That list is fantastic! Are there lists for other MB shops as well? The last time it was posted for Get Mugged was the first time I had ever seen such a list so I've been curious! :)
Hi ! The only one that I know of is for Apocalyptic Apothecary, found in a blogpost here. Inspired by that post, I started working on a table for Spells Galore, but it was so long and the items are so cheap anyway that I decided my strategy was "just buy everything." When the Cocoa Gifts came out then I made this one; I haven't checked to see if there are other high-value things to watch out for from Get Mugged.
At some point I'm planning to make a list like this for all the shops. I'm the sort of weirdo who does that sort of thing for fun. π

Sounds like the sort of thing I'd enjoy doing too. If you ever need help with making lists, please let me know how I can contribute. I really like to do the beanbag & plushie shops, but I could easily be persuaded to do the philosopher store, book nook and food market as well. My current strategy is just buy it all and hope for a wishlist item. Unfortunately lately those shops have been happening on days that I really haven't had the time to loot the box. :/
Oh, cool! Plushies and Beanbags would be a good idea; the shops are huge but some of the items are really valuable. Books and foods too ... also clothes, trading cards, stickers ... argh, just everything, really! π
What this project needs is: b[/b] for each shop, a list of the high-value items with their prices and their rarities, b[/b] getting that data into a spreadsheet so that it can do the sums, b[/b] extracting the useful numbers from that into a list.
I've made a multiplayer spreadsheet where I'm currently figuring out an IFS function to make it only calculate the numbers we need. For data-gathering I used Subeta Lodge, swapping between Sort By "User price (high to low)" and "Rarity (high to low)". If you want to start adding plushies or beanbags or something, please go ahead. :)
You (and anybody else!) are very welcome to join in ... and also to come up with better ways of doing it than I have. Multiplayer collaboration can be a lot of fun, and often a lot better than just one person pecking away at it -- just look at citizen science projects like Galaxy Zoo and the whole Zooniverse.

I don't think that I will have the extra time this week, but I may be able to work on that a bit next week. :)
I definitely agree that a collaboration would be much more productive than any one person doing all of the work. I guess my biggest concern is: do the numbers ever change?
Are the numbers loosely based on the selling price within the shop? If so, does that price still gradually go up or down based on demand like it supposedly used to, giving it the potential to shift the MB numbers as well? I wouldn't want anyone to spend a tremendous amount of time making a list if it's going to be completely null by the time the shop rolls around next time.
as far as I know then items's shop prices and rarities only change if Subeta staff actively change them. Or did you mean the usershops prices, by "numbers"?

No, I did mean the item restock prices. Perhaps I am mistaken or it was something that was changed back years ago due to not working as they had hoped. I seem to recall a time when the restock prices were updated to automatically change slightly based on that item's restock demand, but it was forever ago (can't even guess how many years) and I've gone through many bouts of inactivity over the years so it is probably just not a thing.
Come to think of it, if this was still a thing, surely the red apple chips in the food market would be more than the miraculously tiny sum they are currently (88 sp)!
:o I devoutly hope that shop prices do not change! And indeed yes ... I've occasionally wondered if that price is a typo.
I've worked out my spreadsheet now, and I'll put a few beanbags and plushies in just to make sure it's working; when you get the time, have at it! :)

February 8
The shop today is Trading Card Center.
Thanks for the ping. My finger can now take a rest. :P
First, thank you so much for that list. It helped tremendously. I love the idea of lists, especially when there are newer things, like the peppers in the Food shop right now. I used to write out lists manually for the MB, but I'm old now and my brain tends to short circuit at times. :P You are entirely correct about the escalating prices in the shops. That was an experiment that went terribly wrong. Fortunately, they scraped the whole system and repriced everything. You can still see the remnants today in the prices of old Holiday/Retired items that show the official prices in the 100s of thousands of sPs. Here is an extreme example. @ Its_Just_Me wow, that's fascinating about the prices. I've only been playing since this summer, I had no idea. But yeah, just look at this: [item2=Mysterious Melody Trading Card] Official Price: 139,644 Price Today: 8,000
Yup.
I'm going through SubetaLodge now for today's Trading Card Center. There's R99 cards and booster packs in there! Will report back when done.
[edit] oh jeez there are 22 of the R99 cards
[edit] actually there's only ONE thing there which sells at more than 100k. [item2=angelic booster pack] 2,274 4,548 6,822 9,096 11,370 13,644 15,918 18,192 20,466 22,740

What you found about the R99s runs pretty close to normal now. Back in the day most were in the millions, but now they tend to run under 100K sPs. What made yesterdays MB different was that the cocoa gifts are new and part of an achievement, so prices which were still in the "new high" range totally skyrocketed. In three - six months they will be back down in normal range. If the Food Shop comes up in the MB soon, the new peppers will be a good thing to list. :)
