yeah, it seemed like a good investment! i figured all those orbs would've been more subaki or bartre anyway, so now i have plenty of space for more bartre 8) (or at least i will, once i finish up some merges, hah.)

jesus, that's some luck D: in that case yeah, way easier to just do full rolls and be done with it once you get a 5* out of the banner. it's the same reason i hate rolling for a unit that's sharing a focus -- looking at you Fancy Chrom -- summoning is just the worst.

- which is what I usually do, but if there is a unit that I actually want... it just never happens. I should give up caring about what units I get and just pull until I get something. It worked out well for me on the last legendary banner, and the summer banner last year. There really aren't many FE characters left that I really want and would spend a lot of resources to get. The only reason I'm trying so hard for Ninian is cus I want a dancing flier and don't like azura. I need another blue dancer like I need a hole in my head.

My arena team this week is sucking a lot. I fixed it up so I would be getting scores over 700, but I keep losing units, or losing entierly. I spent 3 crests today to get that stupid one orb! I should maybe scale it back a bit. I just figured since Fjorm was the bonus unit, I should use some water allies, but I keep encountering really tropey teams like 2 dancers + Wrazzle Dazzle Genny painful blow and a repo unit. Or drawback/repo infinite loop until I sacrifice someone.

Tried to go for the Lobster Lord on my first roll and other subsequent rolls, but the only five-star I pulled was Young Tiki. Not bad, but I need to pull Ryoma.

Also, I think my Wo Dao+ Hana build is coming along nicely. Just need to get Reprisal and Desperation from my Karel fodder and increase the star rating to four on Hana. Oh yeah, also need Threaten Def.

Hmm yeah I think the key to success is a unit that can tank all the colourless units and horses for their mobility; being able to skirt around the map is always so useful when you're facing hordes of reinforcements. I used Fae to eat the bows and ninjas but you'd have to look out for the green tome with Nowi. Aether probs helped too. Raven mages might be handy to soak up hits. I moved Lyn to the right and Ryoma followed her over, which was handy as I thought he'd go after Fae.

And yeah for Arena I'd say don't underestimate the perks of the arena buffs. My team has Zelgius, Effie and Fjorm on it and it's impressive how hardy they are; semi-merged Effie has 67 HP which means she can park on most defence tiles and crush foes. They're a big stat up and your enemy can't use 'em, so let it work to your advantage.

Ugh I'm having trouble beating Ryoma's maps on Legendary, let alone infernal. I REALLY need to invest some time in building up my level 40 5-stars with their planned movesets so I have more teams to switch between for this sort of thing...

I'm actually glad you posted that because I keep forgetting about the arena buffs! I always switch out a unit for whoever gives me a score bonus, but I keep forgetting they get extra stats now, too! I'll need to start paying more attention to that. Out of curiosity, what sort of build do you have on your Fjorm? My Fjorm is a hot mess who is getting ignored 90% of the time, but since she regularly rotates in, I guess I should pay a little attention to her -- and your Cordelia build is so solid (she's SO much more fun to play on now!)

I think L!Ike could do a good job at tanking the bows n stuff too, with QR + DD3 in the seal slot. (I promoted a Subaki for him because he's gonna be in regular rotation and definitely haven't regretted it). Only thing to look out for is the Poison Dagger ninja, but he comes in towards the end anyway.

I actually just run default on Fjorm + Reposition. I think the magic comes with QR3 in the seal slot to give her some offensive presence. She is very, very good at handling ranged foes but can stand in front of reds if she needs to. I'd say she's an enemy phase ranged tank; Ice Mirror is gimmicky but gives her a unique flavour.

And yeah, I love Cordy so much! Haha she's so great. I was slightly underwhelmed until I gave her an A slot and then was like, oh, the build actually works. Galeforce is a great skill for her; I used to run Draconic Aura but she just doesn't need the extra firepower tbh.

- Not even Effie with DC and DD could take double dancer wrazzle dazzle painful blow genny. She essentially wiped out my team in one turn. I had resistance rallied Fjorm on a defensive tile thinking she could possibly tank it, but between the pain + savage blow damage, she for dropped to 1 HP, and then she was the only one close enough to hit her back, but couldn't fully take her out. I just have bad luck rolling. Nino and Amelia are quickly becoming my arena banes. And I have both of them on my team! They are not good checks for themselves. Another arena my whole team just got crippled by CC Saizo with smoke dagger and a bunch of units around him repositioning him out of the way. Managed to get a deathless run last season with essentially the same team, but this week instead of Nowi being boosted with res, Amelia is being boosted with speed. My streak score is still almost 3.5k, so I MAY still bump into T19, but it's rocky. Already lost two units in one battle for my next streak. Oh well, I don't really belong in T19 anyway.

