I only go every two years so it's not a bother. today I have an eye doctor appointment and this is one I really dislike. Takes all day after the dilation before I can see good again.

Totally agree as I have an eye doctor appointment next week, think my cataracts are becoming more of a problem especially in my left eye. Hate the dilation also, thank God for the special glasses they give so the daylight isn't completely blinding. Might not make it grocery shopping today as it is still high humidity but will be cooler the next couple of days they say.

Agreed, I'm grateful that my appt is not until the afternoon and I can get my dailies done before I leave.

Well i had a scare last night. For some reason my bedroom window went open more then suppose (malfunction) to and Meddy (my indoor cat) escaped. Boy i thought i would never se her again. Been searching for 1 hour and finally found her a floor lower in my flat. My downstairs neighbour saw her walking and i yelled grab her! Lucky she could grab here and she is home safe like nothing happned... Me still a bit scared i will lose here and i keep checkig my windows.

So glad you found her so quick and your neighbor was able to grab her! So scary.

Thanks! How did your doctor visit go? I was thinking when you said it took a whole day for your vision to get back to normal that when I go it doesn't. And they always dilate my eyes. I know they always make sure I have sunglasses, which I have to. Sunlight gives me headaches and sometimes they turn into migraines on a regular basis. When my eyes are dilated it is a lot worse. But it seems to go away pretty quickly after I get home. Grateful for that.

Very happy that your cat was rescued for you by a neighbor. Would be terrible to lose her simply because of a window. Odd thing is I dreamt of cats last night and I haven't had one in years.

Am with you there, sunlight and my eyes do not mix. They say it is because my eyes are a light color being green. Am lucky that I stopped getting migraines but never got them from the sun. My skin is the same way as I don't tan just burn, freckle then peel but I avoid doing that as I don't want skin cancer. Guess I really am a moon child, LOL.

My eyes are brown so that's not my reason. I think its the glare that does it to me. Yuck. I used to tan when I was younger, but I pretty much avoid the sun altogether when I can. Headaches and heat affects me badly, and I'm afraid of skin cancer too. Mostly just love the night so you can call me a moon child too. Or a vampire. lol

probably because I have had cataract surgery or my diabetis. one or the other. anyway, eyes doing good now. and it usually burns when they dilate my eyes too. really not a fan of all that.

I have cataracts now but they aren't big enough to have surgery yet. That unnerves me a little. My father said it wasn't too bad except you could see everything. What was your surgery like? I am diabetic too and have had some vision probs because of that as well. Yeah it burns some when he dilates my eyes. Don't care for that. But my doctor is very thorough and nice to talk to, and I usually don't mind going overall, esp since it's only once a year.

Tuesday I go to my eye dr about my developing cataracts and there is nothing that scares me more. Was not good news to learn that I can see everything. I'm not diabetic but might be having more eye issues from the strokes I've had. Wish my appointments were not in the summer.

Hope your visit goes well and you don't need surgery yet. My father said after the surgery and recovery he was amazed at all he had been missing, esp colors. He loved seeing all the colors and thought they were so beautiful.

It's weird that I do see colors and have good eyesight at my age except for brightness. My eyes reversed themselves as I used to be more near sighted and now I have to take off my progressive glasses when watching TV. Do need glasses to read and be on the computer for the brightness in spite of turning it down.
