seeing as she promised Magnus that she'd buy one for losing their broomstick race.

(OOC: and whoever else is in the pet store - I kind of skipped a few pages to catch up, so if Paddy goes quiet, just imagine she's still with the group, just listening to what everyone's saying ;))

“If you call that talent…” Magnus said with a snicker.

Niall smiled shyly as Paddy commented on his little following. “I think I must be chicken scented or something.” He giggled and blushed.

Magnus had found the magical rats and mice and was looking at them. “’Ey Paddy over ‘ere.”

Paddy smiled, "do you have a pet yet, Niall? I think one of those kittens would be perfect for you."

She heard Magnus call her over, and wandered over to the magical rats and mice. "Spotted one you like the look of?" she asked, watching the rats use their tails as a skipping rope, while two of the mice appeared to be doing handstands.

Niall shook his head. "No, I amn't. But Merlin's gonna buy me a puffskein." He did like the cats a lot as well. "Do ya have pets?" he asked.

Magnus was giggling at the mice doing handstands. "They are all really cute," Magnus replied. "'Ow's Rodney getting on? I bet whoever I pick would get on well with 'im."

"Puffskeins are really sweet, I've got one, but I left him at home this term. I've got a couple of other pets I brought to Hogwarts with me though, a Barn Owl called Mouse, Rodney the rat who was a birthday present from Magnus, and a puppy called Snowden."

Paddy rummaged in her pocket, and counted out the coins she had, wondering if she had enough to at least let Niall get a little closer to having one of those cats. "It depends," she said to Magnus, "do you want to pick a particular coloured one, or is its personality more important? Rodney's getting on really well, especially with that charm to protect him from anything that might want to attack him. His favourite trick at the moment is to sit on Mouse's head and preen her feathers for her."

“Really?” he asked smiling, “they look like a bundle of fur.” It was obvious he liked that. He was also looking pleased with her pets. “They sound great. What is yar puff’s name?” He didn’t catch the rummaging.

“Personality me thinks. Aww, that’s sweet. I’m glad you like ‘im.” Magnus watched as one mouse did what appeared to be an Irish gig.

"I wasn't all that great on thinking of a name," she admitted to Niall, "so I called him Puffy."

Paddy laughed as the mouse started dancing, "that one looks like he'd have a great character," she said to Magnus, "as long as you don't mind Irish dancing of course." Looking back over at Niall who was tickling one of the cats under its chin, she dropped her voice to a whisper and added, "that new boy seems really taken with those cats. I'd love to get one for him, but I've only got enough for half.... and half a cat is no use to anyone, especially if it's just the rear half!"

"That's what Merls is gonna call his." Niall thought the name was cute and said as much.

The little mouse was yellow with brown banding. Petting the little critter, he giggled at the idea of half of a cat. "Would me picking up the mouse 'elp?" he asked, he didn't mind forgoing their bet. "Or we could see what others are thinking. It appears several people wanna get 'im something. I 'ave an idea already... but we could swap and you get me idea, and I get cat or go in with someone. Or speak with Merlin."

"Nah, a bet's a bet," she said firmly, heading over to the shopkeeper. She spoke to him for a short while before heading back to Magnus. "When you've picked out your mouse, just take him over to the till. I've done a deal with the shopkeeper and promised to work here during part of the holidays, instead of paying outright." With a smile, she looked back over at Niall, who was still tickling the black cat under the chin. "It's not as terrible as some names a pet could have," she said, laughing at the thought of some of the names her Uncle had thought of for his pets. "You seem really attached to that cat, Niall," she added, "d'ya reckon you'd choose to come to Hogwarts next term?"

"Alright," Magnus said knowing better than to argue. The mouse scurried up his arm and sat on his shoulder. He grinned, "Thank you Paddy."

Niall looked up and smiled. "Oh, I'm definitely coming here. I was gonna tell Miss Gaia at the end of the tour." He blushed. Everyone had been so kind to him and even though it was overwhelming he had felt wanted for the first time.

Paddy watched the mouse run up Magnus' arm. "I think that's definitely the right one to choose," she said with a smile, "he looks pleased to have chosen you too!"

