Dealing with a bit of a family emergency at the moment but there's nothing I can do, other than wait to hear back from my dad. My grandpa (his dad) was found unconscious by one of my uncles. He's in the hospital now and he's accompanied by two of my uncles. He's conscious & undergoing tests. Dad's over 2.5 hrs away so he's waiting for now and if needed, will come down. If needed, I'll catch a ride with a family member to go see grandpa, but right now it's better to just wait. Plus, it would stress him out to see family members in the hospital, so although my first instinct is to find a way to see him I have to just sit and wait. Hopefully, it's not too bad.

I got to say goodbye late last night. Grandpa passed while the family had gone home to rest a few hours... suspected he'd do that. Always the trickster & wanting people to smile. If things go according to plan, funeral shall be next Sat.

Although I'll be around & read things, I might not be quick to reply. Not in a super chatty mood, just feel like trying to keep myself distracted to not be super sad.

Been extra busy the past few weeks with family stuff, work, and now a horrid head cold. Trying to make some time for this site during my favorite season, but this month is crazy with family visiting from out of town. It's our first holiday season together with all my mom's sibling since her father passed away last year, so I'm really looking forward to that.

Missed Melody yesterday after coming home from work late and immediately going to bed. First time I missed a day since I started :(

Sorry to hear about your grandfather. It was sweet to think he was playing a trick on you all. Before my grandmother passed the hospital was going to send her to a long term care facility since there was nothing more they could do and she wanted nothing but to go home. They brought her home and she passed that night at peace and right where she wanted to be.
