I also love shinwon, theyve done some things with his hair though lmao. I know Hongseok's family moved around a lot while he was growing up. Not 100% sure but his dad may have been in the military? So I know he lived in San Diego for a few years, I also believe he lived in Malaysia for a while . So he has decent english but I dont think he considers himself fluent.

On your response to Kismet, I hate survival shows for the same reason. Half the time they debut all/ almost all of the people in the show anyways so they put them through all that stress for no reason. Some of these kids have been trainees since they were like elementary school aged, it's awful to see some of them think they wont make it after all this time.

Hello! I was lurking too until recently but I have no irl friends to talk about kpop with and I checked in here to see if anyone was talking about the Park Bom comeback lmao

Welcome to the kpop abyss!! Lol, I fell in in like 2011/2012. It's been a great ride. xD Also, I feel you so much on the anxiety. I have depression and general and social anxiety disorder, so I very rarely chat with anyone ever, tbh. But sometimes kpop makes me go ahhhhh I need to talk about this or I am gonna explode/implode. haha Even then I am like ugh no why did I post. Like after I posted my big long post about BTS...I was like good lord, girl, calm down, why. Anxiety is horrible. T_T

Wooseok is such a giant, lanky maknae. Lol, he's adorable. And YUTO DA! hopefully you are far enough into the fandom to get that...lol But I love him. He is definitely a bias wrecker. >> And honestly, same. After the Winner/iKON show, VIXX's show, Monsta X's show (Yoonho getting kicked off was the one that really killed me omg...but he's in the group VAV now and they are killing it so it's ok now, even though they are sadly underrated), and even Twice's, I was like nope I don't like these anymore. I only watched Pentagon's since I knew they all made it in the end, lol. I haven't watched too much of Stray Kids' yet, but I know they all make it too...just seeing my baby Felix get kicked off even if he comes back will still make me sad cuz I am a giant baby. I much prefer watching things where all my faves are happy and having fun, lol. I still haven't seen the Burn The Stage show cuz I was like nope I don't wanna see them cry. I guess Dony and Cony have a new actually, but I keep forgetting to binge watch those. AND GAH Kino is a cutie...but also just plain RUDE. >> He has that Jimin duality that always kills me. What is with me picking the angel/demons as biases. lmao well biases pick you, not the other around I guess. xD

Thanks~!

Wh-why are we streaming Naughty Boy? Shouldn't we be streaming Shalala?

Yeah, he needs a cut. XD And I have memory issues so I actually had learned that about him...and then forgot it. I think it'll stick this time though~

Uhg I was going to mention the useless stress of it all too. I like the way they did Seventeen's debut show. It was a team effort to see how well they worked together and if they were ready to debut, and if not, then the whole group would go back to training.

For debut shows I wanna see less competing against each other and more teamwork building~

I associate Wooseok with hot more than adorable, but I see that too~ And yes I get "Yuto da," I'm pretty well integrated now. My sister really wants to watch Pentagon Maker so I might end up watching it anyway. Also, lol those are the same ones that have put me off of the survival shows (didn't see Twice or Winner's though).

Idol Room is pretty fun~ Totally worth watching!

I compare Kino to Seventeen's Hoshi a lot. A sexy dancer, but also a cute, giggly, cuddly boy~

Ahhh yes Seventeen's show was the best. I want all those "survival" shows to become like that. Unfortunately the bigger companies know that kind of stuff sells though. It's so annoying. I just want these idols who have already trained their butts off for years to be able to work together and be happy and not have to stress out more than they already do. :/

Ahhh, so sorry I'm late to replying to everything. D: Warning: I reply to a lot of different posts...also some that were not directed at me...but I wanted to say something. xP

Thank you for the welcome! Kino is very cute...which is one of the reasons I like him, haha. Although, I probably need to watch more Pentagon stuff before I really decided on anything, though. ^^ Out of the 3 you mentioned, I think Wooseok is awesome, too (not saying Yuta and Shinwon aren't, they are both wonderful guys); still need to check out that collaboration he did with Kuanlin of Wanna One.

