Well you probably need to catch up anyway so I don't blame you for not hanging around the PC all day. ;)
I always see funny videos of animals w/ cones on, but I still feel bad for them.

Yep had to quest and get those stars! lol So sorry you feel so bad, but glad your driver test went well and that your dad is doing better. Thanks for the thread! Good idea. Hope you have a wonderful day today.
Hope everyone has a great day. :)
Thank you! I'm glad your Dad is doing better! Hopefully, that heat rash goes away soon :( Congrats on your license, too!
Thank you! We've been told we will have cell service up there, so I'll try and pop in from time to time ^_^ Share a picture or two! It'll be the whole family, though...with all the furbabies!
Welcome back!!
We have a cone for the pups but prefer the inflatable collar instead. It's like a traveling pillow, lol
We took the truck in for some routine maintenance before the trip and found out it needed new brakes in the front :( They were old anyway, but the rotors had heat cracks in them. They were SUPER OLD. Dad never wanted to replace them, so he would file them down himself over the years. Well...now they gotta go. One of those expected things, so it wasn't too bad of a surprise. At least the old man rotors are gone now, lol. The nasty surprise was that the exhaust brake doesn't work, so we have to go into Yosemite from a different route, and leave the same way so we don't ride the brakes as much. The part for that won't be in for a couple weeks. Oh well. The exhaust brake is a good thing to have, not really a requirement for the drive, so we will manage!
Other than that, things are looking good to go!

Thank you so much, appreciate it more than you know!
Welcome back . I just came back from a hiatus. Computer gotten taken over by my teenage son until it broke. Finally got it fixed and set up.
KINDRED SPIRITSNothing so grand for me. Welcome back to you too, nice mom.
Ah I remember that extra braking system you said you had for those hills. Always thought it was interesting b/c over half of the country wouldn't need s/thing like that but b/c you go on hills I've only seen in the Rockies, it would definitely be worth the investment.
What's the furthest (farthest?) you've gone on a trip/vacation w/ the RV?

Yeah, Dad got it specifically for our favorite route into Yosemite. We've had to use it a couple other times, like for where we used to live, but Yosemite was the main thing because we used to go every year. Dad also LOVED his toys on that truck, lol. The route we will be taking now won't have as much of a variety of sights, but it will be easier.
Farthest we've been on will probably be this one. Ever since we moved to Arizona all of our RV trips to California are long, but Yosemite will definitely be the farthest. We'll also be dry camping, so that will be fun! Yosemite does not have hookups like the Grand Canyon x) It'll take about 6-7 hours to get to California, we'll stop for the night, and then another 6 to get to Yosemite.

I'll admit this just b/c I'm old enough to, lol, but as far as locale I was thinking Yosemite was geographically South (not SW) of Yellowstone. Guess I was thinking of the Canyon. lol
So yeah, I looked it up this morning and saw the mention of Sierra Mountains and realized how little I hear about it from people hiking the PCT. (they mostly talk about the mountains and how to get through them or around them if there's a late snow) Are you pretty far East in Arizona? Seems like a long trip, being right next to Cali, but your state is pretty damn big. :P
(Btw, when I put in words in parenthesis for you, I'm generally asking for the correct word. I'm always looking to improve my grammar.) ;)
Your dad sounds like he was an extraordinary man and I would be very happy to be his daughters. To continue on with what he showed you is just beautiful and I'm sure it makes him so happy and proud. (I don't talk in past tense - while I'm not religious, I do believe that our existence doesn't just blink out once we pass on) <3

happy belated birthday!
Good afternoon all (just turned afternoon here). Just got home from work it was hot there. And it's going to be a very hot day here today around 30 degrees celcius. Pfff sweaty!