Paddy was pleased Niall was going to come to Hogwarts - there was something about him that seemed to suit their school, and she thought he'd never last at Durmstrang. "In that case, as an ex-Prefect, I'd like to get you something to welcome you to Hogwarts. How would you like that black kitten that's been getting all those chin rubs?"

Rosie didn't have to wait long as the tour participants left Las Palmas in small groups. She rolled her shoulders and stood up straight thinking if she should just follow a group or make her way to the Magic Neep by herself. She settled on the latter and slowly strolled towards the greengrocers. The weather was rather pleasant for the time of the year and she was she glad she had opted out of wearing her coat that morning. She did pull her scarf tighter around her neck. It wasn't quite like summer when you could more easily enjoy the sun outside. She stuffed her hand in her pockets and looked around at the buildings in Hogsmeade. She noticed Merlin entering a bookshop with Magnus, Niall, Drew and a girl Rosie couldn't quite recognize. Rosie made a mental note to visit the shop later to see if she could find a few beginner books for violin and ballet. She shrugged and continued walking lazily to the first tour stop.

When she entered the greengrocers she found she was one of the firsts. Her group of newly made friends must be taking some time at the other shops before arriving she thought. She listened attentively to Gillian's brief talk before wandering trough the garden and greenhouse. Rosie marveled at the variety of veg and herbs around her. She knelt down to rub one of the mint leaves and sniffed her fingers. The minty scent stuck and she broke of a leaf to chew on. Its flavour was quite subtle and Rosie liked that. She sipped on her strawberry kiwi drink and tried to find some plants she could identify. The garden back at the family home in France was huge and had its own vegetable patch. She found a variety of lettuces to her left and went to them for a closer look. They looked fantastic. The potion Gillian used must be wonderful. Not a single caterpillar was near the lettuce and their leaves looked very juicy and crisp.

Rosie enjoyed her wandering in the garden and headed for the greenhouse. As she entered she loosened the scarf around her neck and pulled if off. She stuffed the scarf on top of everything else in her bag. One of the first plants she noticed were the tomatoes. Further in the greenhouse a bench had been placed. Rosie returned to the garden entry and grabbed one of the apples in the display. She returned to the bench in the greenhouse and sat down. She pulled her bag off her shoulder and placed it next to her. She stared at the numerous plants in the greenhouse and enjoyed the very 'green' smell. She thought over the plants they were supposed to find and couldn't find a clue in her head. Was she supposed to taste everything until she found the one that tasted like boogers she wondered. Thus she sat pondering on the bench trying to find the answer to the riddle by herself.

Magnus nodded, "Totally picked me. 'E's adorable. Thanks again!" Since Paddy was talking to Niall now, the boy strolled over to Merlin and Drew looking at the puffskiens.

"I-I," Niall spluttered and simply couldn't find words. One pet was more than he ever expected but two was extraordinary. "I mean...thank you..." So many things were flowing through his head he just lost all ability to speak. Tears were threatening to well in his eyes.

"You're welcome" Paddy said as Magnus headed over to the Puffskeins. "And you're welcome too," she added to Niall. "The shopkeeper said the kitten shouldn't chase a Puffskein, but he's offered to put a charm on the puffy just in case if it'd make you feel more comfortable with them both being together."

Kyros had just finished his general sketch when he looked up and saw the girl was gone. Well, he guessed that would mean he would have to finish the drawing another time. Sighing, the put the parchment back into his backpack, taking another spare one. What should he draw now? He could hear his friends talking in the background, slightly nodding to their answers and sometimes chuckling aloud, especially when suggested he could be a villain. Now that he was in full Creative Mode, though, it was hard to focus on all conversations. His pencil seemed to move almost by itself, as he sketched out his new portrait.

It was the sound of people getting up from their chairs that woke Kyros from his art-induced trance. Quickly but carefuly putting his new materials on his backpack, he buttoned up his jacket again and began following the group out of Las Palmas. They made their way over to the pet store, where the others would try to buy a few pets. The shop was full of different animals, some magical, some not. It almost reminded him of his parent's menagerie. Except that he menagerie didn't have...