I'm still having no luck with Ryouma. I've tried straight Horse Emblem, and Fliers, mixed trying to cover all the enemy weaknesses, nothing is working. This map is hard :( I wouldn't have beaten Lunatic even if it weren't for 0 stamina cost.

- There are much easier/cheaper fodder for Desperation and Reprisal than Karel, Shanna gives you desperation 3 at 4 stars, and reprisal can come from Kagero. If you have a spare Karel that you don't want, I'd save him to give his Wo Dao + to a different unit who would benefit from it.

I also have an idea for a Brave Sword+ build if I need to dish out more hits. I will need a 5 star Draug or any other Brave Sword+ unit before I do that, and as you said, I will need to summon Shanna if I need Desperation for the build. I'm at 16 orbs right now, so I'm going to wait a bit before I start summoning again.

I was already saving this Karel for something else, and it's not a bad idea to put a Wo Dao+ on Hana. I will think about it some more before I go through with it.

Edit: I also have an idea for a Slaying Edge+ build, but I have yet to pull out a Lon'qu or Saber from my summons.

- Yeah, I don't know why it seems so much harder to get brave swords than brave axes or lances. Wo Dao is a great weapon, I want an axe and lance version! (but there isn't really an axe or lance equivalent to wo dao in the games)

I'm at a little over 11,000 feathers at the moment, so I'm gonna need to do a lot of grinding if I want to get multiple units to five stars. Those Brave Sword+'s aren't gonna come by so easily.

I should also work towards getting a Slaying Edge+. It might be another good option for Hana if I'm running Moonbow over Reprisal. Let's hope I can sacrifice enough orbs to get a few Lon'qu's...

- Yeah, feathers are hard to come by when you are starting out, but they have certainly made it easier as the game gets a bit older. A friend of mine who has almost never promoted anyone to 5s has about 400k feathers right now.

w00! Finally beat Ryouma with Nino + dancers. Needed to inherit WoM onto Inigo, but I've been meaning to give it to him anyway. And had to sacrifice my Navarre for Blazing Wind, but I honestly doubt I'll miss him. He has always been the most useless of the GHB units. Doesn't even have any unique skills.

So far nothing from the legendary banner --;, I do have 40K feathers now though so decideing what two 4*s to promote this round

- She's going to get a weapon upgrade mod soon, I'd want for that and see what sort of interesting skills she gets from it, and see if you can build around that a bit. I'm not familiar with her myself, I don't her.

I'm on team Sharena, and the only person on my friend list on the team with me has Sharena as their avatar unit! It's really annoying! I thought people would have learned by now not to send out their supporting unit as their avatar. I've done 3 battles with 3 Sharenas on my team now. I lost two of them because duh.

I wanted Soup Takumi and failed in the New Years Banner ( got New Years Camilla back then though) so happy to have him. x_x Too many chances at spares to pull XMas robin though if I get lucky with the Bridal one and the legendary is still up I'll try for him or Ryoma.

The risk of spares is too great on anything but colorless for me in this banner so was priotizing with that before trying other colors later on depending on results.

- The risk of getting duplicates I didn't really want aws too high for pretty much every colour on this b8 banner. So I just took my freebie and ran.

I am going with Ryoma for the first round because I GOT HIM. Took way more orbs than I am comfortable with (and another Young Tiki) but he's mine and he's amazing. If he looses to Gunnthra I was going to go Alfonse, but I think Sharena might edge him out :C

I am really enjoying legendary Ryoma. Mine is +def -res but he's still a complete beast (he can deal with daggers fairly well, and if you put Iote's shield on him he'll take out archers as well). I have a few Soleil's floating around, so I am thinking about giving him Firesweep Sword+ eventually. Bushido is sadly underwhelming for a B skill, but at the moment Raijinto + Vantage is king. He is very squishy to mages though.

I tried training 5* pity breaker Soleil up the other day along with Mia but my goodness my ear drums. I don't know if I can bring myself to do it, and it's straight up tempting to fodder Soleil off for her sword.