Howdy KSrs
Had a very nice day on Thursday minus a little bit when mom got dizzy. We sat in the shade and she recovered and the rest of the day she was okay. We had a small lunch, bought some stuff we don't need, sat and had some soft ice cream cones at the point and watched the water and the people. Stopped at Stewart's Rootbeer on the way home for dinner which is always good and then got home in time for me to watch drag race. :) Went out to breakfast this morning because I needed to go out to get some anti itch cream for some bug bites and stuff for mac and cheese. Storms expected later today, overnight and tomorrow. Have to go out to renew some meds for mom tomorrow but hopefully we can wait until it's just rain. Flea market tomorrow as well but I am not sure if the weather will cooperate enough for that. We'll see.
I am sooooo happy that your computer is fixed and you're getting time on it again to chat and to play. happy dance
I'm happy you asked me so I could welcome you back in and make some little changes into who can join KS as it is today as opposed to how it was.
That bit you said about Dracoren and Draviel's dad made me tear up. ❤
Thank you! Grats on your aunt and uncle's anniversary! That's a milestone one for sure. Best wishes for their next 10 years together!
“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2
Have always believed in checking and not assuming, could have been a huge mistake but my hopes were high. Missed being here and those that I've known for years. Am so proud of you for making a difficult decision on changing things for the better. It is easier just to think to oneself how nice it would be and sigh. Personally I thank you for accepting me back and the changes will be more welcoming to all. Congratulations to you and Kindred Spirits!
Morning all :) I just realised that I bought a wardrobe item that I already had in my wardrobe ooooops! I'd like to donate it to be used for a prize but I'm not sure who it would be best to send to?
Also apologies for not posting much in here... I find speaking up in a group incredibly daunting, but I'm trying! so hello haha
Think maybe Jersey might be best to ask as she is now the owner.
One day I will get myself to Yellowstone! I have never been there :( I am rubbish at where things are located...like...I knew about where Yellowstone was, but I forgot it was on the corner of Wyoming, lol. We're actually on the West side of Phoenix, which is kind of in the middle of the state. We hit the border in about two hours ^_^
LOL, noted! xD Though I don't know everything and still have to look up the difference between effect and affect! I can never keep those words straight! Farthest/furthest are more or less interchangeable, I think. I've seen discussions saying farther is is for physical distance, and further is for abstract, but you can still find instances where they aren't used that way, so use whatever you think sounds better :P
Thank you! That made me all teary ❤ I don't think we cease to be either. I know for a fact I have seen my Dad and felt his presence since then. Our loved ones are always with us.
I hope you had fun at the party and were able to stay cool! I would love to have those temperatures again. We got to about 38C (100F) today.
Sounds like an awesome time!
I hope the weather cooperates so you can go to the flea market!
We have all of our trip shopping done! I wander way too much in Cabela's xP All that is left to do is throw everything in the trailer, and check tire pressures. We tend to pack very last minute now because we don't want everything to bake in the trailer. We can't have the A/C running in it all the time because it trips the fusebox :( We used to store stuff in there, but when we first moved out here a glass container exploded and left a sticky mess, lol.

hugs
You and moms sure get around up there. :P Sounds like it's been lovely, and I'm glad the roof seems to be done right this time (finally). How's the weather been?
Just got some really good storms last night.
Getting pretty hot here. I think I saw 90 F. coming up in the next couple days.
Such a busy woman, lol. How's hubby doing?
You know a lot more b/c you're surrounded by it. ;) If I looked at a map more often, I would be more familiar about where things are. lol I like that description or discussion of further and farther. Affect and effect have never bothered me as it's been much more common to see and use. If there were 2 words that really trip me up, it would be conscience and conscious. :P I guess the drive straight up through Cali is a lot longer than it seems just looking at it from a distance. derp I mean it takes around 3hrs to drive directly South through the smallest end of KY so thinking of it in that way, it's easier to see.
Isn't Cabella's kind of pricey? Or is it just lack of options?
As far as dry camping -sounds like it's going to be a little rough w/ 4 people and 2 furbabies. Is there a place where you can get water?
Haven't done much of anything on my days off and I'm ok w/ that. lol Wish I could just be off until I get paid again b/c that would be one major reason I haven't done anything. Monthly paychecks suck. Period. Need to mow, but I'll always procrastinate on that.

hubby has his ups and downs. goes to a specialist Tuesday for his osteo. they say this is very rare for a man to have.
seems like the older we get , the more we get.
yep had a great time.
hello there
