MORE than crystal clear, because most crystals aren't perfectly clear. And we, as users, will mistake that for something else. Perfect !

Idk, plastic wrap isn't super clear as soon as it starts to wrinkle. And it picks up all the smudges.

Im okay with the staying with increments of 10. If you want, you can have just 5 copies on site leaving the remaining 5 in limbo forevers! I will just always remember to say "Max 10/20/etc copies EVER on site." That just means that is the max that will ever be on site, doesn't mean you can't just put 5.

So, let's say I have said that there will be a max of 20 items on site. Will I get in trouble if I only end up submitting 3 batches of 5 each? Or do I have to pay for the remaining 5 slots myself so that they are on site? I just want to clarify, because I started making my first CW when batches were still 10, then it got approved when it was changed to 5. I had originally said 1-2 batches depending on interest, which is now 2-4 batches since the batch size was changed, but it's still a max of 20 items. x.x I have 3 slots filled on my 3rd batch of 5, but I am not sure I will have enough interest to fill another batch of 5. Does that mean I can't submit batch 3? It seems a little weird that we would still have to fill 10 slots to submit when the batch size is now 5. If that is the case I don't really understand why they would bother changing the batch size. I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound rude or anything, it's just a tad confusing, especially for someone new to CW releases like me. xD

Just my rambling thoughts here:

So... I don't truly understand the point of making 5slots/batch a thing if you can't actually submit for five copies... I guess I see that if you're having trouble filling batches now you can submit a batch of 5 to get your item on site and to the people waiting for it... but if you fill one batch of 5, and submit, creating 10 copies, including 5 that can't be released - do you actually pay for those five? If yes, It doesn't seem fair to the submitter to have to pay for ten copies and be told you're only allowed to 'use' 5 If no, it doesn't seem smart to have someone pay for $5 and get 10, knowing that humans are humans and some might forget or try to be sneaky.

And wouldn't some possible solutions for those dilemmas be that for submissions of batches ending in 5, either the system automatically erases five of them, or the submitter is required to create a ticket to get 5 erased, or a page is made where upon receipt of the items, the submitter presses a button that deletes five - all of these options refunding half the cost of submitting a batch of ten if people are paying that full price?

Nope, you're totally fine if you don't actually fill all 20 slots. You just can't say that there will only ever be 15 slots, because technically you can't submit with 15. You have to submit with a maximum number of 20 copies in order to have enough.

You're totally fine if you don't end up releasing all of the copies.

It's super confusing, so I get where the problem is.

When you submit an item for approval, you have to determine the number of copies available (rather than the number of batches now). For your item, you'd say it can have a maximum of 20 copies. You'll slot folks for the first 5 (the approval 'batch'). Once it is approved, the item will appear on your Item Management Page. From there, it will say you can fill up to 3 more batches (at 5 slots each) of this item. You can either slot your remaining full batches through there (much the same way you filled out the approval batch). Or you can move the item to your CW Shop and set the price and a password and then send out invites (you can do this if you have a partial batch and you don't want to cover slots). Once the batches you submit are filled (or the invites you've sent out are collected), you don't ever have to sell the remaining copies if you don't want to.

They changed the batch size to make submission costs more reasonable/help with folks who are having trouble filling single batches (since we were not supposed to say 'one batch only' and then use the direct-to-shop submission option if the batch didn't fill and we couldn't afford to cover the remaining slots ourselves, as that technically made the item unlimited, even if we only allowed 10 items on site ever).

I hope that clears it up some but if not please let me know and I'll try to find another way to explain it better.

So, you don't get 10 copies when you submit. Technically, a batch is now defined as 5 copies, but you cannot submit uneven batch numbers because the site mandates you set the max number of copies in multiples of 10. Every item is now default of 2 batches at the lowest. However, you don't ever have to fill the second (etc) batch. If you only ever want to slot 5 copies, that's all you pay for and all you get.

The issue that cropped up is that we didn't realize we couldn't submit items as a single batch now. We thought, since 5 is the new batch total of slots, that we could submit a single batch or 3 batches or 5 batches. But that's not possible with the site coding. So you can't say:

"Blue shoes, max of 15 copies ever." because it's not possible to submit the initial batch/copy limit at 15 copies. You can either choose 10 copies or 20 copies (or more, going up in multiples of 10). You can say, however, "Blue shoes, max of 20 copies but only ever selling 15." or "Blue shoes, max of 20 copies, only selling 15 at this time" etc etc. As long as you stick to whatever you state.

No problem. I dunno why I was having so much trouble explaining it but clearly I was because I rambled an explanation like 8 times and it was different every time haha.