And yeah...I wonder what it is about Kill This Love? I mean, the girls all look great and sound great...so...what is it?

Haha, yeah, the only person I can talk about kpop in real life with is my sister (who I got into Kpop after me), but even then she hasn't gotten into all the same groups I have/listened to as much. She /has/ watched Run BTS though and constantly pesters me that I need to watch it...I know I do...I've loved the bits I've watched with her. xP

I actually haven't watched any survival shows...I guess they're really bad?

I wasn't aware Seventeen had a debut show...I just know about their Going Seventeen...I think?...show that I have yet to watch. xP But yeah, teamwork building would be better!

You compare Kino to Hoshi? I guess I pick similar guys because Hoshi is my favorite from Seventeen, haha. (Again, from the little bit I've seen/watched xP)

Yay for lurkers, haha! I've heard of Park Bom, but have yet to listen to her. I'll add her to my long list, haha.
I think I also read that Hongseok lived in San Diego, so that explains the English somewhat? I believe his Chinese is also good because he lived there, too. ^^ Hearing all these things about survival shows makes me wary of watching them in the future. :/

Haha, thank you! It has been a great ride so far for me (and hasn't been a year yet!). I know I was skeptical before because of the not understanding thing...but I guess it didn't take much to get over that! I had that similar feeling of /needing/ to talk about Kpop or exploding haha...I just had so much love for Boy With Luv I just had to post here. xP My anxiety did keep me from replying here for a little while, though. I totally understand the whole depression and anxiety thing. I want to chat more with people...I'm trying to. c: I enjoyed your long post about BTS, though, so don't worry! I still need to hear the rest of the album, though. More stuff about survival shows. D: I guess there's no recommendations for those then, huh? Burn the Stage sounds familiar...what is that, again?
And yes, Wooseok is so tall and lanky and cute, haha. Yuto da...I did get that. c; Kino is really cute, though...but, rude? I guess I need to watch more stuff! I don't know if I've heard Jimin being called an angel/demon before (even though he's one of my bias wreckers, haha)...guess I need to watch more BTS stuff, too. xP And yeah, I've heard that biases pick you and not the other way around. ^^

Also, why the Naughty Boy streaming?

Yeah I thought of that too :(

Uhg, same.

I listened to Kill This Love again and maybe it's because it's barely over 3 minutes long and most title tracks now are at least 4??? Also it felt like other than the chorus (which only repeats twice not counting the bit at the end) there was no pattern to the song. Like, all of the verses were different with very little tying them together?

I got my sister into Kpop too~! And it's almost been 10 years.. what the heck... My one irl friend is also into kpop, but they are a bit less into it than my sister and I, but only because they are into a bunch of other things as well. Kpop is just kinda the thing that we are fully into (...and D&D). But I have met quite a few people on Subeta that I can talk about pretty much anything Kpop with and that is absolutely fantastic~

Also the Run BTS's are hilarious and one of the best shows. My sister and I quote them a lot. xD

Survival shows aren't bad per se. They actually have a bunch of fun things that happen in them as well, but there are times when the idols think they might not debut after all their work, or their friends get eliminated. It's just sad/stressful for them and since I am an empath and feel the emotions of other people...it just makes it really hard for me to watch them go through that. Which means I also miss out on all the fun bits that happen in the shows. Also we just wish the companies wouldn't do those kinds of shows because of the stress and trauma it puts the idols through.

Seventeen is really unique in so many ways. Predebut they streamed a lot of games/practice when they were trainees and I'm pretty sure it was called Seventeen TV. They weren't really on my radar at that time, but I had heard of that happening; that's where clips like this come from (some of the best moments weren't even in that, but you get the idea). The Seventeen debut show is also called Seventeen Project; here is a playlist that has the episodes english subbed (I didn't fully check them, so hopefully they're all good).

The Going Seventeen's are great~! They are currently changing up what they are doing in them/how they are doing them(?), but generally they are clips of what goes on behind the scenes and other random fun things that they do.

