Ok I know we don't really talk much, and I might come off as sounding harsh or...tough love like. Sorry in advanced. Still respect you to bits with how much you manage in this crazy market.
As stated before, I feel you really should gauge batch numbers based on your private group's slots, and maybe even your public group's. I know all of us releasers (ok maybe just me) have that fear that releasing larger batch numbers are going to devalue our items. The thing is though is that adding an extra 10 or 20 copies are not going to kill that value in terms of your Pie Strands and Shard Strands. Take the Harry Potter ones for example. I can't find a single one for sale OR trade even, unless I'm not looking hard enough.
Think about it. How many peeps were added to the drop lists after those 20 copies filled of a shard strand or a pie strand? In addition, there were peeps like me that never bothered to ask to be added since the darned thing was already full and knew nobody was dropping. 10 more people? 20?
Now then, for your lesser known/popular items, I COMPLETELY understand keeping the smaller batch numbers. But when it comes to popular items that you are afraid people will flip for a profit, that's supply and demand. You know the demand is there. Where's the supply though?
Peace. Someone said that sounded condescending but that wasn't my intention. I really mean peace as "Hopefully things get better" (about the pass out from tiredness x.x)
Ahh I meant to post on this days ago and just spaced. But I read through a lot of the responses and I think they're all really good suggestions. I don't have any fresh suggestions of my own, but I do know that I love when you do the different types of release methods (raffle/24hr/etc.).
I can't say I haven't ever traded an item or accepted offers on things that were higher than slot, but I definitely don't slot on things with the intent of resale (I just get way over my head or sometimes forget I've even slotted on things - I'm trying to keep this in check).
Anyway, I definitely think you should do what makes you comfortable. Subeta is something that should be fun not stressful and if it's just going to ruin the experience for you, then it's not even worth it to do x or y. That's kind of the reason I stopped releasing privates. I did have a few of them, but then having to keep track of them and worry about friends reselling or whatnot just really got stressful on me so i just decided to not bother doing any new privates and now releasing stays fun for me. Releasing CW just should not cause you so much anxiety.
I hope you feel better though. By the looks of it, you have all our support. <3
