Sooo, we went to a gold mine today and panned for gems. I got a fairly large raw emerald that the gemologist was seriously jealous of, along with a lot of other pretty gems and stones. Dad bought me a rock necklace and Mum bought me a rainbow pendant. We had lunch outside--the weather was actually not that bad today! After that we went to Helen where we went to the special artisan shops. Dad bought me a hand blown glass dragon and also a spoon from Holland for my collection, a little glass yellow heart pendant and wee little clogs from Holland. We have pie and ice cream for tonight. So it has been a really good day... plus my amazing friends who have made me feel super special.

They are native to parts of Asia, India, and Indonesia, so sadly I have never seen one in person. xD Ooo, that sounds awesome, I'm jealous! xD I make silver and gemstone jewelry, and I've always wanted to pan for gems. The raw emerald sounds awesome! Good sized emeralds, especially with with few inclusions, are pretty rare. Did you get to keep everything you found? =) The pendants sound cool too! Yeah, our weather was nice here, too. There was hardly any humidity, which is unusual for this time of year. It sounds like you found some neat things in the shops, too!
