I'm getting the same thing. The way around it is to just post anything then go back and edit. The whole board shows up after you say something. Very strange!

I see that! How very weird. Even weirder, I'm rp-ing over on Wizarding and that board is working fine. I posted this before I began the rp, though. Maybe something was broken in the forums, but they fixed it?

It's happening all over the forums. You're rp-ing at Wizarding? I should get more involved, hopefully soon. Kbbob says to change the page number in the URL and also says it might be caused by the posts per page jumping back and forth from 20 -30. Who knows, let's just hope Keith gets it straightened out soon!

I saw on the site updates ping group that Keith is working on making the forum search work again, so maybe all this weirdness is from him working on that. I'm sure he will get it sorted out soon. But for now changing the page number in the URL seems to work fine-kbbob always seems to have a good answer to issues until they get the site running smoothly. I just started in Wizarding this term, and I have a brand-new character, so I'm doing as much rp as I can to get used to her, and make her nice and 3-D and 'real.' I've never tried to rp a kid before, so she has needed a bit of fine-tuning.

My character needs to be fine-tuned as I've added more to her since I wrote my profile. One day. Some day. I hope. A lot of people are posting that changing the page number in the URL isn't working for them, and some are reporting it works great. Wonder what Keith's going to 'fix' next? LOL

Hopefully he fixes the forums before moving forward to fix something new. :) Actually, I'm a huge fan of Keith. I like his process of fixing something, breaking it terribly somewhere in the process, listening to user input, and eventually producing something fairly spiffy that works. It makes him seem human and relatable to me. So I never get chuffed when something gets wonky...it will get fixed sooner or later. I came here from Neopets, and those site admins did not care at all about user input. I like this model so much better.

Where are you from in Canada? I used to live on the New York border with Ontario.

I've been here 9.5 years and am also a Neo refugee. I think most of us are. I love his openness, and his sense of fair play. People tend to stay here for years, not like at Neo where they flee due to all the stress. Did you used to live near Thousand Islands? That's where I used to cross the border on my trips down to Baltimore. I was born and raised in Montreal and moved out to Victoria several years ago. I'm loving it out here, winters are so much milder and there's no snow, but lots of rain.

And I did live right on Alex Bay in the Thousand Islands! I have heard that Victoria is a lovely place in general, but I did not know you had mild winters there. My time on Alex Bay left me with a true appreciation (read: fear) of the Ontario Winter. Eventually, I decided that I needed a climate that was at least somewhat milder, so I moved to Pittsburgh, PA. We still have real winters, but we are about 30 miles south of the 'lake effect snow belt.' I'm not as tough at 50 as I was in my 20's, but Pittsburgh still gets enough snow that I am content with it. Except now. Now it is 8 F, and that is just too cold.

8 F! OH MY GOD! Normally Victoria doesn't go below freezing during the day and in the evenings it go one or 2 degrees below, but we've had 2 cold snaps in the last month that left us shivering. About 25F. We were howling about how cold it was! I can't believe how soft I've gotten, I just can not deal with the frigid temps anymore. I've heard of that snow belt. They can get walloped! When we do get snow it's just a light dusting, you can see the grass poking up. The city goes nuts, newscasters pleading with us to stay home, the city shuts down, schools close...all for a light dusting! We have to wait for the streets to clear on their own since we don't have any snow removal equipment. Nanaimo will help us out and send their heavy equipment down if we really get a big snowfall, like 2 inches. Wonder what Victorians would do in one of the snow belt's big storms?

I had the same problem. It said I was on page 18, but it was from 12/27. I wound up going to the first page and then was able to get to the last page.

I used to live in the High Sierra in California and actually miss the snow. I'm in sunny So. California now though.

That snow belt was the worst winters I've ever seen. Our kids went to school if there was less than two FEET! I know I've gotten soft living here too. On a big snow here we get maybe 6-8 inches, and we are all whining about the 8 degree weather today. I loved living up there except the weather. The food was amazing, and the people were so warm and witty and wise, but after a time I just knew that I could not hack it anymore. I had my own shop in a mall in Syracuse, and one remarkable January night we got over 4 feet of snow, and the roof of the mall collapsed (no one was hurt thankfully!) and my store was smashed to smithereens. So I packed my bags and moved a bit South. No regrets. None. :)

I lived in the mountains of Western North Carolina, and I have always missed living in the mountains, but Southern California doesn't sound like the worst place you could be. Do you get some kind of winter at all, or is it just Summer every day? Because I can see how that could get old...

I've been down here 4 years now and this is the first winter I've felt cold. We've suffered from a long drought in California and it's hopefully getting broken this year. We've had a lot of rain so far and it starting again as we speak. But "cold" is only in the low to mid 40s at night and daytime is in the 60s, so by mountain standards it's balmy. lol

In the url you have to change the page number. I change the page number and then from there i keep clicking "next" until i reach the page i need. I hope this is fixed soon.

I hope it is fixed soon, too. There was a while there when changing the URL was not working, so this is an improvement. Hopefully they get it sorted out soon. :)
