"Are you suggesting now or just in general? Cos I've already challenged 'im to the next course." He blushed a little though he wasn't sure why. "So what would you suggest we bet, Miss smarty knickers?"

Now that the remaining mud was mostly dry he found it much easier to brush off. Fade smiled up and accepted the water thankfully. But her compliment caused the ends of his hair to turn pink again. “Eh, you’re just sayin that.” He waved a dismissive hand but appreciated the gesture and willingly turned the rest of his hair a cotton-candy color just for fun.

Motioning to the course he went on like nothing was different. “Looks like It’s all about timing to me. If you get it right you don’t even have to think about the rings.” He shrugged. “I’ll go with you if you wana give it a try.” He was sounding a little more confident than he was feeling, but it was all in an effort to impress. Besides, how hard could it be?

Merlin smiled. "Ahh blue, the color has many reasons, for starters it is the Ravenclaw color but this is not why I picked blue. The color blue is one of trust, honestly and loyalty, it's the color of the helper, the rescuer, and to me you are all that. Plus the color blue reduces stress and calms and it may help you when you are, well you know in your more stressful days." Merlin nods and hoped that was a good enough reason for Magnus.

Merlin looked at after her exasperate words urging them to fly. "We are going now, and plushies are cute so why not?" He blushed and then adds. "What do you want us to bet? Money? Because I don't have much, and I won't bet on my books which is the only valuable thing I have." He smiles sweetly before whispering. "I can't wait to see the two of you race each other, can't put my finger on who will win."

"So, are we doing this ow what?" He looks at Magnus with a grin. "I'll try my best so it won't be boring for you."

Fade's hair became a sugary pink color after she noted it, which made Sauvage feel happy - it meant he could take a compliment well. He then went on to ask if she'd want to do the course with him, something she'd ben secretly hoping for since everyone else seemed to have already snagged their partners.

"Okay!" she said, then asked: "Would you razzer be the target or zee chaser?" She wasn't sure if she'd be that good at either; so whichever Fade preferred to act as, she was fine filling the other role.

(just got finished adulting so am free again.) Magnus was duely impressed. He'd really given a lot of thought to the colour choice and the ravenclaw was blushing but he managed to say, "Wow... I-I--you gobsmacked me mate.. Very thought out for sure and I don't think I deserve all that praise..." It was a rarer moment when Magnus was utterly speechless. The boy nodded and grabbed what gear he needed. "Let's race."

Merlin smiled when he saw his friend's reaction. "I think you well deserve it, so accept it." Merlin jumped on his broom and fly up toward the obstacles, he proceeded to the first slow ring, and the next...Magnus was already on his tail. Merlin speed up hoping not to hit one of the obstacles in the process and once passed the slow rings, things got more interesting. 'Hope I can make it to the u turn at least, and grab the flag.' He thought while speeding as much as possible, he twisted to one side to avoid hitting the fifth ring and barely made it.

"Yes, sir," he said with a smirk.

Magnus was right on Merlin's tail, speeding through and chasing after Merlin. This was fun he zipped around almost catching Merlin's flag on the third ring, but he had lost a few seconds on the fourth ring and was still behind despite Merlin having hit the ring.

Merlin felt Magnus closeness, it was getting too close and he wasn't far from that u turn, he tried speeding more yet he wasn't able to gain any distance between him and Magnus, he was right there almost touching his flag! Merlin decided to use his previous training position and turned upside down just when Magnus was about to get his flag avoiding the inevitable once again. Then he saw the u turn and speed up but the rings were moving faster and he probably wouldn't make it still he pushed forward extending his hand to grab the red flag, he grasp it when he thought it was already past his way and hold on to it. The excitement distract him for a second when he realized Magnus was next to him smirking. 'Bloody hell!' He thought while realizing his chances were pretty much gone.