"They're SO CUTE!" Kyros' usually composed, posh voice went suddenly one octave higher as he kneeled on the floor to pet the kittens following Niall. "Look at these little balls of fur. Aren't they lovable?? You're adorable, yes you are!!" For once, he didn't care that his friends would laugh at his weird behavior. He was a huge cat person, and there was no way he would feel bad with so many cats around. "Guys, look at these precious things... They're purring!"

(OOC: I'M SO SORRY, but I was busy as hell because of work these days. I couldn't read all of the pages, so just assume Kyros kept drawing and listening to people chat...)

Merlin was super excited and ran to go see the puffskeins as soon as his wondering eyes permit it, Drew was also with him and he wondered if Niall got distracted with Tamsin and the cats, but he will go ahead and pick one for himself then wait for Niall to pick his before paying. "Found them!"He points at the hairy creature. "Let's see if any of them like me." He got close and put his hand inside the cage to see if any would come to him. "Hello little fellas, I'm Merlin." He smiled brightly, he had a special charm for animals. All the puffskeins were getting to him. "I can't take you all home. Drew which one you like?"

Tamsin was observing the cats, the black one Paddy chose for Niall was lovely yet her uncle didn't liked black, he always protested because she wore it too much but it was her favorite color to wear. "That is a very beautiful cat Niall, I'm sure he or she will be very happy with you." She was playing with other two, and there was a white cat with brown spots that she liked for her uncle. "How about this beauty?" She pet it and the cat was pouring softly. "What do you think Niall, would he like this one?"

“They are gravitating to you like the kittens are to Niall,” Magnus said to Merlin, “Its cute. See my little guy?” Magnus showed them the little mouse on his shoulder.

He didn’t think Kyros was weird at all. In fact he liked the way the other boy was reacting. “Paddy just bought me this wee little one,” he said voice full of awe. Niall beamed at the offer of adding a charm. “I’d love that, would make him or her nice and safe. I can’t thank ya enough.” He looked at the sweet cat that Tamsin was playing with, “I think she or he is perfect. Looks really pretty and I can hear the purring from here.” After a few extra moment, Niall excused himself politely to go look at the puffskeins. A pure white one caught his eye and he picked it up, forgetting the black kitten as still on his head as he listened to the soft trilling of the puffy. “Its already purring.” Niall looked like he died and gone to seventh heaven.

Merlin looked up to Mag's shoulder and smiled. "Oh wow it's super cute! What's the name?" He then showed a lime green puff to Magnus. "I think I like this one, isn't it cute?" He saw how happy Niall looked with the white one and his smile was wide. "Aww that one is lovely Niall, is that the one you would take? Look at mine, bright and cute."

He wondered if Drew have decided on which one to take but he didn't seem decided yet. "It is hard to pick." "Did Tamsin picked her cat?" He said as he rub his fingers on Niall's black kitty. "I hope your madam doesn't mind the pets, if she does tell her to send me an owl." Merlin grins. "You tell her you know a dragon that would make her let you keep them. Every kid needs a pet."

Tamsin got to them. "Did you find your puff?" She saw the two they had already picked. "Aww so lovable you two, and that mouse is super cute. It does tricks?" She lifted the white cat on her hands. "It's not that small but it is very nice, the shop owner said he is only one year old so it's still young and I doubt my uncle wants a baby. Plus bigger cats need adoption too." She grins. "I saw a nice owl over there Merlin, did you see it? It is bigger than Spellz and surely won't drop my letters."

Merlin frowns. "Spellz doesn't drop letters!"

Tamsin giggled. "Just look at it and tell me if you like it."

"I already have an owl." He pouts, he adored his owl so he didn't liked that she said he was useless.

"But your owl can't carry big things, if you want to send me cookies, he can't carry them." She nods.

"He can carry two." Merlin stick out his tongue. "Who says I'm sending you cookies, you have to eat them with me."

"Alright..if you are sure you don't want another owl...but it is very beautiful - it has ghost face."

"Ghost face?" He was confused on what she meant and was about to go see it but he stayed. "I'm waiting for Drew to pick a puff, then I go see it." Then he noticed Kyros was there playing with cats. "You want another one Kyros?" "They seem to like you." He had three cats playing with him all over the place. "I think we took over the pet shop."
