I haven't heard of either, but I looked them up. The Shadow of the Wind sounds interesting! It's historical fiction, yeah? I haven't really read much mystery or historical fiction since I was a kid. I couldn't find The Last Summer of the Century translated to English, a book called In the Sea There Are Crocodiles by the same author kept coming up when I searched.

I read and write! I admittedly haven't been reading as much lately, but I'm trying to get back into it. I read a lot of fantasy and dystopian stuff, but try to mix it up. I finished Fun Home by Alison Bechdel last night, and I'm starting on The Road by Cormac McCarthy now. I have a stack of books to read. I write more than I read anymore. One of the summer events for the National Novel Writing Month is actually ongoing right now.

Sort of! The Shadow of the Wind is based in Spain during the Franco period after the second world war, but the story itself is fiction :) Oh yeah, I've heard of the crocodile book by him, but I haven't read it :o I think the author is Italian? I'm reading his book in French.

I think the road is a book I'll never read XD I saw the film and it was horrifying! Also the writing style would give me mental health issues LOL. But I know a couple people who've read it and loved it!

I actually met my writing goal for the month :) I'll keep writing for the rest of it, but I was aiming for 20,000 words and I'm at a little above that now. Somewhere around 24k or something.

We're planning to move to a bigger city about two hours from where we currently live. There's a lot more job opportunities there, along with plenty more to do. I'm most likely going to try to get a preschool teacher position there so I'll be able to make more money and hopefully get benefits. Might as well put my degree to use. xD Retail is stressing me tooooo much.

I'm hoping to get the new longer hair! It looks like it would be fun to work with. I love the colors on the Tempest items.

I was supposed to get an hour break for working 11 hours. I took a half hour break, then left a half hour early. I ended up walking home because Josh walked to my work when I got off and wanted to take me to dinner. It was super nice of him, but my feet were sooo sore haha. I'm really feeling it today.

Oh nice! I read somewhere that one of my favorite authors would write 200 words a day every day no matter what. He said he finished a book one day, but had 50 words left to write so he just started his next one XD

I had a love hate relationship with 1984 XD I need to re-read farenheit 451, because I read it in French for class which probably takes away some of it. I love fantasy books :D

Oh hey, congratulations!! :D Josh used to do at-home customer service for Amazon, but he's so so timid, he couldn't handle it. I've actually been considering trying it haha. It would help not having to leave the house. But it's unfortunate that you have to pay for your own separate phone line for your job.

I'm still on the fence about whether I should accept the promotion and stay here for another 6 months or so, or go ahead and move. I'm leaning more towards moving sooner because I'm just so tired of it here. And I don't want them to waste their time training me, only for me to leave soon after.

It looks like there's four books - The Shadow of the Wind, The Angel's Game, The Prisoner of Heaven, and the Labyrinth of Spirits? One of them is a prequel so I'm not sure how they all fit together.

Neil Gaiman is my favorite author! I'm SO excited the American Gods TV adaptation, but I'm not sure how I'll watch it. Maybe the Starz App or something. It's even getting good reviews!

He worked there for about a month before feeling too overwhelmed and quit. It was his first job and he just needed something with less interaction, I think. He did have to have a separate phone line strictly for the calls, which came through on a headset that you hook up. You have to pay for the phone line monthly, but the send you headset for free. It might be different now, though. This was over a year ago.

Yeah, now they send you the headset and some sort of token you plug into your computer and it's all through your computer! So, no separate phone line anymore. Is he good at computer-y stuff? He could try Apple online stuff? They send you a free Mac and have great benefits. My friend worked there for a time and it seemed like a good set up, but I think they really want people who know their stuff.

But between the teacher not approving my first placement for whatever reason and trying to move and not being able to find someone willing to have me in their classroom, I don't know what's going on haha.

Yeah, they've been really great about making it easier to get a lot of the older items. I've been enjoying the items you get when you pay with paypal or the other option. I use Paypal, so I was super excited to get the kitty headphones last month. I'm not too big on either item with month, but I kind of want to make an outfit with those pants haha

I don't like either item much this month, either! I was excited to see what they'd be but was sort of meh. They seemed weirdly flat and dull to me? But, I might be able to work with the top if I layer it? I might play around with it if I get some CSC and sell it if it doesn't work.

I feel like I rarely keep my HA in an outfit for longer than a few days, so it seems kind of bad that I spend $7 on an item to only wear it that long. Granted I do use a lot of them more than once, it's just odd still haha

I'm so excited to be off tomorrow! Josh and I might get to visit Columbus in the next day or two, so I'm excited to get a better feel of it and what it might be like to live there. We're still trying to decide on a roommate, and now it's between 3 people: Josh's younger sister, one of our friends from college, and Josh's friend from high school. Each of them have their own pros and cons, and it's really difficult to choose.

Aw, thanks! I had to get that sunbird top and I had the CSC on hand for it, luckily! I'm a sucker for gold. I used to hate gold, and now it's one of my favorite things ever. So weird, haha.

Yay! That sounds really exciting! Walking around and spending the night somewhere really helps to get a feel for places, but I know that's not always possible (the spending the night). I've moved a few places without really knowing anything about them, so I can't really talk haha. If you need to vent/rant about the options, feel free to message me wherever!