Hoshi is a solid Seventeen bias~ Seokmin is my Seventeen bias... also Mingyu, technically?, because he is my son I don't know why he is my son, but that was just the immediate feeling I had for him. uwu

Butting in on comments that weren't directed at me:

If I'm not mistaken, Burn the Stage is a Youtube Red BTS show that shows their behind the scenes time from their world tours.

And as for Jimin's angel/devil qualities... He is super sweet and loving, but also has some major mischievous tendencies, and he is a cutie but also hOT? Sooo yeah, Jimin is polarizing, lol.

Burn the Stage is this little series they had on youtube, but it's on youtube red so you have to pay for it. I haven't seen it, cuz like I sad they cry and I don't wanna see them crying lol, but also you have to pay for it. I might watch it one day though. I do like all those like real, behind the scenes stuff. It basically follows them along their world tour and shows all the stress and drama that happens along the way. They came out with a movie version a while after as well, which I have also not seen. xD Definitely watch the RUN BTS episodes on VLive. They are some of my favorite things in the world. I might start re-watching them again from the beginning actually. I re-watch them alot. lol OH, also their Bon Voyage show is really fun. It's just following them on different vacations, doing fun activities and games. I still need to Bon Voyage season 3 which is the last one they did. They have made on every year for the past few years, so hopefully we get another this year. I love to see the boys just having fun and relaxing and stuff. It's another show on V Live, but there are things on V Live that are paid for things,s o it something you can buy. Although, you can usually find eng subs for all their shows on google...I do that. I am poor and terrible. T-T lol

And yes, what said about Jimin is exactly it. lmao Also, I just mean like he is the sweetest, most caring boy in the world and always looks out for everyone around him. Like is the bangtan bombs he is ALWAYS the one preparing the cake for the surprise bday things. T-T But then also, he gets on stage and turns into a DEMON. He is a lot of the time sweet, adorable, mochi Jimin...but then he gets on stage and oof.

Fellow Jimin biased folk know the struggles. T-T lmao

Hmm...that could be it. The song did seem short. The no pattern/randomness seems right, too. I rewatched Ddu-dddu (I don't think I spelled that right) and while the song was similar, it just flowed better/was more cohesive? The verses for Kill This Love were definitely very different from each other.

high five for getting sisters into Kpop. xP Wow, 10 years for you, though! Time does seem to fly, heh. It's nice that you have a friend in real life who is at least interested in it, though. ^^ I have other interests too...but Kpop has made quite a dent in my free time, haha. Oh, you are a D&D fan? That's neat. I've never actually played a game. Closest I've come is when the rules are applied in some video games. xP Subeta was actually one of the reasons I became curious about Kpop, since I saw so many people who were into it. ^^ It's nice to be with people of similar interests!

Haha, I'm definitely looking forward to watching Run BTS. The bits I've caught while my sister watched were often hilarious. xP Plus, she always bugs me with 'You need to watch Run BTS', so it means that will stop. c;

Yeah, I can see that with the survival show thing. I imagine I would be uncomfortable watching all the stuff that they're put through...especially knowing some/ a lot won't even make it. I wonder if the fun bits are worth it... Yeah, the companies should go for different kinds of shows than survival shows...but I don't know if that's going to happen. Aren't they doing another Produce season?

Seventeen is really unique. They're one of the first groups I heard of. I'll have to sit down and watch the videos you linked properly...I added them to my 'Watch Later' list which continues to grow, haha. Thank you for the links!

Going Seventeen sounds like something fun to watch, too, then! More and more stuff to watch. xP

Haha, I'm glad you approve of my Hoshi bias. c; Seokmin is great, too! I adore his voice...plus, from the little I've seen, he seems like a fun guy, too. ^^ Mingyu is your son and you don't know why? Haha. Sometimes we just don't know, I suppose. Like how they say your bias chooses you and not the other way around.

