Thank you all for the birthday wishes! It's been such a weird day. No birthday party this year due to the pandemic. But my parents came by together with a neighbour to uhh, ehh, let me google that.
Uhm, ok, google gives me a weird translation, so I'll go ahead and describe it instead: A while back we tore the wallpaper from the walls in the bedroom of my new (well, I'm living there almost 10 months now) house, and today we glued on new wallpaper.
So, google translate told me I should say: "My parents came by to decorate the wall", but somehow that sound like I'm sticking Halloween stickers on my wall. Another website suggests: "My parents came by to paper the wall", that sounds even weirder.
Anyway, there's now shiny new wallpaper on the walls, and we ate some cake together while I had the day off. Now I'm ready to get my new bed, which should be ready somewhere in the coming weeks.

Your parents helped paper the walls...if i take the translator i translate the text from german to english and back, so i can see if it still makes sense ..:) ... if not you can change the text until it fits, or you trust it that you are not terminated the friendship ... :)