Merlin turning upside down was a fantastic move on his part and stopped the boy from claiming the flag. But Magnus was gaining on Merlin and as his friend went to get the red flag, Magnus used the moment to take Merlin's silver flag. Grinning like a cheshire cat, he said, "Gotta chase me now?" as he started making his way past his friend towards the other red flag--and the finish of the course.

Merlin was not happy with his failure and chased after Magnus to try get his flag. He tried to go faster and faster, so fast he couldn't really see the rings anymore only his target, he moved fairy well through rings he couldn't see that clearly and was finally catching up on Magnus but not close enough to get his flag. 'Just a little closer.' He thought as he reached trying to extend his body as far as possible.

Magnus grabbed the second red flag and zigzagged around trying to shake Merlin's tail. Merlin was doing a really good job, he thought. They were approaching the end of the course and the very fast rings.

Merlin bumped Magnus broom with his and grabbed his flag but right at that moment he hit his head with the fast ring he didn't saw. His grip never let go of the flags but he lost conciousness and fell down.

"Arresto Momentum," Magnus bellowed and darted down after Merlin. He sped as fast as he could grabbing the boy as he neared the ground but he couldn't managed to hold his broom and Merlin enough to right himself and he fell the short distance into the mud still holding Merlin's torso. "Merlin!" he said, trying to wake him.

Merlin was immersed in darkness, a distant voice called on his name but couldn't identify it. Where was he? It would have felt very peaceful if it wasn't for the constant banging in his head. "It hurts" He mumbles as he tries to open his eyes but something was covering them. Suddenly he started remembering a race. His hand slowly reached to his eyes, they felt wet and he rubbed it the way he could with the flag in his hand. "I can't see." He felt then someone with him and took a deep breath to try identifying the person by smell. "Mag? What's covering my eyes? Mud or blood?" He tried to sit down but simply fell back down.

Magnus helped wipe off Merlin's eyes. He wished he knew the levitation spell but he didn't. So he simply slipped his hands under Merlin and picked the other boy back up carrying him. "Don't worry, gonna take to you the 'ospital wing." He started off before anyone could stop him.

Merlin could only felt his head, it felt heavy like it had grown triple its size. He could feel movement and heard Magnus said he would take him to the hospital. "Thanks." Was all he managed to say as he tried to open his eyes but by doing so the light made his head hurt even more. "I think I'm going to throw up." He was so dizzy that his stomach felt like it twisted inside, after his words he felt Magnus stop so Merlin moved his head to the side and let it go. "Sorry." He was embarrassed but couldn't help it.

"It's okay," Magnus said, "probly a concusion. Tell me if the movement gets to be a problem, k?" Then he started running. It was harder with Merlin in his arms but he knew he probly couldn't carry the boy the entrie way without running and Merlin wasn't feeling well so it was best to speed things up. In short order they were at the castle door. He had to go slowly now because the stairs were too hard to get up in a run with another person in his arms. Finally, he got the boy to the hospital wing and waited to know how he'd be. He was worried.

Merlin didn't remember how he got to the hospital at first, but then remembered it was his friend who had brought him. "Thank you." Was all he managed to say before hearing the nurse mumble a lot of non sense to him. The nurse treated him but kept saying she would send an owl to Merlin's mother because he was too reckless. Opening his eyes slightly he saw Magnus figure, he looked worried and it made Marlin feel bad. "I'm sorry Mag, I told you I'm a public threat." He tried to smile. "I'm fine, really...I have a hard head." He then laughed. "I'm sure Eros won't let me back to the workshop or him." The nurse told him to be quiet so he did and just stayed still.

"Non sense," Magnus said, "You did amazingly well and i'm oping you can come back and finish the workshop." He looked at the nurse pleadingly. "You weren't reckless at all."

Merlin was grateful he had a friend like Magnus. "You earned more than a plushie so I will think of something special." Merlin still had the flag in hand. "At least I got two flags, wasn't so terrible." Merlin wondered if he would be able to return to the workshop. "Can I go?" He asked the nurse who said no quite sharply.