Ah, YouTube Red...well, we'll see. Burn The Stage sounds interesting, but we'll see since I have to pay YouTube for that. xP

Haha, Jimin being polarizing sounds adorable. Just makes me like him even more. ^^

Yeah, the YouTube Red thing. I'm interested (though not in seeing them cry...I don't know if my heart could take that...), but paying YouTube for it...meh. I like behind the scenes stuff, too! There's a movie version? Huh, that's interesting. Is it the same stuff or something different? I will definitely watch Run BTS! My sister constantly pesters me to watch them...and I have really enjoyed the bits I've watched while she was watching. She talks about how she wants to rewatch them again, too, haha. Bon Voyage sounds super fun, too! Fun activities and games are the best, haha. Plus, all the different locations! I hope they come out with another season for this year, too. c: Yeah, just seeing them have fun and relaxing is great. Knowing all the stuff they have to go through. Yeah, I just signed up for VLive and noticed that there were videos they want you to pay for...with coins or something? I probably would scour to find stuff on Google, too, so don't fret about doing it! Being a student, I feel you on the 'poor' thing. We do what we must, haha.

Awww, Jimin just sounds cuter and cuter. - That's awesome t hat he prepares the cakes and all that. ^^ Becoming a demon on stage just makes him even more interesting? Haha.
I'll have to take your word on the struggles, haha.
I'm still getting to know the boys better but Jimin definitely seems a solid (for me) bias wrecker, haha.

Not a reply to me, but I noticed ya'll were talking about Seventeen. They are one of my favorite 3 groups. I love them so much, those precious, talented boys. T-T DK has actually become one of my biases over the past couple years. lol I have like 3 biases in Seventeen now...Wonwoo, Minghao, and DK...but I also love Woozi, Mingyu and adore Dino. I love them all, lol. It's hard to have one bias in any groups, honestly...let alone big groups. lol They have some vacation type shows too which are fun. Mingyu is such a cutie. He's always the one cooking and stuff in there One Fine Day episodes.

RUN BTS only gets better as it goes on. The early eps were fun, but they get better and funnier. I love these boys so much. lmao If you haven't already, I suggest watching the videos on the youtube channels Squishy Min Yoongi and Ella Sava. Ella Sava has a ton of hilarious compilation videos of different BTS stuff and I always die laughing.

Ooh, I hope the Bom comeback is good! (If not released yet). Wheein from Mamamoo? My sister just got into them, but I have yet to listen to them, haha.

Naughty Boy certainly is a fun and cute song. Gotta love the frogs and 'ocean views'. c;

Yes, Seventeen is an awesome group! They are all so talented...and there's so many of them, haha. DK has such an amazing voice (being a singer myself, I always listen out for exceptional voices, heh). That's a great bias list! Woozi is amazing and so talented. Lately, I've also come to like Minghao a lot more, too...although I'm not sure why and not gonna question it. xP I love so many in Seventeen, too...they're all so adorable! It really is hard to have a bias in groups...especially large ones. They're all so different and unique...too difficult to choose! Ooh, vacation shows are fun! Mingyu really does seem like a cutie. What are One Fine Day episodes?

Yeah, I've heard so many great things about RUN BTS from my sister, haha. She sort of 'forced' me (not forcing since who can turn down watching BTS?} to watch some of the sketch episodes, and they were hilarious! I love them so much, too, haha. Hmm, I'll have to look into those channels then! My sister has shown me some videos...such as the Secret Mission videos, but I haven't seen many compilations. I was looking into BTS' Bon Voyage on Vlive...realizing that that was something else I'd have to pay for, haha. Vlive has both Vlive+ and Channel+ stuff...a lot of coins involved.

Minghao and Wonwoo are my original biases. Wonwoo from their predebut stuff, and then Minghao came along and was like omg this precious bean I love him. never knew he would become Thughao (a fandom nickname, haha) lmao, he fooled us all. One Fine Day is a show where different groups/artists go on holidays and just have fun basically, lol. I remember watching a SHINee one years ago and it was cute. For Seventeen's, they made it more difficult and had them do tasks and kinda camp a little bit and only let them have a small amount of luggage (like literally a big freezer bag size of belongings, lmao) and made them castaways almost on this island, ahaha (this was the first season). It was amazing and you definitely get to see more of their personalities. It's actually when I started to realise just how much of a crackhead DK was and started to really love him. xD They have another season as well, in Japan. In the Japan one, some of the boys (DK, Mingyu, Minghao, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino) were given this mission to do a traditional japanese drum performance and they kept messing up and trying so hard not to laugh. It was the funniest thing. Here's the video of just that part if you wanna watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1x_dWFNAhG4

OMG wait lmao the sketch episodes were the first ones you saw?? Just jumping right into, I see. The school and jail episodes are the best things. haha One of my favorite episodes is this one where they had to jump into the photo frame and do poses and stuff. I was dying. There big mission ones are also super fun, like the christmas and zombie episodes. Also...they really like to spank each other a lot. The maknae line and Hobi (the honorary maknae line member) in episodes 54/55 (also some of my favorite episodes!) decided to do a 'try not to laugh while I spank this member or you will be the next to be spanked' challenge while the hyungs were resting, and I was crying from laughing so hard. These boys are wild. I love them so much. And then Jin just kinda subtly snuck in to watch towards the end and was laughing like what on earth is wrong with them. xD

I have returned!! [elmo rising from flames.jpg]

Seriously I have had so much trouble picking a Seventeen bias... I'm pretty sure I've claimed at least half of them as my bias at some point or another. For a time I just said it was Mingyu to alleviate all choice in the matter. Buuuuut I'm back to my original bias of Seokmin (as my sister suspected).

Being an indecisive Libra (who has two extremely strong ults), I feel you on how hard it is to pick a bias in a band. Like, I don't even know who my bias is for half the bands I stan....

Also I love that drum performance from the One Fine Day in Japan so much. Especially since they were actually. so. good? during their rehearsal, but then everything fell apart when they did it for real. XD

Yeah it's been weird seeing bands that are coming to the "end" (I like to consider it the next step) of their career and remembering thinking of them as rookies. Also it's been emotional. :(

I, unfortunately, have also not played a game of D&D since I am stuck being the DM. Honestly though, it's fun~ I'm also running a little one on one game with my sister that is my own fantasy world, but I've imported all the idols we like into the game as characters. It's been SUPER FUN, even though D&D isn't meant for 2 players, we make it work since she just runs a whole band. Instead of it being like a DM and one player, it's like two DMs? It's cool~

OOOOHHHH MY GOD. Uhg. Don't even get me started on my beef with Produce. (But yes there is another one going on right now.)

After Mingyu I have collected quite the assortment of sons and I love them all so much. It's such a different feeling from having a bias, but they are definitely "more important" than the other members to me. My precious boys~

OH, and speaking of Seokmin...

HAS EVERYONE SEEN THE PROMO PICS FOR THE XCALIBUR MUSICAL?!?!?!!

Haha, well Minghao and Wonwoo are great, so definitely didn't go wrong there. c; My bias list will probably change once I watch more stuff...I'm still not quite sure how Hoshi became my current Seventeen bias...though I'm not complaining, heh. Thughao? I'm sure there's definitely a story behind that nickname, haha. One Fine Day sounds like an awesome show to watch! (I've heard about a lot of variety shows being awesome. Is there someplace you watch them or do you just look them up on YouTube?) Castaways on an island sounds like lots of fun (to watch...not to participate in haha, I'm outdoors challenged). Seeing more of their personalities sounds great. ^^ Haha, DK, from what I've seen, does seem to be quite a lively one. Crackhead, though? xP I can't watch the video right now, but I'll make sure to watch it later! A traditional Japanese drum performance, hmm.

Oh, I don't know if the sketch episodes were the first ones I watched? I remember the one where they go to some sort of water park/pool or something and they had to figure out who was sabotaging the teams? Maybe that was the first one? I saw bits and clips of being blindfolded and having to guess food smells or looking at pictures and bunches of items and trying to tell what they were. Just whatever my sister was watching at the time, haha. But she specifically showed me the school and police sketch episodes, haha. And yes, they were hilarious!
I've heard mentions/seen some clips of the jumping into the photo frame thing. I can't wait to watch the whole thing. xP Ooh, zombie. And yeah, even from the little bits I've seen, they do like to spank each other a lot. xP That challenge certainly sounds hilarious, haha. The boys are certainly wild. c;

From what my sister has shown me, Wheein does have a good voice! May 2nd isn't that long of a wait! (My sister and mother's birthday, heh). My sister seems to really like Mamamoo, I enjoyed the songs she showed me. c:

Yeah, the transition from 'rookie' to higher from groups can be...interesting. I don't know if I'd call it an 'end' of their careers, though? Next step I agree with more. ^^ Oh, getting stuck being the DM. I imagine it's still a lot of fun, though? I don't even know anybody who actually plays D&D. A one on one game with your sister sounds like so much fun! Even though it's not supposed to be two people, it's awesome you guys make it work! Not the same thing, but I remember when my sister and I used to roleplay with one another /years/ ago. Some other people did it with us...but I guess we just stopped? It was fun while it lasted, though.

Okay, I will officially drop any mention of Produce. (I feel a bit sorry for the people on the show now, though...)

Oh, is there quite a difference between your 'sons' and your 'bias'? I don't consider any of them my sons, haha. There are a lot of precious boys, though. c;

Wow, Seokmin looks really fantastic in those photos! Plus, that song in the trailer was something else, haha.

I'm talking about bands like SHINee, B.A.P., & VIXX where I remember them debuting and they were rookies, but now they are all going to the army and doing solo work. This usually marks a major decline in the bands popularity and thus an "end" to their career. There are so few bands that have pulled back together after all going to the army and then coming back. Super Junior has done a really great job actually.

Being the DM is a lot of fun, but it is sooooo much work and then it's kinda disappointing when your players don't end up following anything you had set up and you have to improv everything anyway. So now...that's my secret: I just improv like 70% of the game anyway. I have my world set-up in my head then some major villians/npcs character sheets and dungeon maps, but other than that? All off the cuff. Makes it harder for me to remember what happened last session, but more fun for everyone overall.

I will inevitably see some Produce stuff, but really I'm just miffed about the inclusion of idols. I will refrain from ranting about it, but I liked the fact that Produce was supposed to be about trainees in order for them to get hype, but then there are other issues...wait I said I wasn't going to rant.

To describe the son/bias difference in emoticons... Sons: uwu Biases: w

Some of my sons: Hyunjin, Mingyu, Zelo, Haechan, Chani, Hwall, most 2000-liners tbh Some of my biases: Chan, Jaehyun (N.Flying, but honestly show me a Jaehyun I wouldn't bias), Jungkook, Young.K, Doyoung

As a gemini, I completely understand. No impulse control here, lmao. And ahaha yeah, the rehearsal was so good. xD UGGGHHHH the DK as Prince Arthur pics killed me back when they first got released. Like I didn't already love him enough...WHY. He's such a little good and weird and I love him so much...and then he does stuff looking all good like that and...my heart. lol I am a HUGE Camelot and Arthurian legend fan, so this pairing is too much for me, lmao.

I too, have a lot of sons in kpop. ahaha. SPEAKING OF, my precious children The Boyz have a comeback soon (the 29th)!! Everyone, please support them. T-T

Hoshi is a great bias. Such a talented and funny dude. Lol, he's Thughao, because photos surfaced oh him as a kid like posing with knives, lmao. And ones from fansigns where fans brought him some plastic toy guns and he posed with those. I can't. xD

AH, the waterpark one was hilarious. I still can't get over Jungkook in the back of the pool just randomly yelling BANGTAN. haha And I loved the smelling one. These weirdos know each other's smells. Mostly Jungkook did...lol.
